butchman got a reaction from Team Adam's in Showdown: Hammered Mercedes SLK vs. Cyclo and Adams Paint Correcting Polish
Awesome job. Wow that was bad to start with. Looks like they took towels and dipped them in sand and then washed the car with them.

I use the 3M automotive performance tape. Its green in color They sell it at the auto parts stores. I believe its alot like the 3M blue tape you use on the walls and trim in the house but made for automotive/metal surfaces. http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/Adhesives/Tapes/Products/~/3M-High-Performance-Green-Masking-Tape-401-?N=5471778+3294262915&rt=rud

butchman got a reaction from Periodic in Dirty cheap towels
Agreed. It sure would be nice to find a creative way to help them out. Its one thing to use a cheapo towel its another to drag it on the ground while wiping. I guess I need to keep the blinders on sometimes. Maybe I'll keep a couple extra Adams dvd's and stickers in my car. When they walk away I can slip them in their car. Pretty funny but not a bad idea.

butchman reacted to crowvet in Dirty cheap towels
At a car show this weekend, guy next to me pulls out paper towel and sprays it. Proceeds to scrub the crap out of his paint. He did this all day. By the end of the day he had a zip lock full of paper towels... Amazingly his paint looked pretty good. How? I have no idea.

My question is how do you advise someone exactly in that situation without seeming offensive? I would have a hard time taking advice from someone on the street on how to detail my single most prized possesion you know?
I dont want it to be that situation like 'dont tell me how to raise my kids' ya know? i would take it that personally..

Yep. My co-worker is a newbie to Adams and recently placed her first order. She ordered a kit and the sprayer for her detail spray was broken. I told her I have plenty extras and would bring her one in a pinch. However I suggested she call and I said with confidence they will send you a new sprayer without a hassle. Sure enough she called and couple days later she had her sprayer. Not many companies you can boast about like that.
