  1. I called Adams during the middle of all of this. I wouldn't have been able to receive a replacement one in time to finish the customer's vehicle. I told Dan that I would try to fix it before exchanging it, which he completely understood. Luckily I was able to get it going again. May need to buy a 2nd as a back up, or teach the wife how to correct to cut down on times lol.

  2. You can use all Adam’s compounds and polishes on gel coat. Gel coat is hard to work with because it is very thick and tough, that being said, it is hard to burn through as well. You will want the correcting compound. Good luck!

Here is a link for a thread that might be helpful:

Great results man! I will have to test this out this winter. I will be sure to do a write up/review.

  3. Hey guys need some input...

Just bought my very first boat, 2000 Bayliner Capri 1950. Its all white, and the paint is slightly faded with minor scratches and swirls in the gel coat. I am wondering if I can take my SK to the gel coat to polish up paint. What products can I use, what products do I need to stay away from, and any special methods? Thanks in advance.

  4. I put 4oz of shampoo in mine and have the dial turned all the way to negative. And I can barely get a full car covered before it's empty. I also see these videos online where the whole car is covered and maybe only a 1/3 of their canister is emptied. If I turn mine positive at all is gets super watery. These guys are getting nice thick foam and have enough for multiple cars. Am I missing out on something here?

  5. The cherry has a very strong scent to it. Smells like cherry cough syrup almost. I was very concerned when I first opened it up. So I only cracked open the clear packaging and placed it under my seat for fear of the smell being too strong if I left it hanging up out in the open.

I got in my car and to my surprise it wasn't a very strong scent at all. I could almost not smell it, so this morning I took it out of the packaging and moved it to the center counsel cubby that is on the floor and open to the cabin. The car has been sitting closed up and 80*+ so we will see how it smells after work.

  6. Yesterday Adams released a new video almost 20 minutes on wheel detailing. It was specific and showed how to properly clean and treat the wheels. Many of Adams "How To" videos are outdated.

As someone who has only been a customer in the last year or so, I was glad to finally see a refreshed "How To with some newer products. I wouldn't mind seeing Adams come out with newer updated videos like this. I understand these videos take a lot of time to produce but I feel it would be a great learning tool for some of the new people.

I made a list of some more videos I wouldn't seeing updated or created. Let me know your thoughts or what you would like to see.

    - In-depth on paint correction

    - Engine bay detailing

    - Ceramic Coating

    - Basic 2 bucket wash

    - Pad care

    - Mixing Ratios

    - Drying techniques

Again some of these exist and some are simple but would be good for newbies.

  7. I was going to town with the visco clay bar and then realized, umm....

There is a plastic protector on both sides of the clay bar (just removed it on one side). When I was done I had some beautiful swirl marks to show for it :(

The good news is that the Adams Correcting Polish works as advertised and I was able to remove the damage quite easily.

I made the same mistake first time ever using it. 3 seconds after starting I realized something just didnt feel right...

  8. Phil,

You shouldn't need to clay your paint with a coating on it. Honestly, a little waterless wash should remove them. If they are still stuck on, simply spray some WW and allow it to soften the bugs. I have found the above method to be successful.

I see you're from Midwest Ohio. I'm from Urbana/Springfield area myself. I work in Dublin.

I live north of Dayton about an hour!

I agree you shouldn't need to clay the bugs, the coating makes your paint so slick WW should remove them.

I hadn't tried to remove them yet. In the past, claying worked the best, so I wanted to confirm before I tried.

I ended up using the method you guys suggested and it worked like a charm. Love this coating stuff!
