Premium foam gun is your best bet, usesless saop than the standard version. I own one and use it when I do night washes but during the day I use a foam cannon which is 10 X better.

For the price of a 32 ounce bottle around $33 you can get a gallon of adams wheel cleaner for double and it does the same **** and don’t dilute. 

Wet car for me (Adams Wheel Cleaner), don't want that etching into the paint. Never tried the other stuff.

When we use wheel cleaner for fallout, it goes on a damp car that’s not in hot sun. For wheels, it’s always the first thing and always dry so we get the maximum strength out of it. 
 
Hot sunlight is the biggest threat with regard to damage.
