  1. I never drive my truck with the windows down and it doesn't get hot enough to use AC. On an occasion even my blue old style glass towels will grab. So I don't think that is a factor. When mine grab I gave the window a little extra spray and it solved my problem.
  2. I can drive it any time. I've known the owner for about 20 years. Thanks guys. I'm still learning a few things on the settings with my Flex. Since this is the first black car I've done so far and could really see the results. He hates those wheels but I was shocked how well they came back to being presentable. He is thinking about going to a C5 Vette wheel.
  3. It took about 10 hours to bring back.
  4. This is a Maggie boosted GTO a friend of mine had been neglecting the paint as he built everything else to make it an 11 second street car. Before. During. After.
  5. I have one uncovered Bird (that is red) that at times had to go outside so I can work on something else in the garage. Then another Bird (that is black) that is parked on squares of carpet and has a cover on it. Haven't gotten any scratches yet. Up here we have heated garages and both cars are in a comfortable 68*. The part I get tired of, is dusting off a car that barely goes outside. So it doesn't get out to even wash with water. So at some point I'll be getting a nice cover for it. I'm also looking for a cover to put over our Solstice.
  6. I prefer a short bristled brush also. I'm using my short bristled one I've had for 20 years because it works so well and I it allows me to get the edge without hitting the rim.
  7. Went for a quick 1 mile hike before it got too cold.
  8. Great tool and I use it a lot.Though, I have the same issue. Because of the red grip spinning it's hard on my arthritic hands.
  9. Manager at an auto glass repair and replacement shop. Getting to work on cool and expensive cars at times. Like this Boyd Coddington built ford. Had to make a new door glass. My son stopped by to visit. He was so mad when he had to get out to go.
  10. Cool. I've gotten 2 apps so far but one is very quick and simple so I'm using it the most. I've been trying to do more with the manual settings and just didn't ever find a simple quick settings guide until now. I've always found books that over complicated them for me. So I have always just resorted back to the full auto setting. I am using the auto HDR setting and have been pretty happy with the results so far.
  11. From my hike on Sunday. This is 3500' alt. Taken with my Sony A6000. I found an app that is helping me with my camera settings.
  12. Went for a hike in the mountains and got the TBSS pretty dirty on a dirt road. The rim and tire is grey from all the dirt.
  13. Nice work. I wish mine stayed like that for more then one day after I clean it.
  14. That's true. I have a black and a red WS6 and they shine up nice. My Silverstone TBSS isn't as noticeable but does get good reflections in the paint.
  15. Looks like a beast. That red shined up nicely.
  16. Nice low mile find. The detail turned out great.
  17. Took him for his first real hike.
  18. Just drill 1/4" holes in the ends below the grab handles, allowing air in at both ends of the tote.
  19. Your welcome. If I get a chance to try different things out with them and get a chance to get pictures this summer I'll post them up.
  20. My canon is just the xsi. I have the standard 18-55 lens but I also have the 55-250 lens also and love that for the far away wildlife shots. I have a few lens filters I play with when I'm shooting my cars. I haven't had a chance to do a side by side comparison. I'm sure the Sony with higher megapixel and technology will be a little better since a lot of my pics I end up just using the auto setting because with wildlife I don't get any setup time. I'm still learning about the manual setting every time I pick up my camera because I'll forget some things, since I don't get to shoot much. I do like the smaller size of the Sony so it's easier to transport, I am also liking the ability to shoot in HDR. It also shoots in the dark better so I can shoot our northern lights too. So for me if I know I'll need my longer lense I'm using my canon and if I need ease of transport I'm using my Sony.
  21. Had a sunny day yesterday and got to try out some new products from the last big sale. Washed our Pontiac Solstice. First try with the wheel cleaner and wheel woolie. It worked great cleaning the barrel of the rim. They were always pretty clean from the other brand product I was using. But I could never get this brake dust stripe off, until now. The new videos have made me try cleaning the opening of the exhaust tip better so I used APC and a old rag to scrub the inside and got it cleaned up noticeably better. Not sure if it can get the rest of the baked on carbon off of it, but I'll try next wash again. Finally picked up a sidekick. Used if for blasting the emblems, mirrors, seams. I'm amazed of how quiet it was. I had been worried if it was going to be louder then my shop vac, (I sometimes like to wear ear plugs with it since it's pretty loud). Adams may want to add that to the product description list. I would have bought it sooner If I had known how quiet it is. Another great addition to the washing arsenal. Also did a leather clean and then conditioned on my TBSS. I tried my new cockpit brush on my alcantra/ suede inserts. Worked great. Even being careful with the brush. It looks like I scratched or heavy rub mark the leather around the suede insert though with the wooden handle in a couple of spots as I tried to brush out the seam. So I'll have to try a different angles to keep from doing it again.
  22. Here is another pic with the castle lit up with colors.
  23. Thanks. I'll see and let you know. I wouldn't mind hitting up some beaches and other things down there. We can pretty much plan anything, not necessarily locked into Disney. If he gets to play in water.
  24. That makes sense. We did a 5 day pass. But it's hard on a 4 year old to do the long days without a break. So we ended up skipping a day. So we could just relax. My flight was 11 hours, flew all night, 4 hour time change plus I was flying when we did our spring daylights savings time. So I was drained too. Fo us we lose pretty much 2 days of vacation just because of the length of the flights.
