  1. After over 5 years my tonneau cover got a hole in it and need to be replaced. The new cover arrived and was put on today and received a Graphene Coating. For the smaller boxes, I do the coatings in 4 sections and the first picture shows the first section once it was done. The different the coating makes it pretty substantial. The second picture is once the entire cover is complete. Of note, with the Graphene Coating, I cannot see it flash so I have to go by feel or 3 minutes, whichever is shorter.

    Food Thread

Rich, I can assure you that you'll be fed well if you show up at my house in South Carolina. With Chris agreeing to send Mary on a trip, we can have a good party at my place, since the Chef is always willing to cook for people who enjoy eating.

    Food Thread

Hard to believe that we have not posted anything in here since May 2021. I know that the last year+ has been a bit of a blur, but it is summer and time to get back to having some good food on the grill. Last night was little Surf & Turf with Filet Mignon and Salmon cooked on the grill.

    Paint flaking!

Hi Chris, Ouch is the most diplomatic word that I can give. If you feel around the areas where it is flaking, you may be able to find some other places that basically feel like there is a bubble under it and these are spots where it is going to flake. This happens for a few reasons that I know of and I'm pretty confident there are more reasons. Moisture when the vehicle was painted Surface had a contaminate on it prior to painting Damage that caused a crack in the paint to allow air or water to get under it. Those spots are pretty big so it is going to take more than a chip repair kit to fix them. I'd recommend looking for any additional spots that are going to flake or just don't look or feel right. If it is all over the roof or hood, then you are probably better off with a paint shop to strip, prime and repaint the entire panel. If it is isolated, then you can still go the paint shop route by having them take your vehicle and paint code and putting you on a call list when they are painting the same color. You may not get much notice to drop the vehicle off, but it can save you considerable money by not having to purchase a pint of paint when you only need a thimble full. I don't do any painting myself anymore, but I know a few people that do in the Columbia, Lexington area, unfortunately I don't know anyone in the Sumter area.

  7. Welcome to the Forum. While I have a bunch of coworkers in Mississauga, none of them are into detailing. @falcaineerThe store locator only shows the US locations, any assistance you can provide for the Canadian's?
  8. Before, After or Both. Brilliant Glaze also has the ability or hide minor imperfections, which may be of benefit before you put the wax on on. When you want that extra pop for a weekend, you can you go over the vehicle with Brilliant Glaze. Keep in mind that when you put it over the wax the extra pop will only last a couple of days, especially if in the sun.
  9. Hopefully all went well with your fungus removal. Keep us posted on the outcome.
  10. Hi Robert, I have had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with Artillery Fungus twice and in both cases White Vinegar is what I used and a sponge to get the remaining spores off the vehicle. It takes time and effort to get all the spores removed that don't come off with the pressure washer, but they come off.

  12. I keep mine kits in a climate controlled area and have used them up to a year after purchase without any issues. If they haven't been climate controlled, froze or in a hot environment, I'd be hesitant to go that long. Also, the smaller the kit the higher the chance of problems since there is not much paint in there, so it dries out quickly. When you open the kit, if the paint of gummy, then you can pretty much count on it being bad.
  13. Hi Al, I have partially clayed a coated vehicle a couple of times. In both cases it was for doing an area, not the whole vehicle, and I used the Fine Grade Clay. For the lube, I used CS3 and it seemed to work without any problems at all. Once was on a vehicle with some tree sap and other had some black specs on the hood and fender that came right off with clay, but didn't come off during a regular wash. Other than those two times, I have not found a reason to use clay on a coated vehicle - at least not yet.
  14. Welcome to the Forum. I've used several different chip repair kits over the last year based on what I could get. The good news is that they all worked equally well as long as I followed directions to the letter. You should expect to spend between $20 and $40 USD according to the color, vehicle and how many chips you need to fix. There are a few that are more expensive than $40, but I did not use any of them in the last year. A google search for Top Car Chip Repair Kits will get you a few articles with comprehensive writeups on effort and outcome along with prices, then you can look for availability of the product(s) you like.
  15. Welcome to the Forum. I recently sold my bike, but I can say without a doubt that the Adam's products make it look fantastic. You can find the thread by searching for: Ceramic Spray on the Bike. There are two products missing from your list, Metal Polish 1 and Metal Polish 2, they are fantastic for all the chrome. Don't forget to post a picture of the bike.
