10" Wash Pad longevity and effectiveness

Just wondering if it might be time to retire my wash pad.  Have been using it once a week since the beginning of April and it was great at slathering the suds on my car.  The last two times it's barely retaining any of the suds and appears to just spread slightly soapy water on my vehicle.  I've done my best to maintain the pad properly, cleaning and air drying it after each use (cleaning = thoroughly rinsing with the hose only and squeezing out excess water) but am at the point in wondering if it's time to "hang it up" for this one.  Any thoughts on this?

Do you brush them also?  I have some wash pads going on over a year now, brushing really revitalizes them.

Mine have lasted well over a year with brushing them.

I replace my personal ones at least a few times a season as they get ratty - at $10+/- depending on when you buy its cheap insurance. Its also why I use them for lower rockers exclusively and the wedge is now my upper panel preference.

Thanks everyone, no I haven't brushed them but I do have 2 or 3 others in reserve.  As Dylan and others have mentioned about the wedge I might go that route for my top half.  I'll be keeping my eyes open for some good deals as they're released.

If in heavy use I'll go through 2 sets a year.

 

As Dylan said, cheap enough to replace often.  If they are lightly used you may be able to get a year out of a set.

Brushem buy new ones use old ones for certain tasks I always just get a new one every order or so... fyi if your doing rinsless washes you don't use many
