Detailing advice......family & friends
texinfin replied to chops1sc's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
I personally would feel bad about charging my children or friends since it is quite enjoyable to me to do this. Friends and my sons would be assistant detailers and help me out since I am doing this. The daughter/wife are not allowed while I am detailing to be in the same area since of course we all know what they do. -
It seems like Amazon is carrying quite a few Adams products now so don't forgot to look on there. Saw some free and then some $3.99 shipping. The other option is to transfer to the University of Colorado and then you could drive there.

Dilute glass cleaner
texinfin replied to Nathan's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
You could buy some OTC Glass Cleaner. I sometimes have to buy somethings OTC and when my order arrives my wife is the lucky recipient of the OTC product. -
Wheel cleaner stained rotors

If it happens to your 2004 Toyota Camry that is fine. When it happens to a Camaro ZL1 that costs 60k panic mode ensues until you find out everything is ok. -

I used paint sealant on the fridge which is black and the microwave which is black and I think stainless steel and it seems to work. -
Need a little help, new to all of this!
texinfin replied to mjshaw130's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
If it were me I would get some clay. The paint sealant will bond much better to the surface if you use clay. You could do this as you wash, rinse it off then put some detail spray on there, clay, and rinse again if you want. I like to clay with the soap if it has enough lubricity which makes it even quicker. Then you could dry if off and put on your paint sealant and be done. I use two coats of paint sealant which gives you even longer protection. I don't like wax because I like to put another coat of sealant on every few months and a sealant will bond to a sealant. To me you get a great shine with the sealant and more protection. -
I would have liked to see some before and after shots on this to see the protection.

Since we are in the winter months here I think it would be just fine. It is a lot better than nothing at all. -
I wish they would sell the empty 2 ounce bottles with labels and let us add them to our gallon purchases.

I have had some gallon jugs of distilled water get leaks with me never touching them. I wouldn't put anything in a gallon milk jug myself. -
Cost of Sealant vs Longevity Adam's Paint Sealant 8oz.
texinfin replied to Geebee's question in Exterior Protection & Enhancement
He does live in Vegas which would make a difference how long the sealant would last. Even in Texas i refuse to use wax because it is gone in no time. The good thing about the sealant is you can put on another coat three months after without having to clay or remove everything. I always apply two coats of sealant to start with and that seems to help out quite a bit. -
Look up Snobrum and see what you think. You could also move down south but summers here are worse winters up there.

Adams severe swirl remover is the most aggressive polish of these, Adams swirl and haze remover would be next, Adams fine machine polish would be the least aggressive. You should start off the the swirl and haze remover with the orange pads and if that doesn't do the trick step up to the severe swirl remover. I have polishes that old and they are still fine. I have only had one go bad and it turned to a water like consistency.

Interior Detailer Wipes anyone?
texinfin replied to Elvin's topic in Product Polls, Feedback, and Company Input
The wipes that I have used in the past always seem to dry out once you open the container. The only ones that ever made it very long were the baby wipes because they are loaded with solution. -
So what does everyone do for a living?
texinfin replied to Cwilliams's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
On average, a doctoral degree-holder will earn $3.3 million over a lifetime, compared to $2.3 million for a college graduate and $1.3 million for those with a high school diploma. I don't have one either but congratulations to all of those who do. -
Mystery Box With A Twist!
texinfin replied to Matt@Adams's topic in Product Polls, Feedback, and Company Input
I have enough Wax / Sealant for about the next 18 years. So the way my luck runs I would get wax/sealant in the mystery box. I would rather order a mystery box from a certain area knowing that I don't have a lot or for a new person they could get mystery boxes from each area and have a good start to their detailing collection. -
Mystery Box With A Twist!
texinfin replied to Matt@Adams's topic in Product Polls, Feedback, and Company Input
It would be nice to know what you are getting. If they had Mystery boxes for Car Washing, Wheels / Tires, Polishing, Wax / Sealants, Cleaning and Conditioning, and then maybe one or two for other that would make it easier to order. I don't want to get more buttery wax if I already have some and that is the reason i usually don't order any of these. If I knew I could get something from Wheels / Tires I would think about ordering one of those if I was low or didn't have any. -
Mystery Boxes For Canadians! PLEASE START!
texinfin replied to kanewtz's topic in Product Polls, Feedback, and Company Input
They now have better health care and mystery boxes that we don't get. May have to get a visa so I can go up and order some Adams! -
Is machine waxing a thing?
texinfin replied to Micah's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
If you are having problems seeing it just press your pad on a window. You will be able to tell if you have any left then. I do this when I think I am running low. Normally I still have plenty left. -
Adams Interior detailer - don't use on upholstery?
texinfin replied to daleong's question in Interior Cleaning & Care
Here is the simple explanation. Upholstery is the work of providing furniture, especially seats, with padding, springs, webbing, and fabric or leather covers. The word upholstery comes from the Middle English word upholder, which referred to a tradesman who held up his goods. -
