  2. Since becoming addicted to Adam's I've realized that there are a lot of things that I really didn't think about when I first started detailing. So I thought it would be beneficial to maybe post something that you thought was true when you first started detailing but turns out is completely wrong. Or maybe there was a product that you thought was awesome that was blown away by Adam's. Or maybe just share some advice that you think shouldn't be taken for granted. Some of mine: -All glass cleaners are not the same. -Soap and water doesn't clean everything. Use the proper product and tool for the job. It makes a world of a difference. (i.e. an old rag and some soapy water really doesn't clean tires and wheels well [pun intended]) -Pool rinsing is a technique that shouldn't be overlooked. It really is beneficial. -A proper two (or three) bucket wash needs to be mastered so that you aren't ruining a weekend of polishing in one wash.

    Plastidip

I wouldn't think it would work well in high traffic areas as mentioned before. I did dip my front bumper and all 4 wheels last summer and it lasted well all winter long. I have accidentally nicked the dip on one of my wheels with a screw driver and it seemed to want to come off afterwards. I have since completely removed the dip and reapplied and looks great. FYI - Dip loves some SVRT.
  5. I think it looks fantastic and as long as you think so that's all that matters:cheers:
  6. Welcome from the Bloomington/Normal area!
  7. I haven't heard this before but I'm still a newbie so the experts can feel free to correct me. After correcting the paint, it is recommended you do an IPA wipe down to remove any kind of residue from the paint. You will want clean, bare paint so that the sealant can cure correctly. Next step is to provide the best protection (this is where your choice of either Quick Sealant or Machine Super Sealant comes into play). Once you have protected your paint you can lay down layers of Brilliant Glaze and then your choice of Wax. To me, using BG just to remove polish residue seems like a waste.
  8. Looking great in that sun shot. Any more by chance?? (I'm greedy)

    Lexus LFA

Agreed. But man it makes me when I hear one let loose.

One of my dream cars for sure. I'm actually digging the color too.
  12. Very nice! What kind of camera do you use?
  13. You should be fine. Griots has some good items but, in my opinion, just aren't on the same level as Adam's.
  14. It also depends on what microfiber you were using in the past. If it's the made in China stuff, that won't help.
  15. Your twin city to the north
  16. Just curious: is the car wash company responsible for any damages to the truck? Or did they cover their butts by just posting a sign like that?
