I'll also take the "under" on you lasting another week.

I think Matt, Rich and Jacob are on to something with her being the real scientist here. Have you checked to see if she's secretly cleaning it in the middle of the night?

    Happy Sunday evening Adams peeps,

Just wanted to share some pictures after using H2O G&G. Every time I use this product it amazes me 10 times over. Leaves the surface super slick and shiny and protected of course.

P.S. that cherry air freshener is amazing and I love how it looks hanging.

    Enjoy!

Always check your nozzle on your pressure washer lance before spraying it at the car.

I'm pretty new around here but I've had good success so far with the Waterless Wash.  I just turn the nozzle to stream, fire away, let it soak in a little before hitting it again & following up with a microfiber towel (which I also pre-wet a little with additional spray).  From what I've read on here, it seems like a lot of the forum members dilute their Rinseless Wash (16:1) and use that on bugs and bird bombs.  Once I use up my current supply of Waterless, I'm going to try that myself since diluted Rinseless is much more economical.

As Sherri mentioned waterless wash works very well, but it will be costly in the long run. I think you would be safe using detail spray, but again it would be a more costly alternative.  I would stay away from APC not because it is too harsh, as Adams APC is actually very user friendly and "forgiving", however it will end up removing the protection on your paint and you will be left with bare paint that will have more bugs encrusted on it. If you do decide to use APC make sure you DO NOT let it dry on the finish.
I have had great success with diluting Rinseless 16:1, I initially just spray the product on the affected area and let it soak. After that I set my sprayer to a stream pattern and hit the persistent bugs with the stream to fully remove them from the paint.

    Hopefully this helps!

jakerodz7 reacted to falcaineer in Which would be better?
PS about every 6 months, and HGG every 3-6 washes (Adam recommends 3). Any of the waxes will add extra gloss and depth, especially to a black vehicle, but won't provide the length of protection you need on a daily.

While you didn't ask, you might also consider W&W (it's not actually a wax), and/or just to show off, some BG. Amazing stuff, and both smell AWESOME!

Check out this article for more info on the differences between waxes, sealants, etc: http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/27631-faq-should-i-use-wax-or-sealant-on-my-car/

And of course, post some pics when done!

As others have suggested I would use the Liquid Paint Sealant as a base so it bonds better to the paint and because it will last longer than the H2O.  Then I would use H2O for maintenance every other wash or even once a month if you want to stretch it that far.  This will extend the life of your LPS and give you an amazing pop on black.  I use buttery once a month, but I have a lot of buttery and H2O so I like to alternate it in at least once a week.

So this wasn't a crazy job but I coated my mom's new Equinox over the 3 day weekend.  She's had the car for about 6 months and it has around 7k miles so its in great condition.  Started off with a good wash on Friday night with Adam's strip wash followed by clay.  The next morning, I did a quick debadge of the rear hatch and then hit the car with my Rupes 15 and Paint Finishing Polish.  The paint had some really light swirls but nothing major.

Prep and coating went well for my first time messing with a coating.  I thought it would be a little more finicky but it layed down very nice.  Hit it roughly 22 hours later with Ceramic Boost and boy was she shining.  It left the metallic blue paint looking deep and glossy and so slick!  I feel like I have about a half a bottle of coating left so now I'm planning on attacking a few things around the house.

I didn't get any great pictures as it rained almost all weekend but I took a few, enjoy!

Between my gallons, my 16/32 oz bottles, my towels, my wash media, buckets, 2 foam guns, foam cannon, swirl killer, DI water for premix I have occupied 2 of the Costco shelves that have 5 inserts which are all packed front to back.  You are not alone!

Don't underestimate the quality and performance of the MC1385.  Anyone who knows me knows I'm not one to skimp on my equipment (I went as far as putting a lift in the shop for detailing/maintenance purposes).  You'll find a fair number of us here on the board use that very steamer and have great results with it.  Give it a search on the forum here and you'll find lots of references to it.  I have zero concern about the reliability and longevity of that product.  It's a great bang for the buck product.

I'd actually recommend the same one that I use.  I have a McCollugh MC1385.  They're about $200 with a bunch of attachments and endless uses around the house and shop.  I'll be honest and say I don't use it on every detail, but I do use it enough to justify the expense.  It's a great investment.

And business has been okay.  Just trying to make smarter purchasing decisions and to not order as frequently so I don't give too much cost up to freight.  The added bonus of cheaper per gallon is the biggest benefit though.

Man you know business is going well if you have to step up from gallons to 5 gallons.  I myself was planning on ordering 5 gallons of car shampoo and APC but I have been using less and less CWS since I am moving more and more towards rinseless.

I have been looking at getting a steamer for myself, especially because my car has Alcantara seats that I unfortunately didn't take the best care of until recently.  Any you recommend for just weekend warrior use?

My collection is definitely more than enough for my weekend warrior needs.  I can't complain about it at all. Thank you!

Thank you.  It took a long time to build up the collection, and it still grows.  I just ordered some different tire products from another supplier to try out.  I used to order in gallon sizes and recently started ordering in 5 gallon sizes as volume has been picking up a little bit and it keeps my costs down while allowing me to use premium quality products.  I'm afraid to run the report on the bills the past few months.

The rest of the equipment is all tucked away...steamer, MBR, extractor, etc.

From what I read it doesn't sound as though you have a bad collection going on yourself!

No such thing as too many supplies. This is some of what we have on hand. It doesn't show the polishers, pads, towels, brushes and coatings drawers!

Love seeing full collections of people who care about their cars.
