  1. Yep the GTS up until 2010 as well as the S trim I believe (4.8L) but don't quote me with a 6MT - Second Gen was only available in base model 3.6L VR6 with the 6MT -

First gen 6MT's super rare!!!  And you know I love my rare vehicles - and yes I'm sure the build quality and Porsche quality is impeccable, I remember sitting in a Cayenne S about 10 years ago and although my mom had the same car basically (V8 Touareg) the Cayenne just felt so much sportier and well appointed, and even with the lowly 6 cylinder it sounded intoxicating to drive!

Wow! Absolutely beautiful cars you have there! The paint on both looks great!

    Great post and awesome cars!

    Beautiful vehicle and great pics!

Thanks guys! It's a dream being realized.

RickyBobby- dude....you DEFINITELY need to get the Cayenne. However, *WARNING* - the difference in quality to everything else I've EVER been in is so drastic!

I literally just took my Cayenne for a 15 minute drive around my area at 1am because it is SOOO enjoyable to drive. Granted I'm a true driving enthusiast....But I get the feeling you (at a minimum) appreciate fine engineering, and so my point is.....You will be ruined after experiencing a Porsche. At least I was! Everything else pales in comparison now.

I also attached another pic I just posted on IG. The top one was the gray Cayenne S eHybrid I bought in late December. Combined power was 406 HP and 4XX TQ. 0-60 is 5.4. The bottom is the Cayenne S I just bought at the end of April. Ouch. But it was well worth it. New one has 420hp and 4XX+ TQ twin turn 3.6V6. Towing capacity is 7700.

  2. New champ of the forum Phil! Wow. Amazing rides and I know how hard you work - you aren't just a trust fund kid or something. Amazing. And may I say I've been looking for a 6MT Cayenne GTS for months to replace my 3 pedal E53 but haven't found the right color combo with low enough miles.

Ok...so it looks like a back in 2008-2010 you could get one with a M6. Very cool! WARNING- if you appreciate the finer things and are a 'driver'......once you go Porsche you'll never want to go back! Lol

  3. Its 2am here and Im loving all of your pictures! Fantastic vehicles and the paint sure does look good. Must be a dream to own and drive them

Thanks Justin! Absolutely a dream come true!

Took 17 years working on my career, no degree and a failed marriage to get to where I am now. I've been fortunate to have great parents, opportunities and the guts to act.

I didn't grow up with these cars / big money, so I'm fully aware of how fortunate I am and I've been 'stopping to smell the roses' more often now.

  4. Being I'm new to Porsche...really any vehicle of this value....I am blown away by the level of quality finish on them.... In particular the GT3's GT Silver is spectacular!!! But up close the 'Carrera White Metallic' on the Cayenne is absolutely stunning! Both colors are $3k+ special color options. Ouch. But amazing colors.

Now I'm sure many on here could take them to an ever higher level of shine. But for me, they are more than perfect.

Of course, as you can see, even though I don't post much anymore, my loyalty to the Adam's 'team' is steadfast!!

I've only ever used the GDWM and one application of G&G in the 5 months I've owned it. Detail spray used every other washing. But the pic of the car on the lift is before I ever even washed it as the car had 50 miles. Went from dealer straight to Fabspeed and Dougherty Automovite for the track preparation.

    Happy motoring!

  5. If it were me, I would start with a clay bar and see if that worked.  Then I would try Tarminator.  Whether it would work or not, I don't know.  But I think it would.  Then re-apply your sealant and or wax.

Good idea. Now why didn't I think of that!! Lol

Great pictures! I bet that car is a blast on the track.

Thanks bud! It IS!!!! Porsche is in a whole diff league from anything I've ever experienced!

Start buying Tarminator by the case.

    Lol! Dually noted!

  6. Hello - it's been a while since I've been on the forum. My focus shifted from detailing to road course driving and so all my online time is spent researching and ordering parts, and general track / driving / etc research.

Anyway, as you can see from the pic, just after 4 track days.... Added a coupe other pics, including the Cayenne, acting as the 'tow rig' for the GT3.

QUESTION: what do you suggest / use to get rubber marks off?

  7. Hey guys... It's been some time. I was busy getting rid of my M5 and replacing it with a '16 GT3 and a 16' Cayenne S.

I am thrilled with the Porsche quality and drive.

As you can see, I am having vinyl graphics applied to the GT.

So my question is how do I change my cleaning routine?

For example...when I'm applying wax or sealant, or G&G... Can I just swipe right across the vinyl? Or do I need to ensure I don't hit the edge of the vinyl as to not cause build up of product?

    Any insight is appreciated.

  8. Fletch.

    What did I win?

DUUUUUUUDE.... we ARE kindred spirits! Literally my all time favorite flick. I could act the entire movie as I've seen it no less than 100 times without a doubt!

Now for bonus points... What disguise was he in when he said it? And for triple bonus, who did he say it to?

And you win my admiration.... Which, if you ask anyone who knows me will tell you is NOT easy to get!

  9. QS helps a ton with making brake dust fall right off. Just need car wash soap and brushes.

Coatings on wheels make it even easier.

Oh man... I absolutely use QS on my wheels. It's not that the brake dust is caked on...it's just that the car produces a TON of it. And my wheels have a lot of crannies that make the job a bit more difficult.

    See pics...

  10. More shine, bro!

Even though you can't see swirls or scratches, there will be micro-scratching that can't be seen with even the best eyesight, and this reduces the amount of shine.

Polishing out these micro-scratches will give you more shine.  I know this because I saw the difference it made on my truck.  First two major details, no polishing, and triple layered with LPS + BG + APW.  Third detail, two-step correction, and way more shine.  And this was with only a coat of LPS, no glaze or wax like I used previous.

Crap! You did it again Dan! Now I'm going to have to break out the Cyclo! Damn you!!! ; )

  11. Jack it up and go to town on the undercarriage!

What's the point on a daily driver? Sincere question.

To me it seems like I could do better things with my time.

If it was a garage queen, show car...sure.

Now, I DO use my power washer and undercarriage sprayer once every other month to knock off as much as I can without jacking it up and going crazy.

  12. Hey now no picking on Daily Drivers....I spend all my time detailing my DD, and shes a ford F-250. So go give your DD some love.

The M is my DD and currently sees all my detailing work as I don't have my toy yet.

But for me... I care to only go to a certain level of detailing on my DD as it will get filthy after one short drive. Example- my brakes (while they perform awesome) produce a TON of brake dust. I literally have to wipe my wheels down 3-6 times a week. So I only do a full wheel detail about once a month/every other month. Keep in mind my wheels have a LOT of nooks and crannies being they're 3-piece.

Additionally, I'll do a full on, 100% wheel detail once I take them off for the winter. This will include polishing and sealing.

  13. I'm sure they exist.... Both of my cars are a similar gray color to your M5, and one of them I can see some scratches and imperfections in daylight that I want to get rid of. This is why I'm debating so heavily about polishers because they'll most be on sealant/glaze duty because the gray hides everything else so well. Never know what you have to gain. At least throw some Finishing Polish on it.

I'm sure they exist as well. And I tried looking for swirls/scratches in sunlight. I just don't see them.

So, I can't see spending time polishing when I can't see any improvement. It will actually drive me nuts as I won't be able to see any results. No results don't interest me.
