  1. it works well and there's no chance of leaning on the paint!
  2. ^^same. I use APC when detailing and doing some cleaning where I won't be using a ton of product. When really soaking something, like the underside of my truck when doing an oil change that gets messy, I use simple green because I know it's environmentally friendly and I'm not wasting a ton of good product.
  3. I wash the back half of my cab by standing in the bed of my truck and wash each of the front quarter standing in their respective door jamb so I am close and don't have to worry about scratching the paint. I always save the interior portion of my regimine for last (often the next day) so I can clean where my dirty shoes were.
  4. My boss traded in his daily driver Range Rover on a new AMG Benz and has begun driving his mustang as a daily, even on grey, drizzly days like today. Only problem I see with that is... It's a 40th anniversary Shelby GT500 Super Snake...
  5. Just don't let the APC dry on the vinyl, or the paint for that matter. I recommend Mixing a couple ounces with your regular wash bucket and going that route.
  6. The level of aggressiveness is: Microfiber Pad>Orange Foam Pad>White Foam Pad Start with the white pad and Paint Finishing polish on a small test section. If after using that combo, you still have larger scratches and swirls that cannot be removed, step up to the orange pad and Paint correcting Polish on your test section. In most cases that will be enough correcting power but if it still is not, that's when you will want to use the microfiber cutting pad with Paint Correcting Polish. Keep in mind that as you begin using more aggressive means of correction, you will see less fine levels of finishing. This method of getting more aggressive should only be done on your test section and is used to determine what methods and products should be used on the rest of the vehicle. You will then want to begin in all other areas using the most aggressive means you determined was necessary to reach the desired result and work down to less aggressive means in order to obtain a nicer finish.
  7. Great job on the detail and on the photos! Beautiful country up there.
  8. If I had some American Forces that needed to be polished regularly, I would definitely look in to one of those!
  9. Will do, I will take some pictures while I do it and post my findings. The clearcoat does seem pretty soft.. I'll give that a shot. What should I use for the more broad areas that don't need to be polished nearly as much? Can a microfiber applicator be used? I know next to nothing about polishing metal...
  10. No one else's wheels have any intricate details that ever need polished? Also, after polishing the black painted portions, I will be applying Liquid Paint Sealant; is this safe to use over the exposed metal after polishing it?
  11. Car looks great! Like said above, use some Brilliant glaze once you park it at a show for some extra shine. Also, being that you show the car and is sound like you keep the car coated with Buttery Wax, you should look into getting a jar of Americana Paste Wax. If price is an issue, the new formulation comes in a slightly smaller container and at a better price point. Also, you can pick up a can of the original Americana on the Adam's Polishes Ebay store on clearance for $40 right now. the better paste wax should make a noticeable difference in the shine quality!
  12. Plus the added torque from a corded drill should make the correction a little easier.
  13. Your paint is in incredible condition for 14 years old!

With such a large community of people with great looking rides, I'm sure many people here have active Instagram accounts. I, for one, use Instagram almost entirely to check out nice cars and trucks nationwide. If any of you are active on Instagram and would like to post your username for others to follow the progress of your vehicles there as well, post it below! Mine is @james__hamilton (2 underscores) I know of a few others on here that I follow and get to see additional content that isn't always posted here!
  15. I think Dan's posts justify the OCD in all of us haha. His attention to detail is incredible!
  16. Great job on the paint correction and slick truck! What year is it?
  17. A lot of it will depend on the condition of the paint and how many passes with the product are required to reach the desired level of correction. Each pass on a 2'x2' section should take 3 bean sized drops or so. Check out the video I have linked below for some good tips!
  18. I bought the wheels that I currently have on my truck used for a great price on the premise that they were dirty but in close to new shape under the grime. There turned out to be a few pit marks on the wheels, the machined accents need some attention, and I will be using revive hand polish on the painted portions of the wheels (possibly correcting and finishing polish if necessary). I contacted the manufacturer and found out that the wheels are painted, cleared, then machined leaving the accents bare and exposed. Many of the areas have some intricate details (faux bolts, etc.) and I am wondering what everyone here uses to reach these areas as machine polishing them with anything larger than an electric toothbrush is out of the question? Also, after polishing the black painted portions, I will be applying Liquid Paint Sealant; is this safe to use over the exposed metal after polishing it? Thanks for any help ahead of time!
  19. Welcome! May not be a show truck, but I can tell you from experience that Adam's products can sure make it look like one! My truck gets heavily used, sees terrible weather and jobsite conditions, tows, and gets everything under the sun thrown in the bed and drug back out on a regular basis but stays looking shiny thanks to the great products I get from Adam's Polishes.
  20. Welcome to the forums! You should definitely post some pictures of that charger.
  21. Looks great! I'm in the middle of planning a vacation in Colorado for later this summer and will definitely plan on checking it out in person if I get a chance!
  22. Very nice setup. I like the easy dispense heads on the gallon jugs.
