  1. Wow, looks amazing. You definitely did it right with that color and with the carbon fiber and alcantara.
  2. Yes it is! I sold my father in law on his first Adam's order by cleaning both sets of his Z4M wheels. They were really dirty and came so clean that I dried them with a towel and barely even got the towel dirty. Wheel Cleaner is awesome!
  3. On my very first Adam's detail that I did early last summer on my wife's car, all I did was clay, Revive & Buttery Wax. It looked amazing and stayed that way for a long time. I still plan on doing a machine polish here pretty soon on it to make it look as good as possible.
  4. Agreed. Razor blades and steel wool are safe on glass when used correctly and require much less effort than claying. But good to see that the clay worked for you. Hopefully you won't have too many issues on the paint then.
  5. Isn't the reflective part always behind the glass? I've never had an issue with razor blades or steel wool on side mirrors.
  6. I've never tried this, but I've heard that the newer 3000-5000 grit sanding discs work on orange peel without being so aggressive that it's easy to cause damage.
  7. If you want to try just leveling it, I agree with the sanding recommendation. If you still want to completely remove it, I would go with lacquer thinner. It should still come off pretty easily without hurting the regular clear. I never use the clear coat when I touch something up. It always looks worse than just using the paint.
  8. If you want to know what you are getting or need a certain product, it's always best to just order that product. You can order it along with a mystery box and then you get what you need and some mystery products as well.
  9. If it looks good to you, then there is no need. I would probably give it a once over with finishing polish if it were me though. It will take care of anything minor that you might not really see and give you a little better shine.
  10. You won't be able to fix it, but you could try a spot and see what happens. I've never tried, but you might be able to take some of the whiteness out of it and make it look better. It will come back though.
  11. Sounds like a business opportunity. Buy body panels with rough paint, polish them and resell them. Probably not much money in it though.
  12. Wait at least 30 days. And yes, just wash it and leave it with no protection. It will be fine for that short of a time. If you never got the rest of the truck protected, you can go ahead and do that though. Avoid any panels next to the ones that were painted though as they may have blended onto those as well, depending on the color.
  13. Quick Sealant has stained the towels I use it with before. But still never anything else in the next load.
  14. Someone has posted before about a more affordable option. I'm sure they'll chime in shortly or try to search for it. I know that Swisstrax is expensive and I'm sure Racedeck is similar.
  15. Doesn't really look like it though. And what would cause them to collect on the straw? I think this part of the straw was above what was left of the DWC. So I was just thinking maybe it's just dried product that was on the straw. But still weird for it to form into thin hairs like that.
  16. Thanks. He better be. I did the interior today. It was just dusty and nasty all over from sitting with the top down all the time. And it looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in months. I went over the whole car with LIC and LC. Looks almost like new now.
  17. Now I just have to make sure he stops using the California Duster that was in the backseat. I also just remembered that when I taking the after pictures, my 4 year old had to take some pictures with his camera too. He got a little frustrated because he said he was trying to take pictures of the car but all he could see was himself.
  18. I'm not worried about it enough to test it. Just thought it was interesting. I didn't really hold on to them, so I don't know if they were brittle or not. I just knocked a couple into the sink.
  19. I probably had tap water in there since I was just using it on wheels, even at 1:1.
  20. If they're gloss black, which it looks like they are, you can use anything you would on the car's paint. PS would be the most durable and best choice. Or you can use any kind of wax or HGG.
  21. I was topping off my bottle of Deep Wheel Cleaner 1:1 yesterday to do some paint decon and all over the straw were these little like crystallized looking hairs of the product. Anyone else ever see that? I'm curious how that happens.
  22. Thanks everyone. I only had 2 microfiber pads, so I did half the car with each. And I know that one of them is pretty much toast now. But that wasn't really the problem. I had issues from the very start. The polishes are great at correcting, but it seems like conditions have to be perfect and you have to work the polish for the exactly correct amount of time to not have some kind of issue with residue. I just expect it now. At least it's easy to slap on some BG and then it comes right off.
  23. Thanks. I had one at my old job but I recently got a new job. I might get a Mini there eventually though. I already got a Rupes 15 MkII for work.
  24. Thanks! Almost makes me want to own a black car. But then I would be doing this all the time and I'll pass on that. I sure wish I had a Rupes Mini for this car. There are so many curves and sharp edges. The foam pads weren't bad but, with the microfiber, it was tough to not hit the backing plate against the car when doing tight corners and edges.
