it is a difficult task taking pictures and working at the same time. I know it was taxing but wanted to show how well these products worked

tjk got a reaction from Bryce in New rubber and tire cleaner
what I did was lightly wet the tire, thoroughly spray with tire and rubber Cleaner and immediately used the blue tire brush to bring entire face of the tire to a foam ( that keeps it from just running off) then I work the tread at the side wall shoulder all the way around , then I scrub all the lettering on the side wall then the rest of the side wall then just a spritz of water on the tire and one final scrub of the entire sidewalk and shoulder and then a good rince. I have 4 jeeps each with 5 tires so that's a big part of my detailing it is some elbow grease but I never have to do a tire twice in a Detail with the method I use -

Do a search we just talked about it recently with our American Bulldogs. Mine is 80 lbs with short white hairs. That's a small dog! Haha
Get a Ridgid shop vac at Home Depot and vaccum often. Avoid black interiors. Get all weather mats so you can apc and rinse them. Use sidekick to blow off the interior.

You just tend to soap yourself up like you're in the shower. And give yourself a bath while washing your truck.

tjk got a reaction from CG3141 in Great white drying towel missing
I just got a couple great white drying towels in and they are missing the red fill with thw sparkle. I know it doesn't affect any real word things but mentally I miss the sparkle. Did anyone else receive the black only logo GWDTs? Is this a permanent change or do I have a rare collectors item on my hands

tjk reacted to TheWolf in REVIEW: New Strip Wash
I have not smelled the final version yet. The test sample I had did not include the final scent.
You bring up a good point!
While this product is called Strip Wash, it is not just for removing sealants and waxes. It is also for cleaning off all the crud that a normal, pH balanced shampoo will not. Bugs, road grime, diesel soot....all the stuff you want to get cleaned off, without a lot of scrubbing, before you do a detail and apply fresh layers of protection.
Agreed, that's why I clayed it after the strip wash, and compared the difference in the shape of the beads.
It might, if used straight out of the bottle. Would be worth a try to see how it works on the pads.

We should get a free shirt per every $1000 we spend on the site... And I'm due for my free shirt

tjk reacted to chops1sc in Wash pad care
I just wanted to share my wash pad care process. I've had this pad for over a year and I noticed it started looking rough. I always wash my pads with my regular laundry after each use and about every 2 months or so I brush them out with a dog hair brush. This particular pad hasn't been brushed out in about 6 months, lol!

tjk reacted to TheWolf in Newbie detailer item list help.
Welcome to the forum Tyler!
My advice is to go for the kits, as they provide the best value:
WINTER WASHING DETAIL KIT
INTERIOR 6 PACK
LIQUID PAINT SEALANT KIT
MICROFIBER BUNDLE
Add a second bucket:
DETAILING BUCKET
And some of the NEW TIRE & RUBBER CLEANER.
If you have a pressure washer, then the FOAM CANNON CAR WASH KIT is a must.
If no pressure washer, then go with the SUDS-FOR-DAYS FOAM GUN BUNDLE.

Good call Dan, definitely buy the kits if you're just starting out. That's how I did it too. Those and the mystery boxes

I put some 3/8" vinyl vacuum caps on the pump nozzles to keep things from drying out now that they will see a little less use this fall and winter. This summer, with weekly pump action, the only product that dried out enough to make a little booger was the LC, so I have been keeping a cap on it when not in use.
