The Ryan
thanks man there still a few sratches here and there and couple on the targa top. but get them another time i started on this thing at 5 yesterday till 1 in the morning woke up at 9 and finally finished it up at 2 today. the wife(well fixing to be wife in 3 weeks) thought it looked good but wasnt happy cause we stayed home last nite for me too polish the car lol... Remember 100% perfection is for concours / show cars... Your car polished out to 90-95% perfection is going to look better than 90-95% of the cars on the road... except for maybe my camaro Congrats on the marriage to be man! mikeg6045
On You Tube. We refrain from discussing the use of a rotary here as it is quite an advanced technique that can quickly have your car at a paint shop. If you have to ask about it, it is not something you want to try. Here's a picture of a car where someone who shouldn't have tried, tried. He's lucky there is still paint on the car. Adam's products are safe for the novice user and that is what makes them ideal for the noob. A rotary IS NOT. Every black car i see in the certified used department of my friends VW dealer looks like that. Its really unfortunate. Ive watched there inhouse detailer work while having maintenance in the service dept in AWE!! He basically uses the rotary like he's mowing a lawn. with no halogen lighting and in the shade. all you see is up and down patterns all over the cars. I dont understand how the manager doesnt realize this. and at work my friend just had his bike fixed after a wreck and payed out of pocket (no collision) 3300 dollars. He picked up the bike and parked it in the sun in front of our trailer and there is horrible deep holograms and swirls in it. even worse is the pad they used looks like its about 2.5 or 3 inch's. deep cuts. I told them to ask if they used a rotary and wool pad and he said they did. He's now having it resprayed (they went through the clear i spots), and I told him to have them pay for a paint correction specialist to service it on there dime after they wetsand it. Just leave it wetsanded and bring it to someone experienced for the finish work. Even worse is this is the shop that was recommended to him buy all of his "Bike" friends. The kid is only 21 years old, so who knows what his "good friends" recommend. Body shops stop at the wool pad and rotary all the time. It seems that even the best paint correction specialist's who use rotarys always follow up with a dual action polisher like the flex or pc. xlr8rvette
I used a rotary on my dads vette........... Its hard to use a rotary and leave a hologram free finish, I always find myself "jeweling" the paint with a PC after a rotary polishing. Where can I find info on this? JJ1o87
I need to start wearing my reading glasses more, when I first read the post title, I thought it read that he needed help polishing his cat.......... Yeah been there done that. I tried to restore luster to my kitty but in the end "mittens" just had a 7 inch circular bald spot on his side. That yellow pad really cuts! Junkman2008
any plans on Adams coming out with a heavier cut polish ? something considered along the lines of a compoud ? He has a lot of experienced users on the forum that i'm sure a product like this would help. Something is in the works but nothing is definite. Speed, pressure and the correct amount of polish is what is going to fix that Corvette clear. I know from experience and it took me 3 months to get mine perfect. If you have the patience, it can be done although I would need to see you in action to say for sure. A video of you working is better than a thousand post. He has a lot of experienced users on the forum that i'm sure a product like this would help. Probably a tough decision for Adam, cause at the moment all his products he can gaurantee to work safely. Its probably easier for someone with zero experience to go to town with a yellow pad and SHR, than to make a drastic mistake or skip a step using a compounding polish and cutting pad. The Ryan
Kyle, some RDS (random deep scratches), will take multiple sessions... If you try to knock em all out in one day you'll go crazy! Just know that over time they will dissapear, and you'll always have a good support team here on AF! Lets see some pictures!

myredc5
I used a rotary on my dads vette... I don't think they *need* a rotary, but it really does make the job a LOT easier... If I were a vette owner, I would use a Flex 3401VRG for correction; DA + Forced rotation = great combo, fast result, no holograms. But you need some experience (and deep pockets) before using one of these bad boys. Its hard to use a rotary and leave a hologram free finish, I always find myself "jeweling" the paint with a PC after a rotary polishing. Thanks Ryan>>>>Dad

JJ1o87
Yeah I had the "privilege" of helping John detail his C6 z06 today. What a pain in the rump that clear is to correct. I was using slow cut method and I still had swirls left over. I wasn't pleased.
6spdg37s
Remeber the corvettes are notorious for hard clear coats - it takes a bit longer to get good results... Make sure to watch junkman's videos on proper processes. yea this made my life miserable today I spent 10 hrs detailin the z06 and its still not perfect, but itll do ! to be honest I think mine has to be hit with a rotory and quite possibly a few spots wetsanded
