coops18ZR2
Hello all, Wanted to take a minute and introduce myself. I've used Adam's products for many years but this is my first time on the forum. Most of the products I have used over the years have been the car shampoo, detail spray, VRT, and most of the interior products. Just using those products has kept me sold on Adam's products but also the ONLY products that I will use on a vehicle. I recently purchased a brand new vehicle and want to keep her looking just as good as she does now for many years to come. My initial plan for the short term is to give her that first wash with the new foam cannon I received, clay the entire painted surface and glass, followed by a rinse and some H2O Guard and Gloss. I figure this will get me by until I have the time and necessary equipment to do a full paint correction followed by ceramic coating the paint, trim, and lastly wheels. Give me your thoughts and ideas on my initial short term plan. Also, here is a pic of the new toy. Thanks and have a great day! Chonke
Welcome! Nice truck! I dont think ive seen a colorado in that color before, but it looks really good. It sounds like you already have a good plan. Id also suggest getting tire shine, and invisible undercarriage spray. Those little details make a huge difference, specially on a truck. Also since youre already going to clay the windows, adding glass sealant would be a good idea.
coops18ZR2
Chonke, Thanks for the welcome to the forum! The color on the ZR2 is Kinetic Blue Metallic, it's a new premium color for the 2018 models. I got the truck a couple days after the dealer got in. You mentioned a couple of things and I forgot to mention them myself. The one thing I ran out of and forgot to order was the tire shine. I will be sealing the glass with Adam's glass sealant after claying them. Do you know off hand if the under carriage spray has changed at all in the last year or two? I have some but it has been a while since I've used it. Eh, guess I should order some new under carriage spray and tire shine at the same time. Thanks for the pointers and suggestions! Hope you have a great day! Tony Edited September 13, 2017 by coops18ZR2
ZMAN024
Welcome to the forum Tony. You'll definitely want to get Ceramic Coating on that beauty as soon as you can get the paint correction done. It makes a world of difference in maintenance going forward. Also, if you have the patience and the money, Ceramic Coating for the wheels will help with the brake dust and the harsh road salt in the Winter. Good luck with the new ride. Chris@Adams
Welcome Tony.......I would continue with H2o G&G every 4 washes or so until you can do your paint correction.
Thorsager
Welcome! Your plan sounds good. The H2O GG will really make that color blue pop. You will be fine with the undercarriage spray that you have.
8675309'SS
Howdy from the Mitten! Don't forget a Wheel Woolie for the wheels, if you do don't already have one. Post more pics of that awesome blue.
coops18ZR2
Thanks to all for such a warm welcome to the forum!! ZMAN024, The ceramic wheel coating is certainly gonna be done. With the wheels that are on the truck it will be a labor of love as they have many small nooks and crannys to get into. I will follow the advice of the video and do 1 or 2 spokes at a time to get started. I'll start with the barrel first to get a feel of how the coating goes on. After the wheels I will move onto the trim and ceramic coat all the trim. The front end on the truck has a good deal of black plastic that should look amazing once the ceramic coating is applied. The last step will be the paint correction followed buy ceramic coating there. I've been looking over the paint pretty close since I got the truck and I must say, for a factory Chevy paint job they did a decent job on it. It has the usual orange peel but not nearly as bad as it use to be. Hoping the finish compound will really give it that next level of shine. 8675309Maro, Thanks, now I have that song stuck in my head lol!!! I'm glad you mentioned the wheel whoolie, that should work a treat on the wheels and make cleaning them much easier! Plan is to give her it's first wash tomorrow, followed by Visco clay and then rinse and H2O G&G. She only has 200 miles on her but I see dust and dirt lol. I'll take some good before and after pics and post them up. Again, many thanks for the warm welcome along with tips and suggestions! Tony

coops18ZR2
Thank you Rich for the welcome to the forum. I've been a silver nut for a good number of years but when I saw this Kinetic Blue Metallic in person I KNEW I had to have that color on the truck. coops18ZR2
This was my old ride. As you can see, Adam's helped me keep it looking damn sharp for the time I had it. She didn't look anything like that when I got it but with a good weekend of cleaning it turned out pretty nicely. It was tough letting that one go but it was time and the new vehicle itch got to me lol. Sad part at least for the dealer anyway, my Avalanche looked better inside and out than most of the vehicles they had on the lot, including new vehicles. Is it bad when you specifically ask the dealer NOT to wash or detail your new vehicle before delivery lol!? That's good to know about Karl Perfomance carrying Adam's products! I think that is where my former Avalanche was originally purchased when new lol. Akeny would be a bit of a drive for me though, live close to the Quad City area. Thanks again for the welcome! Tony

coops18ZR2
Mbrazelton, My condolences on the Cyclone country living...........J/K! That was probably one of the best rivalry games I've seen. Certainly one of the best that I can think of between the Hawks and Cyclones!!! That's one of those games it doesn't matter if you're a Hawk fan or a Cyclone fan, it's almost always a great game. Tony

Tony I am neither a Iowa or Iowa State fan for the most part but living near Ames I root for the Cyclones if I have to pick. But enjoy the new pickup I just picked up a Silverado and love it so far, traded in my ZL1 Camaro for a more family friendly truck.

I tip my hat to you and salute you for being a great family man!!! I can understand about where you live kinda determining what sports team you "should" root for lol. No worries, I'm not a win or die fanatic lol. Really do enjoy great rivalries games like Bears vs Packers, Cub vs Cards, Hawks vs Cyclones, makes for some great games to watch! Haha I loved the ZL1 but had it for 6 months and had quite a few problems. Right now I'm looking to build a single turbo LSX foxbody for fun.
