  1. I would definitely talk more to this other guy, especially about money and stability (how steady is the business and get more history). This sounds like an interesting opportunity, but not knowing him or more about the company means you should be cautious before you make a decision no matter how good it sounds. Maybe you could do a trial run of some details on nights/weekends to get a better feel on how you'd work together.

As to your current situation, there are definitely pros and cons to working for friends/family. While there is a lot to be said for stability and sacrificing potential $ for it, if your pay has been stagnant for six years (trust me, you're not the only one) I would try to get a better idea of whether that's gonna change any time soon (6 months, year, etc).

    Good luck.

  2. It should break records at that price......

I'm a Camaro guy from way back (I've owned four), and the LS7 is one of my favorite engines, so of course I think this is the ultimate Z/28. But as great as this package is, I'm a bit skeptical of it bringing $20k more than the ZL1. But who knows, maybe I underestimate the math involved to get a 1LE (starting at half the price) up to this level of track performance. But in the bigger picture, I'm glad this Z/28 exists as a platform for parts to trickle down from.

  3. (gotta love technology)

Time to break out the ol' pen and paper and post on the forum with sticky notes :)

My handwriting is so bad, it would be worse than any typos.

There have been some good tips so far, but you just have to have realistic expectations with a daily driver, especially if you don't have the benefit of a garage.  The upside is that a properly maintained finish will look good even with a light coating of dust until you get really close. I usually do a Waterless Wash (or the new Rinseless Wash now) several times a week in the evening, so at least I'm starting with a clean slate on whatever dust it will collect overnight and at work the next day.

  4. A California company has one called Stripper Scent.  I think the Leather Conditioner is plenty awesome.

Some folks need a product to get the stripper scent out of their vehicle. I've heard.

You're right the Leather & Interior Conditioner smells great, but I don't use it too often. The Total Interior Detailer has a clean scent (baby powder?), but I wouldn't mind having a bit of Detail Spray or Invisible Undercarriage Spray scent without having to hang my head out the window like a dog.

  5. I wash my bed like the exterior, but the floor is scratched up from use so I don't bother using any other products on it. However I do use DS on the inner tailgate and sides since they're somewhat visible.

I'll get around to doing a spray-in liner eventually, but I figure the more scratches I have to hide I'll be getting my money's worth.

  6. I got one of those on my last two trucks in the first month of ownership. I lived with it for a while until it spread. I called around and the dealer was able to install an OEM windshield at about the same price as whatever anyone else would have done. And it was less than my insurance deductible.

  7. :welcomebanner: Scott! I'm in Shreveport, too, but unfortunately my truck isn't a great example of the Adam's shine at the moment. :loser:

Good call starting your wife's car off right. And if you haven't tried it yet, one of my favorite products for trucks and SUVs is the Invisible Undercarriage Spray. The fenderwells are so visible, if they're not as clean as the rest of the vehicle, it really detracts from the overall look. Plus it smells terrific!

  8. Yes, even though there are other waxes that cost more, Buttery is still a premium wax compared to your typical off the shelf stuff.

Even though your cars are new, it is still recommended to clay them before polishing or waxing. You may be surprised at the contaminants on something fresh off the lot.
