I had the narrow stripes on the side of the cowling (hood spears) since it was new (almost 7 years ago!) and just wanted to change it up a bit. Wanted something different but not too "out there". I actually considered just wrapping the entire hood in flat black. Maybe next time... Don't worry - I'm not that sensitive to negative comments. I was just looking for an excuse to show it off.
