  1. While this topic morphed a little, I'm starting to think I may be in the minority for this sort of product. There are definitely plenty of alternatives already out there, and mobile ones, at that.

Nevertheless, thanks to all for the input/suggestions. You are awesome!

P.S. If an Adam's development team member sees this, though, know you'll be able to sell at least one... :)

  2. haha I know right thats how awesome adams products are! You guys should give it a try :D

No, thanks. I don't want to accidentally turn mine into a Smart car (no offense to owners out there!).

  3. Did some searching and found a handful of requests for the same thing a couple+ years ago, so I'll bring it back to life...

Since gaining weight in certain...areas...is probably not the best option for most of us - how about offering a padded Gamma Seal lid for the wash buckets, at least as an add-on option?

I realize they're already made to sit on, and I thought it may become a reality, but to make my tookus/our tookusi (sp?!) a little happier during extended detail sessions, or to simply have a comfier "Adam's-approved" place to sit and take a break ( +  :lurk: = :D), is this possible?

    I'll even offer a few options/suggestions:

     - Color it Adam's red, and/or

     - Add the Adam's logo (hat tip to Ricky Bobby) or at least the "A"

     - Cut-out a couple crescent shapes for (no...not that  ;)) handles around the edges to still be able to turn the lid easily

Thanks for the consideration!  :xfingers:

  4. +1 for clay. Use the baggie test if you're reluctant or questioning the necessity.

I think you have the 1st and 2nd washes backwards - the SW is needed to remove any leftover products, giving you a naked surface to work with. Therefore, it should be during the "first wash"...and before any future wash where you want to do any new PS or correction work.

Also, in your limited time, agreed with Mitch, you can stop with the PS for your "first wash." Then, maintain with HGG every few washes thereafter. Many apply PS just twice a year, if that gives you an idea of timeliness.

Use of the BW is up to you. It will give a nice shine, but it likely won't last as long as the PS and HGG; waxes simply don't last like sealants. It is easy to apply, though, so if you want to use it, go for it!

  5. What types of products are they soiled with?

Not knowing the state of your washer, you can't go wrong with running an empty load with the liquid dye/perfume free detergent first to get any potential residue out. You could pretreat with the free detergent, and aggitate it by hand before the wash. Then wash the towels on hot wash, cold rinse, plus additional rinse if available, with that detergent. Air dry is my preference.

  6. I ended up going with the winter washing kit, got the clay, and interior spray as well. Did I miss anything?

I watched the daily driver video and planned to follow those steps.

The daily driver video is great (I follow a similar process), but honestly, I don't think it's meant to imply, nor would many people would say claying and HGG are really necessary every wash. Therefore, I'd recommend you pick up a few more things:

    - GWT. Combine it with sheet rinsing after the non-clay/HGG washes, and you'll be glad to have it in your arsenal

    - VRT. It's awesome.

    - A few more MF towels, such as SST/DSTs

    - The other kits you mentioned would also be good

I would also caution you...this is ONLY the beginning! You'll likely find yourself needing/wanting more as time goes by. On that note, the Mystery Boxes are a great way to build up your initial collection, so keep an eye out for them.

  7. Welcome back, Bryan!

*deleted my "think of it this way" note...may have sounded like a swipe when it was not meant that way at all, rather (a poor attempt at) a bright side viewpoint. Like Rich and OC said below, it's a great car, and one that with Adam's, you can and should take pride in maintaining.
