  1. I recently just ponied up and bought a whole pile of pads at once so I have 3-4 per size and color. It's good to have spares to change out while polishing and also to have a spare in case one fails (I had a 4" orange pad crack in 2 places).
  2. No the friends and family option is not protected, only the goods and services option is. There's fees to use that option, but it's protected by Paypal. Most of the burden falls on the buyer and how much they trust the seller, and whether forking up an additional 3% or so is worth the peace of mind. For big ticket items... I would think it would be.
  3. But you can always contact Paypal within 180 days as long as it's a protected services transfer and get your money back if you never receive an item. I saw it happen all the time on a 4Runner forum with a guy that would sell custom roof racks for 1.5k then not ship. But I see what you mean. There absolutely has to be trust with an exchange of any kind. Luckily I like to think that most of us on here are honest folks. I know I've never had an issue during a trade or sale.
  4. But what's stopping the person from cashing the check then walking away without shipping the item? I've never used this method before as I've never had anything bad happen with paypal.
  5. Tires aren't such a big deal since there's really nothing for the VRT to run down. Lots of folks here love VRT on their tires. Personally I prefer the Tire Shine as it lasts longer and you can knock down the shine with a utility towel. Ultimately, the decision is up to you, my friend.
  6. It streaks especially bad on bed rails I found. Trim coating would be the best way to go IMO.
  7. That's the reason I don't use VRT anymore. It will run upon contact with water.
  8. Dan Wolf applied the trim coating to his Raptor fender liners and said it works great. As far as using g&g on the liners, that was me! It always works great as long as you have the patience to work under there.
  9. I've seen pulls in the middle before, but never on the edges like that
  10. I'm with Joe on this one. I've seen this stickiness before way back when I had my little Escort ZX2, and it didn't come off with anything I tried. Then again I didn't have Adams stuff then but still. Make sure to check back with results!
  11. Are you talking about applying Revive or Finishing Polish? Either way, you should be using a single pad for each product.
  12. You don't want to... I busted my you know what badddd by slipping on my garage floor. Did not feel good lol. Now I either spray it in the driveway and hose off the drops, or lay down cardboard,
  13. It's a great product and I highly recommend it. HOWEVER, be aware excess will drip off and has the potential to stain surfaces. Also, when on the ground, it's VERY slippery lol, ask me how I know.
  14. I either request Friends and Family payment through PayPal for no fees. If the buyer balks then I tell them to pay through goods and services, plus an additional 3% to cover the fees. There's calculators online you can use to find out exactly what they need to pay to put the amount of money in your pocket that you want. Having a good forum reputation as far as trades and sales are concerned helps you too.
  15. That's the project for later this week! But without boring everyone too much, here's a few pics from the fruits of todays labor. 20170813_181202 by Dustin Piskura, on Flickr 20170813_181322 by Dustin Piskura, on Flickr 20170813_181240 by Dustin Piskura, on Flickr 20170813_181053 by Dustin Piskura, on Flickr 20170813_181031 by Dustin Piskura, on Flickr
  16. Ohhh the feeling of new homeownership. Got up at 6am this morning to dig up and relocate 2 irrigation heads, as well as swap out a 3rd with a new head. Then I trimmed all the hedges, weeded between the landscaping, filled in an old Armadillo hole my wife was too scared to go near, and then laid down fresh mulch in the front of my house. After that I did a full detail on my 4Runner since it hasn't been done in over a month. Then after that I laid down some lawn topsoil and planted some Bermuda grass seed to replace where my dogs killed all the nice Saint Augustine grass with their constant playing, and then I had to stake off and fence in that area to keep the mutts out. Finally sat down on the couch and am hearing the first of a little thunder outside. Ahhh only missing the adult beverage now but I'm too whooped to drive to the store. This home ownership thing is rough.
  17. Diode Dynamics is the best. That's the first thing I always do with a new vehicle. Leds and tint.
  18. The only ones I'd recommend washing are the orange or gray towels. The orange ones especially severely lint, even after a couple washes
  19. Then just call in and get a fresh bottle.
  20. The way just do it is by applying thinly with a microfiber pad. Once I've done 2 panels, my wife starts wiping off the sealant with a triple soft, trying to stay about 2 panels or more behind me. I've never had a problem with Paint Sealant removal.
  21. I thought the newest version went on and off smoother than ever, and I applied in a garage on a relatively humid Florida day.
  22. I had a bit of a different experience, not to discourage you at all. I had issues applying the trim coating because my trim was porous enough to trap Coating Prep and not allow the ceramic coating on top to cure. In fact, 3 days later after ceramic application, I wiped off the Trim Coating with more Coating Prep like it wasn't even there. Once this happened, I didn't want to risk messing up the Paint Coating kit I had and sent it back.
  23. Could be the issue. I like to use coating prep when I do my post polishing wipe down before sealant.
  24. My wife washed and applied G&G to her Fiesta today. I'm so proud IMG_9169 by Dustin Piskura, on Flickr IMG_9171 by Dustin Piskura, on Flickr
  25. That's crazy. I'm sure you'll see great savings there but I always thought the best part about when I joined Adam's was piecing together my collection that tailored to my specific needs. This kinda takes the fun out of it.
