Detailing a relatively new GMC Denali and while cleaning the interior plastic on the door, what seemed like grease came off on the towel. I was using a grey utility towel and Leather cleaner diluted 50/50 with water. As I wiped, I noticed the color of the panel began to lighten. It appears I removed some paint or rubberized coating. Anyone have an issue like this and if so, any way to fix it?

Thanks, I do use the regular detail spray. Reading these posts had me wondering
Sure thing. I know the general rule of thumb is to go with a silica based spray for wipe downs on ceramic coated cars. But Iāve always used the standard detail spray on my previous cars which were coated and had no issue. ThisĀ version is just a tad bit different in how it behaves. I donāt think itās quite as effortless as we are used to with the Pink DS. Problem is my current vehicles arenāt coated yet. So I cannot give you info based on experience.Ā I have enjoyed using the 20th Anniversary edition as a drying aid on a non coated car just due to the shine. Every car is different so YMMV. I donāt think itās going to hurt anything to try it out. Be mindful it is black if you got the version in the Gold or Silver bottle. I used dark towels so they wouldnāt show any stains like a white towel would. -
Do you use the normal Detail Spray? As others have noted, this one can be a little more finicky when using as a drying aid. I noticed it was a little grabby when using as a final wipe down. And I hadnāt previously encountered the pushing around effect, but I had that happen to me this past weekend. Where it seems to not want to absorb into the towel as easily. Not to scare you, but it might be worth doing a small test section to see how it works for you. You can tell it has some form of protection as thick as it is when you spray it. It may or may not interact well. Hard to say for sure.

@JuniorĀ u failed to list ur plane on ur last post!Ā Ā I hope u use Adams to shine it up! What has moreĀ Hp? The plane or one SRT?
Man neither the Demon nor the plane are mine. I detailed that Demon a few weeks back and figured it would be a cool car to show you guys. Wish it was mine for sure! Iām pretty sure the Demon has more HP by far.

Just used it again as a drying aid and I gotta say it worked great and left an incredible shine. I am using an extremely plushĀ large drying towel so that might be making a difference.Ā

This is another thread for me to make theĀ suggestion forĀ Adam's to offer the variety air fresheners packs but where you can pick which you want. Getting 6 for $13 instead of $18 add's up when you put one in most of your customers car.Ā Like towels, I'd definitely buy them in 12 packs too.
I mentioned the same thing back when they were soliciting feedback. They did a variety pack which was cool, but you couldnāt choose the scents. I guess logistically it is more difficult to do that and more errors would happen.

Or maybe folks sold them on eBay?!?

Many times I will put an Adams AF in a customers car when Iām done. The grape one is probably my favorite. I will also spray a couple shots of ON in some cars if they need it. And on some I will spray the detail spray into the floorboard in front and back. It always smells great.

Who all has used the 20th Anniversary Detail Spray and what are your thoughts? Is there another thread on it I may have missed? I only saw the intro thread but nobody really talked much about it from a review perspective.
Ā
i used it for the first time and Iāll say I liked the shine and how it functioned as a drying aid. However I noticed it took quite a bit of passes during a final wipe down using it on a dry surface. It also wasnāt near as slick feeling as the OG Detail Spray. Seemed to grab a bit in the plush towel. Scent was good but there again I think the standard Detail Spray is far and away better and really iconic and associated with Adams. Hope they arenāt going away from that color and scent. This spray probably packs more protection and shine.Ā
Āif itās me, I probably use this boosted version as the drying aid and the pink DS for the final wipe down.

*BUMP OLD THREAD*

I see a 6 pack in the store, but you get what you get. You should make a build your own with 6, or 12 pack.
I wish they would!

And bring back Grape šš

I really havenāt been impressed with the new APC. Most notably, it smells just like Tire and Rubber cleaner, not that lemon scent it used to have. Second, thinkingĀ back to the original version, I could see where it would break down grime on the tires. The new version doesnāt seem to do that. It clings really well, but I donāt see where it is breaking down and helping remove road grime on my tires.Ā Could be I got a bad batch?Ā Probably the first time I have not been impressed with an Adams product. Iāll use it on a few more things and see if it wins me over since I bought the gallon.

