PolandDogs reacted to Lee in New to polished wheels
I realized I never put up a picture of my wheels after the first time i polished them up real good. This was one pass of the #1 metal polish and 2 passes with the #2 polish. I was pretty pleased with how them came out.

Well here they are finally mounted and balanced and got just enough time to put them on last night when i got home, with a quick wipe of detail spray, no tire shine on yet.

I'm so jealous, those are the exact wheels I want for my GTO, just in black chrome.

They look great on her. Have fun getting them full of brake dust from some good hard fun driving.

I loved the look of CCW's on my Firehawk....but it was just too much upkeep for a daily driver and my OCD drove me wild. (Big brake kit + CCW's + daily driving = imperfections that just drove me nuts!!!)
Props to everyone who has raw aluminum wheels...I have a lot of respect for the hours put into cleaning them!!

Can't wait to see pics when mounted. I have contemplated some CCW Classics for my Sonic Blue Cobra. Saving my pennies.

Correct, you don't have to worry about burning clear coat. But if it as spins too fast it will build heat and melt the lens. So be sure to keep it cool.

I used a drill and the drill adapter, so I would only have 1 pad going...I have a cyclo, plus a drill spins faster and for headlights you don't have to worry about burning through clearcut or anything

I need to do this on my dad's F150 and my sisters Focus, but only have the porter cable

If you can get the pad on the light, but you have to watch for edges. I've done several sets and most have been smaller lights so I use either a drill or Rupes mini. -

Great job Matt. I still have some of the old Severe Swirl Remover and some green 4" pads that I use on headlights. The difference is amazing.

They used to. If you watch one of the old videos of Adam doing some scratch removal he uses them.

Had some decent weather over the weekend still in WV and thought I would polish my headlights on my daily driver a 2004 Toyota Tacoma, they were starting to look pretty bad and I have never touched them before and I thought they ended up coming out great.
My attack method-
-Clay Bar'd with Detail Spray
-Drill with Microfiber Pad then Foam Pad with Paint Correcting Polish
-Drill with Microfiber Pad then Foam Pad with Paint Finishing Polish
-Quick Sealant
-Finished with Americana Wax

Nah had 12inch wide on my Dakota RT and wanted more for cornering....but people kept trying to tell me that a pickup truck should not corner well at 135....bah what do THEY know!

They look great, just gotta keep some coating on them now to help protect them from the elements out there.
