Because I'm so skinny, I can hide behind the lift post and sneak up on it!

No , seriously, nuthin' fancy......just old school labor and patience.  Flex for the bulk of it and PC7424 with 4" pads for tight spots.  On the older 911 bodies, there are quite a few areas that need done by hand too.  I don't like to break out the Makita rotary on single stage paint......too easy to take paint off edges and contour lines!

The new PCP cuts much better than the old SHR.....not really the same product at all.  The only similarities are the color(s).  Plenty of threads discussing this but bottom line is it's a very nice polish.  I would say it falls into a "medium" category as far as the general industry is concerned, but with multiple passes,  very good results can be achieved.  When PCP was released, I did quite a few side by sides with other polishes to get a feel for the cutting power.

    BTW, Taurus looks good!

Oh yes, the metallic in that Tuxedo Black is really something.  All shined up and in the sun, you can see all sorts of colors in it.

Yes I traded Explorer in on Taurus. They paid it off, so I got out of the pricey payments I had on it and into something new. Explorer was only a "Loaded" (Sync and MFT) base model anyway. Was initially looking at a Titanium trim Fusion, but one sit and a quick spin in a Taurus and I was sold. Plus it's a limited with all the bells and whistles minus a sunroof.

The black I know could be a bit of a chore, but that green and blue flake in it.....YES.

Converted the column shifter in my truck to a floor shift this past weekend.  I used all GM parts and went for a factory look even though it's all custom.

The floor shift is from a Hummer H3 and I used a Cadillac Eldorado shift knob.  The column surrounds were replaced with pieces from the 5 speed Colorado.  The trim ring and boot are also from the 5 speed.

Now if I can only stop reaching for the column.

This is pretty standard fare for me......

It's done, but I haven't had it outside yet.  It's still buried in my work corner.  Here are a couple of quick shots from earlier this morning that I sent to the owner.

I had that issue as well. After the tire shine they used flung all over the side of my truck I stopped back up there and suggested they at least ask customers if they want it done. He replied with,"Well we would be more than happy to wash your truck for you." Which I appreciate the offer but there's no way they're washing my truck. They did great on the tire install and that's what they should stick too.

Sometime later this year.  The dealer (my dad and I work there) doesn't butcher the new cars, so it's pretty good for now.

This was the A6 when new and it was pretty close to perfect.

Yes sir. I'm right there with you. It irritated me for a day or two, however I removed myself from the forum and any associates I had with said group. When they said "I'm sorry but we're not going to be referring anyone to you", I said "That's fine, I'd rather not be referred to anyone that is like minded with yourselves."

I always like how my garage smells like a candy store after a detail, so I hang an air freshener in there to enjoy more of that great smell.

If you don't like things hanging from the mirror, put the air freshener in a take-out container and place it under the seat.

I currently do this with the towel that has been used with Leather Conditioner, so I can have more of that delicious aroma.

With the PC and MF pads, you can almost get to 'rotary level' correction without the worry of burning the paint.  Waayyy faster than foam pads for heavy corrections.

Nice looking truck. I had bought a used truck from the dealership and the water spots on the glass were terrible. I used a 4" white pad on a drill and it took them off. Then I sealed the glass with Adams Glass Sealant and now I don't have to worry about spots. Try it. You will be glad you did.

You have to be careful doing matte or black finishes on wheels. Do one wheel at a time to make sure the product doesn't sit too long. I would recommend 10-15 seconds at most then do the rest the good old fashion way with a little soap and water otherwise you'll end up with more problems then you want.
