Benefits of alternative style: If you drop it, you just need to rinse it off and continue using it. The mitts are a little 'faster', you can cover more area with it. Clay: still the benchmark IMO. I still find myself going back to clay for some jobs. It sometimes just seems to 'work' better, also I have multiple types-heavy, medium, fine, to choose from. Whatever you use, it's a critical step to a fantastic finish and excellent results! Hope this helps! I've found the alternative clay bars to work great during a wash... keeping the car lubricated speeds up the process.
