When I start seeing lint.
When is that APPROXIMATELY...? A year...two...more...?
-
Hey guys.... When do you toss your towels?
I've got some that are going on 2-3 years old. Several have stains that won't come out. I use MFR to wash them. Though, I keep the Rinseless wash and G&G towels in a pre-soak with tap water and All Clear in a bucket. Sometimes they sit in there for several weeks until I do a load of laundry. Some are def feeling rougher than when they were new.
So, how do YOU know when to toss / replace a towel?

Sorry for the confusion Phil. The product name was changed from "Liquid Paint Sealant" to just "Paint Sealant".
HGG is great on matte vinyl, just takes a little different technique to get good results without too much extra work to get it looking even.
Here's a post on cleaning and sealing matte vinyl:

Ahhhh... Got it bud! Thanks!
Oh, and SWEET bottle holders on the seat! As I've said before...love your ingenuity! My dad and I are very similar. We would certainly work well together!

No Paint Sealant on matte vinyl.
Works fine on gloss vinyl, but be careful not to get build-up on the edges. Apply and remove along the direction of the edges, not back-and-forth across the edges.
'NO paint sealant' on any matte vinyl..? Even G&G?
I ask cause I've used G&G a couple times without any issue. So I was wondering just about LPS.
Can you expand?

Hey guys.... Any insight, advice, experience, etc...on applying LPS over vinyl..?

I don't see VIR on there anywhere!
Give me some time....I'm only 2-3 months in to this sport!!! ; )

Cool shot! Which track do you prefer, Lightning or Thunderbolt?
Well, that's hard. They both have very different attributes, but I think I like Lightning a bit more due to the 'The Bowl' and then the long straight out of it are pretty damn awesome!
Do you go with PCA ever? I'm there this weekend in fact! I go at least twice a month. 3 times 6 days in June alone. I LOVE driving!

Looking good! What are the "squiggles"?
Race courses
Rich - chops1sc is correct. They are the courses ('circuits') I've completed (I.e. DOMINATED!

I would say:
1. If it's a lighter color and you are not crazy on it being 'prrfect'....then go for it.
2. If darker, forget it.
The question is: How much time do you want to spend dusting the car? Personally, I cannot do a Wateless Wash without sweating. Because of this, I'm going to use a CA duster for the times I just want the pollen / dust off the car.
As long as it's not a regular practice, I believe the paint correction won't be too bad

If you have access to a pressure washer, use that carefully and try to blast everything off. During washing try soaking it with APC to loosen it, if that doesn't work, try a little wheel cleaner (it has the power to remove tar and road/track contamination). Last resort would be the clay bar, as Adam has told us before, the safest way to clean your car is to not make contact with it. If you do clay, hit the section with Revive Hand Polish afterward to diminish any damage that was done from rubbing clay over the heavy contamination. Clay or not, if you use APC or wheel cleaner you will have to put sealant over the section as APC and wheel cleaner strip protection. Hope this helps.
Thanks Ematt. I have a Power Washer. It doesn't take it off. I haven't tried the clay bar or APC yet either.

Tarminator and clay bar have worked for me after driving on the track.
Off topic, I see you're in southeast PA. You drive on the track with PCA Riesentoter by chance?
Hey Scuba-
My 'home chapter' with PCA is Riesentoter... and I have run with them on track. However, I run with any PCA chapter... and I'll be trying 'TrackTime4Cars' soon. I'll also eventually check out NASA and SCCA.

Sooooo jealous of that race car...
Nice to see you back on the forum!
Hey bud. Thanks! It's a long time dream coming true! My passion is DRIVING. And all the prep, etc...takes a lot of time... hence the lack of my presence here. And the detailing hobby is driven by my need to drive and admire CLEAN cars.

As long as the rotors are 100% completely cooled down and you are not working in sunlight or letting the product dry then I would tell you no issues on your rotors.
My buddy has carbon ceramic brakes on his F80 M3 and no problems.
I can always count on you, bud! Thanks!
-
Does anyone know if Deep Wheel Cleaner is safe to use on carbon ceramic brake rotors?
I don't intend to 'soak' the rotor with DWC.... But it's going to get sprayed while applying the product to my wheels.
Thanks for any help.

Thanks Phil, I don't see those on their site anymore.
But I looked at your thread and you made great use of that space in the garage. Nice choices on everything and looks great.
Ll
They might still make them for you. I would give them a call and inquire. Can't hurt to check...oooooo
Thanks man!

Garage looks nice, but it needs to be bigger so you can get a real air compressor.
I've never had a problem with it for my purposes. I only use it for my tires and the blow gun attachment. And the occasional staple/finish/brad/framing nail gun(s).

Hey PT3, who makes those shelf/racks? Those are pretty nice.
Nice setup.
I can dig it, and like rrmccabe, I wanna know about those shelves.
I want some of those shelves!
This thread has all the info on my (and others) garage build and details. http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/28836-garage-build-great-way-to-store-your-adams/page-5?do=findComment&comment=481300
I recall they were from Blazin Bell Tech. If you are going to spend over $500 I would call and see what kind of 'package deal' you can get.
I got like $1400 of stuff for like $1-1000

some folks were asking for info on parts used.... So I'm bringing this thread back from the dead.

Nice setup!! Banner is just the right touch.
Here's my favorite Adam's banner.
Now THAT'S a BANNER! NICE!
