  1. Quick bump on this. After the machine super sealant has done its job in 30min or whatever it says on the bottle, you check for hazing and wipe with detail spray if required. Then can you just drive it out and use as normal?
  2. My question on this is: Can you put them in the dryer at either "air dry" or low heat? For either foam or microfiber?
  3. I have read several threads on the subject but I'd like some input on my particular situation. The stripes I am about to work on cover pretty much the entire hood, roof and trunk area and yes they are the gloss type. The also have the same amount of swirls than the actual paint. Keeping in mind what I currently have on hand: - Haze and Swirl remover (old school I know) - Fine machine polish - Machine super sealant - Revive polish - I have more stuff but those are the most relevant for the situation. - Flex - PC - Red hand applicator - Blue hand applicator - Orange hand applicator What is the best way to tackle this? All by hands? If so using which product with which applicator? Would orange applicator with HSR be too aggressive? What about machine to save some time and get better result? Would the PC be gentle enough to tackle this? If so at what speed? and again which product?
  4. Your wash frequency is about the same as mine but I don't use tire shine at every wash given that it lasts me about 2 washes. I guess I'm cheap on my applications lol. I did use the glossy method for the 1st time I did use more than the matte black method
  5. I'd go with Tire Shine because it gives you either the matte black look or the super glossy look depending on how you apply it and it lasts a few weeks usually. I go through half a bottle a year and I have 2 vehicles, just to give you an idea on how little you need to use and how long it lasts
  6. Clear plastidip like the others said for next time Now to remove what you got now I would think that a clay bar should do the trick?
  7. I've had great success with leather and interior cleaner to remove pen from beige cloth seats. Try in an inconspicuous area first, spray once on a adam's grey utility towel and give it a good rub. I then let it dry overnight and do it again the next day if required. It takes me about 1 or 2 passess to get it all out
  8. In my mind they are overkill. I don't see how your orange pads/product would leave such a mess behind that you would need "cutting power" on the finishing polish. Ek, sometimes you don't even need the finishing polish after the correcting polish given that Adam's correcting polish is so well balanced. Maybe if you still have the old Swirl and Haze remover which doesn't finish as well as the new correcting polish but even then, it's not necessary in my opinion. The foam pad works perfectly with the finishing polish when it's even required
  9. You are missing the point here, call them and they will make it very right as always.
  10. So did he get the tint after all?
  11. When I use the super glossy method hereknown as the slig method, I apply it, let it dry for 30min, use the tire block to remove excess and spread evenly and let it sit overnight. It will be odd at first because it will be very oily to the touch even the next days but somehow it doesn't sling...
  12. I used it as a dry application and it ended up staining my double soft pretty bad even after washing the towel almost immediately after. Am I alone?
  13. I didn't think of taking pictures at the time. According to Adam's video, there was no need to prime the MF pads with detail spray. I put a bit more product on the MF pad, without priming and just went at it. The results were still good, I just found it weird that it wouldn't flash. I still have about half a bottle of H&S and Fine machine polish and they still give me decent results so I'll do my best to use it up then upgrade the products and get those new pads as well.
  14. Is it me or with the MF, the swirls and haze remover (I know I know) just won't flash... I ended up doing back and forth, up and down, back and forth, up and down (2 passes I guess) then stopped there. With the foam it flashes almost after the 1st pass. I tried more passes just to see where it would get me and it still won't flash. I am using the flex. Thoughts?
  15. Brillant black Challenger vs Flex. Flex won. Not sure why the pic is sideways but you get the just of it
  16. If you fear it's too dirty, it probably is. I would suggest the rinseless wash in your case. I reserve the waterless wash for dust only or if I got caught in a 15min rain shower. If I get caught in a full day of rain it is rinseless at the minimum or full wash depending. More than 1 day, it is definitely full wash no matter what.
  17. I've just starting getting into it more seriously, bought most of the gear and been educating myself a lot lately on the subject. So far that's all I have worth showing. f/4.8 1/30 Iso 100 18-140mm at 52mm Polarized filter (Probably should've gone with a smaller aperture) F/16 1/15 Iso 100 18-140mm at 140mm
  18. Very nice! I see you are a fan of long exposures and filters! If I may; on the flower shot, where did you take your meter reading from?
  19. That much of a difference from pads and newer products, interesting. Makes me want to upgrade too lol
  20. Let's say you are out a car show and it starts to rain while you are parked. It rains for about 1 hour and you just happen to have a bucket of water in your trunk with some HGG and the appropriate towels. Would it be safe to go over the car with the HGG only when the rain stops?
  21. My own issues when the PC was my primary machine were: 1) Pads were too big (I downgraded to 5in backing plate and 5.5in pads) 2) I was almost using a Flex speed of movement, I had to slow way down to about 10 sec to go across 2 feet. Yes it took forever but I didn't have to do 10 passes to get it right. Maybe 2 or 3 is usually what was required. With the PC is also entirely possible that the job is just too much for the machine (I'm thinking 10 year old vehicle that has never been polished...). You should at least get 90% right with the PC but that other 10% could be near impossible depending on conditions. I am still using the "old stuff": swirls and haze remover and machine super sealant
