  1. almost certain it is wax, i will try and soak it a bit longer before scrubbing and may try a different brush.
  2. Ya I was mainly curious to see what others were experiencing during the rinse and drying part of the detail. I was just expecting a different water reaction I guess.
  3. Detailing a VW Tiguan that has a good bit of wax/polish residue on the plastic trim. APC didn't work in the past, but I just received the new Tire and Rubber Cleaner and was hoping that would have helped but didn't really do much. Maybe I need to let it soak more and apply a few times? Any other ideas or thoughts on removing the wax from the trim? Thank you
  4. this is how the paint was reacting in comparison to the windows and trim.
  5. Very nice review. I actually had the chance to try the Wash and Wax this morning. The car I was washing was a VW Tiguan that had not been washed in a few months. The car previously had Glaze and LPS applied. The car was fairly dirty with a good amount of bugs on the front bumper. As far as cleaning the car it did a great job but I needed a pre-soak for the bugs. I did not use the foam cannon but maybe that would have helped... I was also thinking foaming the car with strip wash prior to a 2 bucket wash with the Wash and Wax could work well together, might help Wash and Wax to leave behind a better layer of protection??? What I also noticed was that the water did not want to sheet as well as the windows or plastic and would literally sit on the paint. Not sure if it due to my previous protection the car??? So I then decided to mist the car with detail spray to help with towel drying. The front hood got very streaky at first and the water did not want to soak up at first, after a few minutes it started to dry better. Maybe I did not rinse it with enough pressure, cause I made sure to rinse it well. I will definitely try it with a power washer next time and possibly doing a strip wash first to see how that works. Overall a great product, with a wonderful smell and plenty of gloss! some sunshine peaking through the trees bringing out the metallic
  6. I'll be trying the new Wash and Wax tomorrow morning. My fiance's VW Tiguan needs a wash bad. The last time I detailed it I applied Glaze and then Paint Sealant, which was a few months ago at least. I also have some buttery wax I haven't tried so I may top it with a layer of that or Americana that I just picked up as well???
  7. The odor is more than likely from the wheel cleaner. Most wheel cleaners that react with brake dust etc. tend to have this horrid smell. I actually still have some of the deep wheel cleaner, which has a nice smell to it imo.
  8. Nice score! I didn't get a frisbee either and i think I was most excited about that gift out of all the items in my order
  9. No, he was gone. He is racing MotoAmerica 600 Supersport this coming weekend at the same track. My lap times were very similar and in another race I was able to get behind before he got away. I wasn't able to pass but was with him for 5 plus laps and then we hit lapped traffic.
  10. I have a griots 6" da polisher, works great. Message me if interested.
  11. Brilliant Glaze can be applied before or after. It is really up the user and what they feel works best in their detailing regimen. Some will say apply the sealant first as it will bond better to the paint, others will say apply the glaze first and "lock it in" with a sealant. I have applied both before and after a sealant and got great results both ways. Unfortunately I don't think there is much scientific data that will say one method is better than the other. Personally, I would apply H20 GG first as it can be applied wet and it will save you a step in the detailing process. If I was using LPS I would apply glaze first. The last time I used the combo of Glaze then LPS the gloss was on another level!
  12. Ya, I love this combo too, especially the Glaze on metallic paints!
  13. Very cool, so the H20 was used as a cleaner by rubbing it in??
  14. GMC Sierra Denali - wheel cleaner on wheels - foam cannon (car shampoo + apc) - 2 bucket wash - rinse - H2O GG - VRT + VRT milk on the tires - Liquid Paint Sealant on the wheels - detail spray touch up
  15. from the pics I'm liking #3 or #4... post up some more pics!
  16. GT3 at a trackday a few weeks back.
  17. Great capture Bryce, nice little lens flare too!
  18. That shine is awesome! I have yet to use Brilliant Glaze on top of H2OGG, but I did apply it under LPS and they worked well together. I generally stick with detail spray after H2OGG as it adds shine and helps remove any water that dripped out of the jams etc. I think I need to try the Glaze with the Guard and Gloss.
  19. removing old wax and sealant as well as other contaminants is very important prior to polishing. Why clog the pads up with wax etc. when you can do it prior to polishing, which will probably give you better results. And according to your logic why even clay if polishing removes everything?
