  1. Great pictures! I bet that car is a blast on the track.
  2. I only use the wheel cleaner every now and then and maintain with soap and water. So when I do use it, I am always cleaning the barrels too and I can easily go through more than half a bottle on one car.
  3. Yes, it's safe and suggested. It's always best to use the least aggressive method first. So if it's very light swirls, just go for the white pad and finishing polish and they should come right out. If you wash correctly, that might be all you'll ever have to do again.
  4. It will be fine if you just leave it be. They won't cause a bit of damage just sitting there. Wait until you can remove them properly.
  5. Wow! Nice work. That is definitely polished now. It looks like chrome.
  6. Use waterless wash or rinseless wash when doing your wipedowns. Detail spray you can use as often as you like, but the other 2 products are safer when it's dirty. HGG is only necessary to use every few weeks because it's actually a sealant and stays on the paint. Using it every few days is not necessary. If it were me, I would do rinseless wash for all of my in-between cleaning and you can finish up with detail spray if you like. And then on normal washes, use HGG every few weeks when you are drying and use detail spray as a drying aid every other time.
  7. For most correction power, I would narrow that list down to either the flex or the Rupes MarkII machines. Also think about what pad size you want to use. If you're going to only have 1 machine, the Rupes 15 is nice because it uses 6" pads so it's better to get into tighter areas than the 7" pads on the other 2 machines.
  8. Yes, you can do all of your correction with a DA. The flex 3401 is the only one that is forced rotation. It would be the machine that is closest to a rotary in terms of correction power. A rotary can cut much faster, but the DA gives you much better finish without the buffer trails. My personal choice would be the Rupes machines. They are very smooth and easy to operate but still work very well.
  9. I guess I haven't seen the DA you're talking about, but if it really is a DA then you can do the whole thing. It will just take a much longer time. If it's just a pad on a drill, then you'll get holograms all over since you won't be able to correct it evenly.
  10. I would do 2 coats of paint sealant and one coat of wax instead of vice versa. And use the paint sealant on the wheels as well. And if you're using small pads on a drill, I wouldn't try to polish the whole car like that. Wait until you have a polisher and can use larger pads.
  11. Wow, what a great deal you got. I love the feel and sound of the V-twin also. Both of mine were slightly used. I had a 2000 blue naked that I learned to ride on. And then a 2008 dark grey with full fairings that I added a ZX-10 rear shock with full adjustability and a carbon fiber slip on exhaust. I loved that bike. It's a shame I had to sell it but I figured the only time I would have to ride would be commuting to work and it's not the safest route. I sold it to a guy who stopped riding when his son was born and bought it now that his son had just turned 16. I'll probably get another one someday.
  12. Nice choice in bike. I had a couple SV650's and they were great bikes. Nothing now though. I sold the last one when my son was born. On that one, I painted the inside of the windscreen black since I never really tucked under it. It looked great from the outside then.
  13. Very nice results! I really need to get some metal polish someday. It's one of the few products I don't have because I don't have a ton of uses for it.
  14. You must not have cleaned the barrels. When I do that, I have a hard time doing 2 cars with the whole 16oz.
  15. I can't really see them in the picture but you might have some marring from the clay. Assuming you don't have a machine polisher, I would use revive, then do paint sealant, glaze and then buttery.
  16. I use the craftsman rubber hoses also and I think mine are around 11 years old and still no issues.
  17. Looks nice. My wife's CR-V is about the same color and very metallic so it always looks awesome out in the sun when it's clean. My GTI doesn't have nearly as much metallic, so it never looks as impressive.
  18. Washed my winter wheels that I took off this week. Planned to wash both cars today, but my wife's CR-V hadn't been cleaned since mid November so it ended up taking the whole afternoon. To be fair, we did move in late November so the house was the priority all winter. Surprisingly water still beaded pretty well when I started and the only thing it has had put on it is BW last June and a few applications of HGG through the summer and fall. So I washed, Deep Wheel Cleaner on wheels, applied HGG, VRT on trim, Tire Shine on tires, Quick Sealant on wheels, Invisible Undercarriage Spray on wheel wells, vacuumed, TID on whole interior and cleaned windows. Unfortunately, I left it outside while eating dinner and then it already had a light coating of pollen on it when I went back out.
  19. Welcome! Awesome R. I had a blue mk6 R and traded it for a mk7 GTI last year.
  20. I would agree that the mini has more vibration, but it's more like you are feeling the power of the thing since you are closer to the motor. The PC is just an annoying vibration feel.
  21. It is definitely good enough on a daily driver. There is no reason to use wax anymore except for ultimate shine. And you will still be impressed with the shine, especially from the HGG.
  22. Really? I rinse mine immediately after use and have never worried about cross contamination.
  23. Sounds like Audog will have to remove his chains. I'll leave mine on but just leave it switched on and use the wall switch. I might shorten them though and still leave something to where I can easily turn certain ones off or on. Thanks.
