  1. My Dad had been wanting me to detail his '99 Mustang Cobra convertible for a while now and I finally got around to it while he's out of town. I spent all day just doing the paint correction and I'm amazed at the improvement. I guess I have to do the interior tomorrow so it looks as nice as the exterior. I used my Rupes 15 and did 2 passes with a microfiber pad and 1 pass with the white foam pad. Then I joined the camp of Brilliant Glaze before Paint Sealant, only because I needed the BG to get the polish residue off. It wouldn't budge.
  2. Yeah, if you're going to use a solvent, there are much safer ones to use than brake clean. It's pretty strong.
  3. Sounds like it must be a problem with certain materials, because I've never had an issue in either of my cars either. I love it.
  4. How old is your car? The newer a car is, the more you have off-gassing from some of the plastic materials in the car that can cause a haze on the windows.
  5. You could just leave the panels that you do unprotected for a couple of days until you get the sealant. It's not that big of a deal. And worrying about similar longevity on panels that you seal within a matter of days or even weeks apart is overkill. Especially if you do a second coat later.
  6. Why not just do the paint sealant on each panel after you correct? It doesn't take any longer than doing buttery wax. And then if you wanted to, you could do a second coat over the whole car when you finish.
  7. I have not used a cyclo, but I also would recommend the Rupes 15. It's a better comparison to the G15 also as they are the same type of machine. Rupes is the original design and of high quality engineering. I'm not saying the G15 is not high quality because I don't know, but I consider it a knockoff. And no one is trying to push you away. They're just not well informed on Griot's products since most people are exclusive Adam's users. And they're not willing to offer much advice on competitor's products as that is frowned upon here. It's a private forum, paid for by Adam. So no reason for him to allow discussion on competitor's products.
  8. Good idea. I've got a Sun Joe SPX3000 which is currently $146.99 on Amazon and highly rated. It is 2030 PSI (pretty high for an electric) and 1.76 GPM. I've only used it maybe 10 times but I've been happy with it. And I've only used my MTM foam cannon once with it. It was probably somewhere in the middle of shaving cream and runny, but I never took the time to dial it in perfectly. And I don't think I had to make any modifications to work, but the Adam's foam cannon could be different. It uses standard fittings though, where I think the Karcher's usually have their own style fittings.
  9. Not Adam's related but I once spilled a beer into a wireless keyboard and it stopped working. My dad wanted it and he took the batteries out and rinsed it under a faucet and let it dry thoroughly. Worked again after that.
  10. Might have overworked the polish since you said the paint was pretty bad. It can really dry out and be hard to remove if you work it too long.
  11. I like having an electric pressure washer, but I agree with the hassle part. I bought a foam lance and only used it once because I didn't like switching back and forth between hose and pressure washer.
  12. No offense Dan but, in the interest of customer satisfaction, you should probably just turn that feature off if you don't have the manpower to handle it. That way people won't even be able to leave messages if there's no one with time to reply to them.
  13. I never heard back on the chat message that I left on Thursday either. But I sent an email to orders@adamspolishes.com yesterday and Ben took care of my issue today. So try that if you haven't already.
  14. I have heard that Rinseless has water softening properties in it, but I can't say that for sure. I use tap water when I do Rinseless washes so I'm not using a gallon or two of distilled every time I wash. But I do use distilled water when I mix a bottle for pre-soak or clay lube. As for the towels, they will get a blue tint to them but that doesn't mean they aren't clean. It makes it easy to dedicate certain towels for Rinseless since it sort of color codes them.
  15. I figured you must be overloaded because I sent one yesterday and didn't hear anything yet. Take your time though, I understand. Might be time to add some more staff to be able to keep up with the customer service levels you like to be able to provide.
  16. I believe Adam has also mentioned about how he doesn't want beginners to have to dilute their own products and possibly make mistakes that would cause them to have bad results and be unhappy. Since he offers a 110% guarantee, he wants to be sure the products are being used as intended and not too weak or too strong. It makes sense from a customer service perspective.
  17. I did that recently on some wheels on my father in law's car. It still worked great at 1:1 and they were pretty dirty.
  18. It's normal. It doesn't completely dry like you think it would. If you wipe it with a towel, it is better though.
  19. And since no one else has said it yet - you do not need to buy anything specialized for black cars. And that other place just has too many choices that it's hard to figure out what to use. Adam's is the way to go. Simple product line, great customer service and 110% guarantee.
  20. It's usually just a rounded metal bar that they slide down inside the door and push them out. But there is definitely skill involved and you don't want to try it at home.
  21. And they were all on the same door? That's expensive for all being on the same panel. At least they're gone though.
  22. At least 30 days. You should be good after that. That's what most body shops say.
  23. I totally forgot about the 32oz size and I even got one on my last order. I would agree that the 32oz is the way to go. It's a better value over the 16oz and plenty to last you for awhile, probably more than a year unless you use it all the time. A gallon is a little much to start with if you've never even tried it before.
  24. You can absolutely do a Rinseless wash on that.
