Agree also with Rich, I would let your insurance look at it also as is and then tell them you are going to wash it and look for more damage and let them know what you see afterwards. I had a little girl (about 4yrs old) throwing rocks and broke my windshield and had it fixed thru insurance and they used Safelite and they did a fantastic job. If you want they will even do it at your house or wherever you want. Luckily it did not hit anything else.

Also I had a small root/stump fall off of a landscapers truck doing 70mph and it hit right in front of my windshield wipers and left a rub mark on my hood but Adam's Paint Finishing Polish and a white 4" pad on my cordless drill worked wonders.

I have a crew cab long bed 4x4 Ram 2500 Cummins. Doesn't get much bigger!
I have a leveling kit and 35" tires for it, just waiting to put them on. Maybe a 4.5" long arm lift and 37s in the future.

Westin does make good products.   I would also look at the quality of the stainless steel.  T304 and T409 are the grades and you will pay more for the better grade too.  I would go with T304 since it is the better grade.  Also remember this a magnet will not stick to better stainless that lower quality (lower has more ferrous metal in it than the higher grade).

I do agree it would be nice for long handle fender brushes or wheel woolies that are difficult to fit down into the grit guard at the bottom of the bucket, but other than that I would be just fine with the regular Grit Guard.

I did share this thread with Adam and the team to get their thoughts as well. I'll keep everyone posted.

Dan you beat me to it.  I use a  Dymo brand label maker.  That is the best thing ever.  I have done several projects with this machine.  I did some wiring and used it to label the wires.

Nick not sure if you use ebay but you might find a good price on a Brand New one.  The one that I purchased came thru ebay.

To me at least there is more info needed to get a good recommendation, specifically WHY are you wanting one,

    Is it looks?
    Is it function?
    Is it for mounting lights?
is it for mounting other accessories?

Could be a combination of some or all of the above. Then id say you can really decide where you want to go with it and which one will work better

Regardless of why you want it, I'd go with a Westin Brand. Just a much better company in general, especially when it comes to support and warranties.

Correct, the S Class was a great ride. I just needed something that didn't try to put me to sleep while i was trying to drive lol. I actually like the 2013 S better than the new style S. The older model just feels more over the top luxurious, the newer feels a little sportier to me. You wait till they are 2 years old coming off lease and you can get them with low miles for about half of what the initial sticker price was.

Bummer man, newer cars have so much plastic and thinner metals to save on weight that they just crunch up in an impact. Glad everyone is safe though.

DieselDude reacted to stripesace in Review: Red Wash Wedge
A few weeks ago, black friday maybe? I picked up a Red Wash Wedge/Shampoo/GWDT Combo. Weather and life's schedule (new baby...) has been counter intuitive to trying it out until tonight. Right at sunset (4:50) it was a nice and balmy 79* and my wife's highlander is the official vehicle of holiday transportation so I decided that we (and by we, I mean I...) COULD NOT show up to family's house in a vehicle that looked like it had gone 2 weeks without a wash and detail.

And there it was teasing me from my wash pad tote on the top shelf... the Red Wash Wedge... I had half the mind to use just the red wash wedge but I decided I couldn't risk the rocker panels with it, so threw a wash pad in the soap bucket.

I loaded the channels up with some soap and and dropped it in the bucket and created a bucket o suds. Foamed the highlander down with my Adam's foam gun, and while standing on my new work platforms started at the roof.

    Initial thoughts:
"Don't press down on this... you're not trying to scrub!"
"my oh my this feels much easier than the wash pads."
"Oh look, squeeze and you get more suds...."
    "wow this thing is light."
    "I love this grip"

Over all I felt like the wash wedge provided me an 'easier' and more pleasurable wash experience. When I switched over to the wash pad for the lower portions of the panels, and the front of the vehicle, the wash pad picked up little shards of foam from my rinse bucket. I didn't see any missing pieces on the wedge so it's probably just some left overs from the cutting process.

Overall I have to recommend the Red Wash Wedge as a great alternative to the synthetic wash pads. If for some reason you're adverse to the wash pads, or just looking for something different, you can't go wrong with it.

You all know what my Highlander looks like after a fresh wash (http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/29341-first-engine-detail/)
so you'll have to trust it came out looking just as well.

I lost the race to sunset so I had to pull'er into the garage for the drying, trim, and tires. I'll have a write up about the tires tomorrow maybe since I used a new to me product, that I can't wait to see how they look in daylight.

my 2.5 year old got his truck wet the other day because he parked it too close to the sink where I somehow make a mess cleaning bottles for our new born. It had water all over it. He went to pantry where I store the household microfibers, got one out, laid it on the ground, and folded it into 4ths, and proceeded to wipe down his truck..............

So last night my 3 year old daughter is playing with her Barbie's, Legos, etc.. Basically making a mess right before bed time right. I hear her rummaging through my Tote with all my Adams products. Brought the tote in a couple of weeks ago to reorganize everything. I walk over to her and she has a Single Soft Microfiber cloth(still in the packaging thankfully). I ask her "what are you doing with that sweetie"?

Her response, "My Barbie is cold"

I couldn't help but to break out in laughter and tell her that isn't what its meant for. She hands it over and says "here daddy, I sorry".

Just thought I'd share this with y'all. Made me laugh, hopefully it makes some of you laugh as well...

Ordered an inexpensive meter from Amazon.

Calibrated it to a 7.0 standard solution.  Temp was a little low, but I couldn't find my Bunsen burner.

Got a reading of 12.2 on the LIC.

Ok, I will 3 point cal this thing tomorrow and run it thru a certified NIST traceable meter and answer this once and for all. I will post calibration results with test results along with temps associated. (Nice to have a certified lab on site lol)

Same with us for sorting centers. If I get a shipment from north of us (Chicago or WI, MN, MI areas). It actually goes though our town all the way to central Illinois and then comes back to our town, on the same highway. Never understood why they didn't just put a sorting center in Northern Illinois. There is only 1 sorting center for the entire state.
