  1. Hi Troy, I've had plenty of vehicles brought to me that were cloudy of just not shining to find out the owner used dish soap, most often dawn. While it is great dish soap, it doesn't help the paint surface on a vehicle. As for the Surface Prep, make sure you shake the bottle before using it and do small sections at a time. I generally use mid-GSM microfiber towel, in the 440 range, the Adam's Borderless Gray work very well. Working outside always has its risks with pollen, dust, bugs, etc., so once I wash and iron remove a vehicle it goes inside and does not come out again until the coating is complete and cured.

  3. Hi Charles, I have not done a UTV windshield, so I am not sure how it compares to golf cart windshields and I have done plenty of them. If the windshield is defect free, then I used Adam's Glass Cleaner, followed by Brilliant Glaze. If the windshield is marred, then I start with Adam's Hand Polish to get as many marks off it that are possible. Hopefully, you have access to a golf cart or know the difference between the windshields and this information will help.
  4. I had a 2022 Kia EV6 dropped off Friday afternoon that was purchased a week before. The vehicle has just about 400 miles on it and the request was to do a Graphene coating. While the new garage isn't complete, decided it was close enough that I'd work from their instead of the wife's garage. It was sure nice having plenty of room and helped me figure out where I need to place the rest of the lights once I put the ceiling in. It started with a full strip wash and iron remover before going in the garage. Once inside, I started with the clay, then compound since it had dealer installed swirls, then polish. The paint is rather soft on the Kia, which did make for easy work on getting everything ready for the prep wipe down and coating. The biggest time consumer was all the different angles and curves in the panels. I even charged for it for the owner since I had it for the weekend. The next two pictures are after it coated, one inside and one outside. The owner picked it up just after 6:00 PM on Sunday and was rather pleased with the outcome.
  5. It has been a while since I updated this thread. Given that it has been over 3 years since we rebuilt the engine and repainted it, none of us can complain about how it looks now. We've had a couple of minor items, a bad oil pump, fortunately it is an external and was easily replaced. A short that was causing the battery to drain, what a pain finding that pinched wire. There is a drip coming from the rear main seal, we have that on the list for some day in the future. While the mechanical and exterior has been holding up rather well, the interior has finally gotten to the point that it needs to have major work done to it, so it going to go into the daughters garage and get pulled apart. We're expecting it to be parked for around 6 months, so I reconditioned and recoated the top with Ceramic Spray Coating and gave the body a good cleaning. The tires are being replaced before it goes back on the road, so I'll redo the wheels once the new tires are put on. We may consider a change in the head lights since the rubber seals around them will not stay in place and while they fit good, they are not perfect.

  7. Hi Dan, I have yet to find anything that will prevent the uric acid in bird droppings from etching and it's not just vehicle paint that is affected. I have found that the ceramic coatings provide a longer period to get the droppings washed off before it causes the etching. I'll also note the original Adam's ceramic paste wax also provided a longer period before etching would occur. I try to never let the bird droppings stay on the vehicle for more than a day and that it what I believe its the best way to prevent the etching.
  8. It's nice to see another Red Truck on the forum. The truck shows a massive improvement from where it started.
  9. Welcome to the Forum Robert.
  10. Hi Troy, Sorry to hear about the body's shops error in judgement. I had one of my ceramic coated vehicles that ended with a small area of light scratches and I was able to correct them with hand polish, followed by Ceramic Boost. Once bother were completed, I couldn't tell where the scratches had been and the water beaded the same as before. I had another vehicle that had more that light scratches and since I couldn't get the scratches to go away with Hand Polish, I just stripped the entire vehicle and started over. The only way to know if the Hand Polish and Ceramic Boost will be enough is to pick a test spot and try it.
