  1. Hello and welcome to the forum! Where in IL are you? I'm in Bloomington and I know there are a few others on here from the area as well. I would think the essentials kit plus some Glass Cleaner and the MF towels will keep you busy for now. I would probably add Quick Sealant in the near future but I see you have some Buttery Wax that will help with protection for now. Wait for specials here and there to pick up discounted items that you are wanting to try. As far as your driveway, it might not hurt to find out the cost of upgrading to asphalt and compare it to what an appraiser thinks it adds to the value of your home. It might not seem worth it if you are leaving soon but it could be a few extra bucks in your pocket once it comes time to sell.
  2. It looks like these two new polishes and the microfiber pads will be in my next order very soon. Great work on the videos. Like mentioned earlier, these are no BS videos and I love that. Slightly off topic but I noticed that Adam spreads the polish out thinly and then goes right over the gaps between panels without any buildup. I feel like a dummy but does everyone do this? Does it only work with the bigger gaps?
  3. I do agree the new 5.0s are really bringing it. I've seen a couple Boss mustangs in town and they look and sound mean which would make me consider them (which I never have in the past). I certainly don't have any newer model Pontiacs to upgrade to.
  4. This is a great place to learn how to use even more fantastic products. Hopefully you won't use any more "tire gel" from here on out
  5. Aren't most months up there winter months? In all seriousness, I'm loving the GTR. How often do you get to take her out?
  6. Splendid job. And great write up and detail as always.

    A MANS GRILL!

Love it. Not a whole lot of actual grilling space tho (as if this is suppose to be a practical grill in the first place).
  8. I think if there's a new machine and new product combo/special, I won't even bat an eyelash before I buy. Can't wait to see what we're dealing with.
  9. I have no idea but I would enjoy more pics of my dream car. Please and thank you
  10. Looks great! What kind of hood is that?
  11. Even the back window of my G8 is kind of tough to get to. I rarely clean it but get the rest of the windows with a two towel method (one with glass cleaner and another to buff dry).
  12. Looks great! Always loved the side pipes on those older vettes.
  13. First red Raptor that I've seen. Looks great!
  14. Yep..."Paint Correcting Polish" and "Paint Finishing Polish" posted on FB page.
  15. I might agree with the OP. The drying technique is also very crucial. If your vehicle is waxed and sealed properly, make sure you rinse after a wash, then pool rinse to take most of the water of the car, then use a sidekick or masterblaster to take the majority of the water off the vehicle. Then it is a light mist of detail spray and a very light swipe with a GW or double soft towel. The less materials in contact with the paint the better.
  16. Both SVRT and In and Out Spray made my rubber mats very slick. Just clean with APC and air dry or dry with sidekick and you're good to go.
  17. Man that's a beautiful ride. And the Altima turned out okay too:thumbsup:
  18. Beemer this makes me feel a little better because I was pretty darn scared the first few times it happened. Thanks for the responses everyone. I did get an opinion from a local shop. After this happening for a couple weeks, he said all pads and rotors look fine. I had them wash the car (I know I know I'll fix her later tho) and reproduce what I was experiencing and the mechanic said his old Firebird use to do the same so that helped ease some anxiety. I haven't been doing anything different at least as far as I know. I've always washed and brought inside to dry. I just find it hard to believe that all of a sudden there is more rust buildup than there has been in the past.
  19. Well I guess it's comforting to hear this. It's just weird that this only started a few weeks ago and I've had the car for 2 years. I do use the sidekick for drying but do you think a little extra time on the pads should also help this?
  20. The past few weeks I have been washing the ride, I wash her, then pull her into the garage to dry, glaze, and clean the interior. By the time all of this is done, the day is over and she sits inside over night. The next morning I go to get in, throw her in reverse, and the brakes lock up. It takes a little bit of gas to have them "break free" (pun intended). I took her to a local shop and they said there is nothing wrong with the pads or rotors and that this can be normal. The only thing that I have been doing different lately is using APC to clean both tires, wheels, and wheel wells. I am getting APC on the rotors. Is the APC somehow "degreasing" the calipers and causing them to stick or somehow causing the pads to stick to the rotors some how? Has anyone had this happen before? P.S. I don't know how all the brake parts work so if that doesn't make sense let me know.
