  1. If you happen to see him again feel free to let him know that we are sold in the National Corvette Museum, and the products that are used to prep every Corvette that rolls off the line in Bowling Green.

Is there a thread about this? I'm just curious if it's someone's job to hit every new Vette with DS, VRT, etc. (and how can I get that job!) I've never seen it in any of the factory videos.

  2. Very nice taste in cars! I'm sorry to see you're going to the Euro side, but I'm sure you'll be back. :hi:

Do you look back at your old rides and think, "If I still had that it would be blown/stroked/different wheels/paint, etc today...?" Obviously yours were pretty far down that path anyway, but I sometimes think back to what I had in my school days and where they'd be with time+cash.

  3. That really is short-sighted of Sears since the Craftsman tools got people like me in the store for other products as well. But it's not just them, Kobalt (Lowe's) and Husky (Home Depot) have gone the same route, too, though I've read some Husky is still USA. It's frustrating because I can't justify Mac and Snap-On for my use, but I hate to waste money on cheap tools.

  4. 305hp from the Ecoboost engine sounds pretty impressive.

Yes, but regardless of whether it makes 500hp, I can't get excited about a 4-cylinder Mustang (or Camaro, etc) just on principle. Don't get me wrong, as long as they offer a proper V8, I don't care if they sell a pedal version.  I understand the business case, you have to sell base models to subsidize the performance models. I'm just confused on this since what I've read says the 305hp 3.7 V6 is the base model and the turbo 4 is a premium option under the 5.0. The EcoBoost is fine, but I don't get how it fits with the two current offerings. Maybe it will make more sense when they announce pricing, power, and mpg specs. As with certain aspects of the styling, I assume the EB 4 is largely a nod to the European market.

  5. Despite all the changes, the styling isn't the radical departure I kept hearing it would be. They did a good job making it look "like a Mustang," but you can tell they made some concessions for the European/world market (not saying that's good or bad, just a design influence). With a car as iconic as the Mustang, you'll never please everyone, but I bet they'll continue to sell well.

  6. But consider this... you were buying a gallon (128oz) of waterless wash, which is a ready to use product.

The new stuff, (1) 16oz bottle can make you up to (16) 16oz bottles or 256oz of waterless wash so effectively a 16oz bottle (which ships cheaper than a gallon) can make you 2 gallons worth of the stuff its replacing.

Since I have a carport, I use the heck out of WW for touch-ups so this is great.

You mention several times in the video that the spray method is inferior to the bucket method. Since I can appropriately saturate the panel and/or the towel with spray solution, what is the drawback?

  7. I haven't run that particular model, but I've been pleased with every Goodyear tire I've used. The Wrangler is a very good all-terrain tire (as are the BFGs), and as long as you don't need a real aggressive tread pattern they should serve you well.

  8. Should compete very well with the Audi Q crossover... I like the look, but until I see it in person and get a better feel for the size its hard to say for sure.

Will the Porsche share any DNA with the Audi, or do the VW overlords keep the brands separate?

  9. I doubt they'll do something like that with the 3.6L putting out 300bhp.  What would make a nice SS version is the 3.6L TT engine, but that also won't happen.

Full size trucks are bigger than ever.  My RAM dwarfs my late '90s F150 and is at least 8" wider I bet.

A decent sized smaller truck where I don't have to be dang near touching the other people in it is what I want as a family man needing a truck to haul stuff.  The S-10 and S-15 were good for the time, but times have changed.

Fair point, and I agree that half tons are ridiculously huge these days. I guess my earlier post argued that the Colorado was too close to fullsize, but I didn't take into consideration that fullsize is now oversize.

But I still wouldn't give up my Sierra for one.
