Junior reacted to Norton in Wheel Cleaner Substitute Needed
Wheel Cleaner should not be required with every wash.  It's definitely overkill for properly sealed wheels.  Neither should APC, which excels more in cleaning oil/grease, be required here.

Except for a couple of times/year, I stick with diluted Shampoo on my wheels.  (It works well, costs a fraction of the other options, and doesn't strip away LSPs.)

While shopping for a used truck, my wife saw a Black 2012 Ram 2500 diesel crew cab. She loved it, I love everything except the color. Not because I don't like black vehicles, I think they look great when clean, but this truck had obviously taken through automatic car washes often. It was swirled up really bad, and for someone who is a little OCD about their vehicles it wouldn't be good to own it. We ended up buying it and I tried lots of auto store products to try and clean up the finish. Clay bars, waxes, etc always to my complete dissatisfaction. I began shopping for a brand new truck in a different color (silver, white,) but was looking to take at least a 10k hit on the deal.
A friend of mine has a black vehicle and it always looks flawless. He recommended Adams Polishes to me. One phone call to an extremely knowledgeable and helpful gentleman, and a box of products were on the way. A few days later a box arrived containing a polisher, pads, correcting polish, finishing polish, sealer, detailer, cloths, etc and I went to work. I watched Adams how-to videos, and went to work. Wash, clay bar, polish, and seal and after 6 hours, the paint looked AMAZING! There were some pretty deep scratches in the paint in places and about 95% are completely gone, with only the deepest ones still visible but just barely. I was completely blown away on how well each product worked. This truck is big, I took my time and really actually enjoyed the process seeing this truck go from something I wasn't really happy with and ready to sell, to a vehicle that looks better than new.
Now I make excuses to walk out to the garage and run the back of my hand across the glossy, smooth finish. I can't express how happy I am with Adams Products! Since the comeback of the Rams finish, I've bought a complete kit for my son to turn him loose on his black WRX. (He's going to love his Christmas present).

THANK YOU ADAMS POLISHES! Your products and people are fantastic! You saved me $10,000!!!

Jon welcome to the Forum sir. I will second Tims comments. The bottom line is you won't find a brand that is as solid across the board as Adams and has the support this brand carries with it backed by a team that is 100% customer focused.

There isn't going to be a "best" pressure washer.  That's like asking what car does Adam's products work on best.  Anything inside the recommended range will work just fine.  With that said, a large amount of at home detailers use the Greenworks 1600 pressure washer from Lowe's.  It's $99 and can be had on sale for $89 or $79.  I hope this helps.

I have a Generac One Wash as my around the house pressure washer. You can select between 4 different pressures. The lowest setting is 2000 psi and the highest is 3100 psi. It has a flow of 2.8 gpm. I use 2000 psi setting for the foam cannon, works amazing. Best gas pressure washer I've owned thus far for general use.

Lowes has the Greenworks electric power washer for $79 on Black Friday. It is 1600 psi and 1.2 gpm. Does anyone know if this would work with the foam cannon?

I wanted to put my 2 cents in on the new Adam's Swirl Killer:

For the past few months I've been using/beta testing this machine and have performed numerous mulit-stage paint corrections with it. I am a professional detailer.  You can find pretty much every machine made in my arsenal.

    Some observations:

The Swirl Killer is well made.  It has a very nice 'feel' to it.  It is very balanced.  The vibration(s) are much less than the PC or Griot's PC type machines.  It is a 15mm long throw...this assists in 'faster' correction on a larger work area.  The power cord is very long and useful; I did not even need an extension cord to work around an average sized vehicle.

Power:  Plenty!  That being said, the long throw polishers have a tendency to 'stall' on curves.  You will experience this with this machine as well...you will need to learn and adjust your technique accordingly to overcome this and keep correcting/polishing.  I found myself running it on speeds 4+ for the heavy correction portion and then lower speeds for my final polishing.

Noise:  not bad for a polisher!  And I was running it in the upper speeds/wide open for some time.

