TJM got a reaction from falcaineer in Ordered racedeck flooring!
I just installed Racedeck XL Freeflow in one bay of my garage. 2 bits of advice:

    1.  Check your order for accuracy when it arrives. It took me several days after my order arrived to install it and when I got to the last box I found that it was all diamond plate tiles instead of freeflow. Of course it was Friday afternoon before New Years weekend and the office closed 1/2 hour before I called. They did respond promptly the next business day and set up the return pick up. It was only a week delay to finish the install.

    2.  If you are in a cold climate and your garage is not heated, wait for warmer weather. It was in the upper 30’s when I did my install and although my garage is attached it is not heated, just residual from the house. I had a few tiles that didn’t want to snap together & me trying to stomp them together broke a few of connectors. You can see in the bottom pic a blue tile that didn’t totally snap together. The next “warmer” day I was able to use a screwdriver and get things to line up.

Did the Vette today to get ready for a show on Sunday.  Comment from my mrs ,  " I never thought white could shine like this".
That's good enough for me.  There's one guy who beats me every year at this show (he's the one with all the chrome and extras).  Maybe my little white simple Vette will dazzle them with her sparkle this year. It's the only "show" I do.  Won second two years ago. Didn't win anything last year.  Wish me luck.

First water, then soap. Then shake the bottle some. If you do it in the other order, you'll end up with waaaaayyyyyyy too many suds.

I'm in the process of trying an experiment.  My wife always complains that every Saturday I spend a few hours "playing" with her car.  Her car is always...ALWAYS clean, I do a wash each Saturday and usually a Waterless wipe or two during the week.  Its our family DD so it gets dirty fast, but its silver so not to noticeable to the untrained eye or my wife.  I began the experiment May 27th.  So I am going into my second weekend and I haven't touched it at all! She still hasn't made a peep and I'm beginning to crack  .  Ill add before and after pics later today...

Admit it. Despite how easy Adam's makes it, whether you've been detailing for days or years, we've all made a mistake or two along the way. It comes with the territory. So I figured, while many threads on here contain solid advice of "How To's" and "To Do's," I thought it'd be fun to have a thread dedicated to our "Don't Do's." A catalog of lessons learned, if you will. Those things we did that we still scratch our heads over. Those little golden nuggets you want to share a laugh with over a "virtual" beverage of choice with fellow detailers.

Now, this sort of thread is liable to stall after my post, or go on for a while, so I'll start and we'll see what happens.......

I love my Sidekick, as I proclaimed here and other threads across the forum. Awesome tool, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone. When I first got it, though, I was a little apprehensive about its performance. Sure, the air was blowing like crazy, as advertised, but I had to get pretty close to the car for it to be effective. I was also very deliberate, even careful, while doing so. Still, I wasn't getting good results, and I even nicked one of my rims. That is, until I came across and actually "studied" the picture of it on the Adam's site...

Pretty straightforward tool, right? The Sidekick itself, all 1.3hp of warm, filtered air. The long 12' extension cord. The comfort grip handle. The Adam's logo. The 2 nozzles...wait, what? See those black things? The rubberized cone and fan shaped nozzles, meant to focus the air stream and protect your car? Yeah, I forgot to install them. For...let's just say, a while...I was using the Sidekick with a small, sharp metal nub as my blower. There's a reason they're in the box.

    Don't forget the nozzle!

Geebee's body shop is now in business! LOL my wifes car had some pretty bad scratches that we didn't notice when we got the car. To satisfy my Auto Detailing case of OCD, I wen to work. OK, so a small pat on the back from me to me....LOL All the scratches came out thank goodness.

Hi everyone, long time no here.
    Im back...
After a fun weekend in Carlisle, and being in the ADAMS tent 3 times and $$$$ later,...
I have to say my new favorite "toy" is ceramic boost. Holy smokes.

The paint on my 17 SS is pretty good, and I've kept it that way since I got it in October...

Using this as just a sealant after a careful maintenance wash... was incredible. Noticeable depth, amazing shine, and rain (the next day) FLEW off as I drove to work down 95.

I am due for my MINOR correction / polishing any week now, and I think I am going to commit to full ceramic coating treatment. So far, I'm blown away.

So my mom bought a 2012 Grand Cherokee. It's super nice but hasn't been taken care of properly. I have to clean the whole interior thoroughly when I get time I have already done the exterior, except these nasty terrible tips. I cleaned as much as I could but made no difference. Then tried the metal polish. It was working but really slow. I'm working by hand and not with a machine. So I used 2000 then 3000 grit sand paper to remove what looks like 5 years of build up. After I followed with Adam's metal polish in their intended order. They really brightened up the tips after the wet sanding, even polishing by hand. If I had one of those buffer ball extension for a drill they'd look even better. But, still it's a nice turn around I think. Here is a before and after.

Not normal. I'll take it off your hands.

Seriously, though, you can also use BG to get rid of that incessant haze on your interior windshield. One of, if not "the," best Adam's hacks out there. And it's an instant air freshener. See here for more: http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/31733-remove-haze-from-the-inside-of-the-windows

As Nathan said, I pull the car into the garage and use the blower on the entire car. Then I will wipe up any leftover runs from a mirror or badge.
