For interior cleaning, I think it is important to vacuum everything before wiping with TID or LC.  This removes the dust so that it does not end up in collecting in the nooks and crannies of the plastic areas (doors, dash, console) or the seams and perforations on the seats.  I vacuum from top to bottom in each seating position, doing the floors last.  I also use dedicated attachments for the floor, so I am not transferring dirt from the floor up and onto the seats, dash or doors.  I also found that a typical brush attachment causes small scratches in the shiny plastics, so I have a soft-bristle dusting brush for plastics and leather, and use the brush that came with the vac for floors.

Here's the attachments I use.  The crevice tool has a flexible end which helps getting into the hard-to-reach places.

The soft-bristle dusting brush on the dash...

...and the seats, paying special attention to the perforations...

    and then the doors.

Then the regular brush on the floors.

After vacuuming the carpets, I spot treat any dirty areas with CUC.

Then scrub with the Cockpit Brush and wipe with a cheap towel.

This area was not completely soiled, so the towel is not filthy...

...but regular light cleaning means not having to use the Bissell.

To show the difference on the brushes, I used the CD Test.  The regular brush on the right half at 100 passes.

Then the soft-bristle dusting brush on the left, also with 100 passes.

The regular brush caused a lot of scratches.

The soft-bristle brush also caused a few scratches, so you would still want to use a light touch and not scrub on any shiny chrome accent trim or other glossy interior surfaces.

chevytruckjsm reacted to Dan@Adams in DT's First Impressions Review of the NEW Foam Gun and NEW Car Shampoo
A lot of friends call me DT and it's just stuck over the years, and I figure there's going to be a lot of threads popping up about these two new products, so I wanted to make a kinda silly thread title for it to stick out

Enough mostly pointless introduction...onto the goodies!

It was 43 degrees out today, but the sun was shining and I couldn't wait any longer to get all the crud and filth off of my car from sitting at Pittsburgh Airport for 2 weeks and then the 90 minute drive back home.

The construction of the foam gun itself simply impressed me.  All parts seem very sturdy and the stainless quick disconnect is very secure, unlike the generic brand foam gun I was using prior to this one.  I used the yellow-green metering tip as recommended, then after attaching the fill tube, I filled up most of the container with water, then added in 2 or 3oz of the new blue goodness and shook it up some.  The wash pad on top of the brand new wash pad is used for the rocker panels and lower rear bumper, hence why it looks a little beat up.  I had a third one, not pictured, that I used as well for the lower half of the doors.

I prepped my wash buckets as I normally do, then added another 2oz onto the wash pad in the bucket.  It foamed up very quickly, and made a very pleasant smell to me.  I had no complaints with the scent of the red shampoo, and the blue shampoo has a great berry scent to it.

It throws A LOT of suds!  The foam gun I used before didn't have any type of metering tip.  It did ok but didn't put out this kind of volume, and didn't seem to last this long, even with a larger container.

I sprayed my GS down very generously to try to get those pictures, and I still had some mixture left in the container when I was done covering the whole car.

Then I did my normal cleaning

Rinsed off very easily, just like the old formula:

I just really liked how you can see all of the pearl in the paint in this shot below

Love the side profile of this car...

The Opel-Buick says thank you for cleaning me in this nasty cold winter weather!

Water wiped off very easily as usual with the Great White Drying Towel.  Since it was so cold I didn't bother to spray any Detail Spray as a drying agent this time.

And there were still some suds left in my wash bucket after I was done, and it probably took me 15 or 20 minutes of drying after rinsing it off, since I was letting my hands warm back up after each section

Thanks for looking.  I'm very pleased with both products, and I expected nothing less.  Keep on rockin' Adam's Team!

As someone who discovered Adam's products during Dylan's sabbatical, it seems kind of funny to me the success or failure that people have placed on Adam's in accordance with Dylan's presence. I mean absolutely offense to Dylan, but Adam's products worked just as well for me even when Dylan wasn't here.  Don't get me wrong, Dylan seems like an awesome guy, he knows his stuff, and I know he played a big role in the development of the current product lineup,  but the products that I have used from Adam's have worked the same whether or not he is was on the payroll.   Have we all forgotten about that guy named Adam? Doesn't he deserve some credit?

Well I finally got the opportunity to detail up my truck after owning it for a a year and a half.

I also recently completed de-badging/molding the entire truck. I also painted the lower valance and grill inserts black.

ignore the dead bugs on the windshield, i took the pictures before I scrubbed it clean.

I use QS on wheels and exhaust, specifically due to its high heat resistance. I also use it on door jambs, under the hood...basically any painted surface that isn't the exterior of the car. Makes cleaning those areas exponentially easier.

I picked up my SS last June and since then have been hooked on Adams products. Ive been detailing it regularly but it was overdue for correction. Wife took son to visit inlaws this weekend so I finally had the time to attempt this. This is my first try at paint correction, cant believe some of you do this professionally. Took me about 20 hours. Here is the steps I took:

    - 2 bucket wash with Shampoo and about an ounce of All Purpose Cleaner to strip wash

    - Clay bar truck and used Waterless wash as lubricant

    - Treated the window trim and seals with VRT so polish didnt stain and make it easy to clean up

    - Taped the remaining areas and emblems that i didnt want polish on or that could damage pads

    - Corrected truck using a polisher from Harbor Freight. Yes i know harbor freight has some cheap stuff but this had really good reviews and actually did the job quite well for its price. When comparing to videos of the PC it appears the HF one moves faster (So reduce speed a bit form the PC videos) and vibrates a bit more (My hand hurts like hell)

    - At first to get hang of it I did some test panels switching from correcting to finishing to get technique down before moving to larger area. I did use the foam pads on this truck but feel that maybe the microfiber ones would have been the better option. After I figured out best way to do it and how many passes were needed I corrected about 2-3 sections then switched back to finishing and repeated until completion.

    - I did have to use the focus pads on drill a lot. There were quite a few deep scratches that it needed to be used on as well as the pillars and grille.

    - I then applied Brilliant Glaze (first time trying, got it in mystery box)

    - Followed that up with Liquid Paint Sealant on the grey sealing pad. I used Microfiber applicator for pillars and grille. For those of you wondering if you need to use machine to apply I would highly recommend it. When applying by hand it was kind of difficult to make a thin even layer. Very easy and fast with machine.

-Finally I applied Buttery wax and finished up with VRT on tires and went back over trim.

-BTW I love borderless blue towels. By far the best ones I have and made removing the product very easy. I have a lot of the discontinued silver ones, they arent bad but the blues are so much better. Need to get more.

Got some before pics, 50/50 shots and finished ones. Sorry I suck with a camera trying to get pics of the scratches and swirls