Yes, it is made in China.  No, I do not consider that a major negative.  For the price it's an extremely capable machine and to me seems/works/feels like a 'professional' model. The 1 year warranty would not be an issue for me either.  For the targeted audience (non-professionals), I feel that the Swirl Killer is an excellent value to step up your detailing game with a 15mm long throw machine.

Anyways - I'm interested in the foam cannon but have no pressure washer... any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Jordan,

After years of owning and using a number of polishers, I can attest the vibration of the PC and the torque of the Flex are extreme detractors for me. I still have both, and I still value them as they are good in many ways, but I find myself using them for more specific purposes and not as often. With that being said, this new polisher appears to be one that will be smooth and ultimately easier on you physically. It took a post by Dylan for me to realize really how much smoothness and ease of use matters. That's why I use the smoother machines I own far more frequently these days. Fighting my polisher is no longer enjoyable. Trust me, if you had to do a lot of work with the PC and potentially some of the others offered by competitors, you would have some serious fatigue in your hands and just in general. Polishing should be enjoyable.

Okay may I ask, in regards to this polisher, what would separate this polisher from other's. I am not trying to bring other competitors into the topic for the sake of just doing it but as someone who is a complete novice to machine polishes. Looking at the similar price range what would separate this from say, the GG6, the MT300, or the PC7424XP? They all seem relatively the same to me. Hoping to hear from Dan, Adam, or Wolf. BTW....just got my first Adam's shipment........OOOOO MUCH EXCITE

Jordan, I think it looks like a decent setup. I wouldn't get too hung up on the warranty. I don't think many carry more than a year. I have a PC that is 7 years old and it still runs fine. I have a couple others and all work after doing multiple cars. You take care of the basic dos and donts and you should be fine. I get what people are discussing here because Adams has rolled out a number of new products this year. But speaking strictly about this polisher, it has all the features you need to get a great finish. Time will tell and once people start using these out there, you will begin to see what they like and what they don't. There are pros and cons to all the polishers I have ever used. Some run hot, some will vibrate your teeth out of your head, and some are lacking in power to correct. I think one of the biggest cons to many customers has been price and that is clearly where Adams made a decision to meet a need. Most enthusiasts will not want to spend $400 on an item they might use a time or two. Cut that number in half and I think it opens the door to get more people wanting to learn and start machine polishing. If I were in the market for my first polisher, or a step up from the PC, this one would be high on my list. Dealing with this company you cannot go wrong. If you really want some answers, email their customer support or pick up the phone and call them.

It seems like 99% of everything we consume as consumers is made somewhere else. Adams has made a commitment to sell made in the USA goods when possible. They have done more than most companies out there in that regard. If not for owning a Rupes LHR 15ES, I would definitely consider this new offering and do research between it and the other polishers offered at Adams. Based on what I've read, the company has dedicated a lot of time to giving people another viable option and this polisher has some nice features. As someone stated, it bridges the gap. I think this is a good middle price point in the line up. Makes business sense to me.

I see myself doing this for the daily drivers which are mostly leases for us. I wouldn't do this for the corvette. that's my therapy car. lol..

glad they finally came out with it though!

Now I'm waiting for the AIO (which they said they won't make, but I think they will lol) and a spray on wax that I can just wipe the car down as I rinse! (slightly simpler process than h2o)

    Curious to see the video!

I bought one the last time they brought them back but to be honest I haven't used it yet. I remember one of the first videos I watched where Dylan was washing a black Camaro vert and the mitt looked YUGE! I don't think the version I have is near that large.

Based on what I am seeing, there are places you can go to have anti rust coatings or oils applied. I would definitely look into that if it were me. Not sure what else to recommend. You definitely need to keep the underside of the vehicle cleaned and that essentially takes water pressure. Rinseless wash cannot do much there unless you can raise the car and take a lot of grimey one use towels and spend a lot of time going over all the nooks and crannies there. Time it takes to do that makes it less than ideal. Undercarriage spray and a fender brush and APC can help to some extent in the wheel wells as the Invisible UC spray will provide some resistance to build up.
