That's actually amazing how you set up that cart. It boggles my mind why they are always so much money.

I would like them color coded like the polishing pads.
I have a bunch from chain stores.
It would help when I wash them to know what they were used for.

Just orderd a new bottle of Metal Polish.  It came with the new top.  I have to say I'm not a fan.   Worked fine for dispensing.  But in order to close it you waste a whole pump of polish.   I thought maybe I'll just leave it up but then I can't shake up the bottle.  Luckily I kept the old top.  Am I missing something?

Been doing this for 6 years and still have my original towels including the old black utility towels that turned all my white drying towels gray.

As long as they aren't deep to were your finger nail catches in them they should come out. Just be careful on any edges , plastics and bumper covers........

    Brian,

The 4" Orange Microfiber pads on the drill backing plate used on a cordless drill should take care of those spots, much quicker and easier than trying to get them 100% corrected using any machine other than possibly a Flex.

I recently finished a 100% correction on a black Corvette that sat uncovered for the last 5 years in an industrial building. Hoping to get pictures of that posted soon.

I used a Cyclo on that, spent about 2 - 3 hours per panel, but car is now perfect.

Total time spent only correcting and polishing on that project was about 40 hours, but it will be a show car, not a daily driver, etc.

There were occasions where I used the 4" pad on a cordless drill to remove the "random isolated damage" scratches, etc. and if you watch the Adam's videos on paint Correction, Adam himself explains the process and the tools required to complete it.

Car looks great, and here is hoping you can get it as perfect as it possibly can get!

I wouldn't wetsand that scratch out without having a paint thickness gauge. Typical amount of clearcoat is around 50 microns, I wouldn't want to go much past 15 removed before compounding.

If the water spots aren't too bad the 4" Focus pads may work......

Those would be RIDS (random isolated deeper scratches). Live with them, or try your hand at wet sanding, or rotary buffing with 4" pads and the drill

I have a new material coming down the pipe that will really flip this dynamic on its head - use like clay, rinse like media. Still in very early testing, but so far very promising.

    At least the glass cleaner....

Makes my aquarium glass look brand new.  When you pay extra for low iron/extra clear glass it's worth it to keep it clean.  I know people use it for house windows and such but it works great for aquarium glass!  The bottle was sitting next to the tank so I thought I'd snap a photo.

How warm was the panel? Working without a garage gives some interesting challenges with polishing.

Do you have a good LED flashlight? It would probably help you identify any haze/scratches in the paint.

What kind of pressure are you using? If you haven't done so I suggest putting a mark with a sharpie on the side of your pads so you can make sure they are always rotating. If they aren't rotating you are using too much pressure. What is your arm speed like? 1 inch per second is the general rule of thumb with a DA style polisher.

How much product are you using? Are you using the MF pads or foam pads? Either way priming the whole face of the pad with polish helps a ton. You don't want excess product, but enough to cover the whole face of the pad.

Try doing the top of the trunk. Take a piece of masking tape and tape off half the trunk. Polish right up to the tape. Make 4-5 passes on that half of the trunk with orange pad and correcting polish. Peel the tape off and wipe the polish residue off with a single/double soft towel. Inspect your results in the sun or with the LED light.

Either your paint is already perfect, your technique is off, or you have the hardest paint on earth.

Hey guys new forum member from East Tn, Been an using Adam Polishes for 3-4 years now. Picked up a 13 Corvette with the Anniversary package and Stripe Package. What's the best Adams Product for the stripes? I'm assuming they should only be hand applied not machine....4300 mile car so no issues with the stripes just want to maintain them as well as possible...

Sweet setup Gary!  Looks sharp and very well organized.

You just need to figure out how to get a utility sink in there.  The very first thing I did after moving in to my current place was to put sinks in the garage and laundry room.  I can't imagine not having one in my "detailing shop".

Is your garage attached to the house?  Any bathrooms or kitchens on the other sides of any of those garage walls?  Basement in the house?  Can you get a drain and supply lines from there?

Howdy to all my new Adam's friends.  I'm a Texas guy so my two favorite things to do on the weekend are smoke a brisket and detail my pickup.

Found Adam's products after lurking in Tacoma World website and am hooked like a junkie on meth.  In fact, I'm starting to get the shakes because I haven't ordered anything in a couple of weeks.  I need my fix, man!

    Here's my "detailing shop"

I upgraded from the regular single light bulb ceiling light to 3 higher power shop light on the ceiling.  (thinking to add a couple more later)

Wall mount ShopVac, and my power washer.

Recently added the cord reel.  Love it!  I hate manually reeling the cords/hoses/extension cord.

    Varies tools & brushes.

As others had said, it's just the life here or everywhere.  I have a black car, and even parked inside the garage, I swear the car is cover with pollen/dust the next morning after I washed the car!

One thing I would do differently is not to use detail spray as it contain some degree of wax and wax is a good attraction for pollen.  I think the new HGG might be a better drying/protection option for the current time of the year.

    Just my $0.02.

The white mf pad is out of stock and we're considering eliminating it all together since it seems the overwhelming majority of people end up finishing with white foam instead. So people didn't have to go without the pad they've paid for though we're including that black one, which is identical to the white in all ways except for color.