Lol yeah that seems likely even if they mean the way the material āswirlsā motion wise.

Well, there you go. "Vote with your dollar" that says alot.
Ā
I've always loved Adams Polishes and recommend them to everyone. 90% of my products are Adams. It isn't so much the chemicals I'm upset with (they still rock) it's the gimmicky direction I feel the company has taken which cheapens it's appeal. This company is great and got my business because of what it was and what it stood for. I've seen Adam's explanation about Chinese products and such. I've read numerous posts.
Ā
I'm simply stating that recent rebranding of some items and the price tag associated with those items are very different than what we would have seen and expected several years ago.
Ā
I never fault anyone for growing a business and making a ton of money. I applaud that and I'm and advocate of Entrepreneurship and success. However, it's pretty disrespectful to build such a great customer base then tell them to vote with their dollars when they try to give feedback to you.
Ā
I know I'm not the only one who agrees with my opinion though I see I'm in the minority on the forums. I just figured I'd state what I know many are thinking and hopefully this post thread will enable some to also express their dislike for the direction of the company.
Mike,
Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā I thinkĀ your opinion matters and I get what you are saying. I wouldnāt be surprised to see someone from Adams reach out to you or respond to this post.Ā Iām not really partial toĀ someĀ of the stuff they are bringing in but I also am not starting out either. Iāve got 6 polishers and pretty much every tool I will ever need. If I was starting all over again, the Swirl Killer would probably be a major consideration. And with the Way Adams supports the customer, why would I buy a PC over the SK? To add to that train of thought, I first had a PC and thenĀ was spoiled with the Cyclo and RupesĀ polishers way before SK ever came out. And I also donāt really get into Adams limited releases or MB. Again because I have everything I need to detail about 30 cars. I think a lot of what they are doing from a marketing and product strategy is appealing to the younger crowd and those new to Adams.Ā But thatās the cool thing, I vote with my dollars and Iām sure they have a ton of new Adams customers who buy stuff that I donāt. They have to evolve if they want to continue to be successful, it may just be weird for those of us who were around in the early days. Growth promotes change.

Iāll chime in, Adams support has always been stellar and still is. Adam is a great guy, he has helped me out a lot.Ā The products speaking from a chemicals perspective are still excellent. The Chinese made tools IĀ wont fault, but they are not for me. I like to buy premium tools. Adams spoiled me with Flex Rupes and Cyclo I guess.Ā Thatās up to you the buyer andĀ Iām sure there are more people willing to spend half what I will on a polisher than those who donāt see price as an issue.Ā The only other thing Iāve seen is that there isnāt really an Adams Expert on the Forum who measures up to someone we knew who used to OWN IT. The guy moved on to another company and those are huge shoes to fill. It will take whatās happening now, which is several contributing members and folks at AdamsĀ to fill that gap. That dude was a lot like Adam to me. Them type folks aināt growing on trees.
Ā
AsĀ long as they continue to keep the customer number one and provide excellent service I will remain loyal to AP. I donāt see Adam letting that fall by the wayside. It starts at the top.
Ā
Latly Iāll pose this question, have you been delighted with their products and/orĀ service? I have on NUMEROUS OCCASIONS!!! If you havenāt, maybe you arenāt paying attention. Otherwise I donāt know what to tell you. Iāve not had experiences with any company Iāve traded with like I have with AP.

I would think it does moisturize based on the lanolin content.

Iām not a fan of using Facebook for legitĀ Ā information, which I think the Forum provides.Ā It gets way too unorganized and seems the majority of posts I see there are geared towards people complaining about shipping or trying to sell limited edition this or that. No thanks.

I like that idea. Also how about a Gallons section for all the gallons vs the gallons in each section like the old site?
