  1. Car Shampoo has a lower price point also. I mainly use Car Shampoo and Detail Spray while drying and I get a nice slick finish with plenty of shine.
  2. I wanted to make a wheel shield to help keep the Tire Shine over-spray off my wheels seeing as I have low-profile tires. I got inspiration from Dan (TheWolf), but I wanted to make something hands-free so it would be easier to apply Tire Shine. I bought a thin sheet of rubber, measured and cut out the size of my wheel: I got a rubber seal strip with a lip so it could wedge between the wheel and the tire: I cut out some triangle pieces so the rubber would bend and adhere easier around the edge of the circle: I cut another piece of rubber to go under the tire and prevent any over-spray on the floor: I'm very happy with the result, but even happier that I don't have to clean up the mess on the wheels left by over-spray!
  3. After doing a full detail on my wife's Q5 I was left with some wax residue in the small cracks of the grille which I noticed the day after. I'll try and get some pictures, but the surface is a combination of smooth plastic (piano black) and plastic chrome trim. What do you guys recommend to remove this? I was thinking of possibly using some APC or Strip Wash with a lug nut brush? Thanks.
  4. "WOW!" That's exactly what I said when I saw the second picture. Well done!
  5. Great job on your cart, Daniel! I really like the way you arranged the bottles and nice idea to have a dedicated spot for your Sidekick. Well done.
  6. Not crazy at all, the Doubles are perfect IMO. Any thicker and I think you start to lose the feel around the car.
  7. Thanks for all the responses. I ended up doing a quick DS wipedown for piece of mind as there was visible dust on the car. I decided to do a second Strip Wash just to make sure that I removed all the previous protection on the paint. Probably overkill, but it was just a quick wash and didn't take much time. Good call on the isopropyl wipedown. I did it with a single soft towel and was amazed at how much RHP residue it pulled out. Thanks again guys.
  8. I'm getting ready to do a full detail on my wife's car and wanted to break up the detail process into two days due to time constraints. Day 1: Paint Decon, Strip Wash, Clay, Strip Wash Day 2: Revive Hand Polish, LPS and Americana Wax My question is... on the start of the second day, do I have to do some kind of wipe-down on the car (e.g. Detail Spray or Rinseless Wash) before applying RHP? The car will not be used and will not be leaving the garage after the first day's detail, but I'm guessing it will still collect some light dust. So just wondering if I need to do anything before applying RHP. Thanks.
  9. Both are great. Tire Shine is my favorite for a gloss/shiny look and VRT for a deep matte finish.
  10. Agree. Have never washed them first with no issues.
  11. Nice write-up, thanks! Looking forward to seeing how it holds up and how much easier it is to clean the wheels.
  12. Thank you guys! As for the move to Oz, I was on vacation visiting friends and ended up meeting some one... we're now married and have a couple of kids. It was quite an adjustment at first, but it's a really great place to live. Although one of the major downsides is not having better access to Adam's products! lol
  13. I have been part of this great forum for a few months now, and I don't know why, but I never really properly introduced myself on this section and it is now long overdue. My name is Ed, and as the title states, I am living in Australia but am originally from SoCal. Over the past few months I have been reading a lot of useful information on this forum, asking a lot of questions and sharpening my techniques. I thought this would be a good opportunity to not only properly introduce myself, but to also introduce my new car that will be well taken care of by Adam's products. Here is my Audi A5 Sportback: I have been accumulating a lot of products and will be doing a full detail on my car in the next few weeks. This is a great community and I'm glad to be a part of it. Ed.
  14. I had to pre-order it direct from Joseph due to the Australian 220 volt and plug conversion. The Sidekick on the .com.au website is shown with the standard Metro Air Force Blaster Sidekick logo. Surprisingly my Sidekick came blank with no logo whatsoever, so I just added the Adam's Black Friday sticker (which I really like also). Would love to get a MB, but I highly recommend the Sidekick if you're not looking to spend that much.
  15. Just wanted to say how impressed I am with the Sidekick. I just received mine and wow, so much power from such a small package. I will never dry without it. A thank you to Joseph at Adam's .com.au for getting this out to me. It took a while to get here but was definitely worth the wait!
  16. Thanks for sharing, definitely need to see pics! Was this your first time using a polisher?
  17. Thanks for sharing. I'll be doing a Rinseless Wash for the first time also, so it's good to see reviews like these. I don't have that many double soft towels either, so I'll be doing the same as you and re-using the same towels on the entire car. I personally don't see an issue with this even though I have never done a Rinseless Wash. My thinking is that it's the same process as a two-bucket wash and re-using the same two wash pads, and I've never had an issue with this method. Maybe I'm missing something. I also like the idea of doing a diluted Rinseless Wash pre-soak and using Detail Spray in the drying process.
  18. Definitely no need to be harsh, you've done a great job on the interior! I think we all appreciate the work it takes on jobs like these, and it's even more impressive that you're helping out a neighbor. Well done.
