nls8520
Adam's new jumbo plush microfiber towel, would it be a good replacement for a small car with soft paint (Subaru) instead of the great white waffle weave? Or is it more of a wax/polish removal towel? Thanks!
0 AZGTO
They're great towels but I like both actually. The plush towel seems to take a bit more effort to dry your car off but it does so with less passes across your paint KBsToy and Ricky Bobby
0 Chris@Adams
No, the new jumbo is for wax, sealant removal & DS wipe down......not for drying.
0 Ricky Bobby
They're great towels but I like both actually. The plush towel seems to take a bit more effort to dry your car off but it does so with less passes across your paint Bingo, key is less passes (less touching). The jumbo plush is absolutely a great towel for drying paint, I've been using one for over a year now and only use waffle weaves after rinseless washing now. Plush towels require a different method, you usually lay the towel over the section you are drying and just pat it dry or "blot" to absorb the water, it works remarkably well this way. If you are trying to dry by just quickly wiping it will not work as well, you need to go slow to allow the fibers to absorb the water via capillary action. These towels hold a TON of water. Dries perfect with no streaks, Chris I understand your preference towards waffle weave drying but to post matter-of-factly that using a plush towel is not for drying is misleading. Some people prefer it and consider it superior to waffle weave towels and I hope Adam's does another run of them soon. AZGTO and KBsToy
0 egott_91
If you're having issues with the GWDT scratching your clear coat due to its softness, try the large plush towel. No, the new jumbo is for wax, sealant removal & DS wipe down......not for drying. Well, according to Adam's site, it CAN be used for drying... "Use it to dry your car after a wash, use it to remove polish residues, use it to wipe your car down with Detail Spray or just use it to impress your friends!" 0 Chris@Adams
Any towel can be used for drying......I am saying that the Great White is the safest, the pockets are designed to catch any dust or dirt that may be lurking so you don't rub it into your clear coat. 0 Chris@Adams
Or better yet buy a Master Blaster and forget about towel drying.????
0 Adam
Been using both, and truth be told, I like both! On a vehicle that needs clay, the plush towel will lint. Antv20 and AZGTO
0 JLKoupe
Ah, didn't realize that. It explains why I sometimes have trouble with lint from a plush buffing towel and other times, not. Good tip, thanks!
0 Kingsford
I use my big plush towels for drying. I use small plush for polishes, waxes and sealants. KBsToy
0 Ricky Bobby
The plush is definitely the softest touch, irregardless of lint. For the softer paints (Subaru, Toyota/Lexus) its definitely the safest option. There are places for both in my regimen for sure
0 nls8520
Great information and I appreciate the time and detailed response's. I always use the lay the towel down and blot or pat dry method, being a dark car with soft paint. Thanks again to all who replied. 0 KBsToy
I find the plush towel to work for me. I dry the windows first to get towel damp then do the rest of the car
