This is a resto mod project that I was refered to my a friend. The owner has had some really bad luck with this and seems to be the going thing lately with people building cars here locally. Anyway he tore the truck down in December and began the process of getting it to the body shop for a complete body fix and paint. They told him "Oh its nice, should only be about 4 weeks". He was excited! So 4 weeks pass and the story was that it had been a little worse than expected but they were making progress. Long story made short the owner went and repo'd his half finished truck after 16 weeks of waiting.

He was depressed and shocked that his decent looking truck that he wanted to have a color change made, now ended up looking like this out of the body shop

He picked up the phone and called me to come look and see if there was anything I could do to help him. Now I will stop right here and say that I exclusively use Adams Products. And While they have done everything I need them to do, I had to step up to the plate with this detail.

I began with My Flex 3401 and a wool pad using the Sever Swirl and haze remover to uncover the areas that had already been wet sanded by the body shop.

I found that their wet sanding had left scratches too deep to repair with my flex, so I broke out the 2500 and 3000 grit and began to work my magic. Now I could finally use the green pad and the SSHR to bring that back to life.

Now after many hours of work I could have him look at the vehicle and almost burst into tears. For someone to have spent their hard earned money and received a product like that from the body shop is wrong in so many ways. And while I am not a charity organization, I do have a soft heart for people who are in a bind and need some help. I gave him a break and told him to just pay me what he could and get that bronco back on the road for his family to have fun this summer. He actually brought me more cash than I would have charged him and said he was so happy with the work I did!

Now to finish up I followed the SSHR with SHR and FMP with their respective pads. What a awesome turn around on this and a Happy customer!

Thanks everyone! Yes the residue was a wet sand/clear coat that the body shop left behind. And boy they did a number. I have used 1500 grit to get some trash and runs out of fresh paint before and these scratches were on par with that, so it took a good bit of work to actually step down and slick it back out! I enjoy what I do and mostly do it as a hobby that pays for itself while I still have a 8-5 job. Everyone needs a break now and then, this guy was worthy of it!

Thanks for the compliments and hope to post more work soon, I did land a deal with the Mercedes/Porsche dealer here this week to do some of their high end cars when they need a good correction. Pictures will follow soon hopefully!

This was my first test product with them! After a wash you can see the horrible paint condition, I began with a single bucket wash (obviously the car didn't deserve a two bucket, it just needed to be clean), followed by a clay bar and inspection.

Began with the SHR (bottom left), then FMP (bottom right) and wrapped it up with a coat of MSS and a coat of buttery Wax.
