  1. Also works pretty well on oil spots on an unsealed garage floor... Strong stuff!
  2. A nice group of people, even that Adam guy... ;-) I am sure your few clients (Like a certain black hot rod with silver pinstripes) might differ! What you can do with black paint is stunning...
  3. You can also strip the old wax with Isopropyl Alcohol (90%) mixed 50/50 with distilled water. Wipe or mist the surface with this solution, and wipe it around like you are cleaning a window, and that will strip off the wax. You can do it panel by panel, as needed. Washing with APC or Simple Green or Dawn will strip everything including the rubber gasketing and plastics on which you have SVRT.
  4. Gee, I get busy with life/work and I miss out on the fun. From what I hear of the issue, this is the kind of junk I have read on other forums, self appointed authories, which is why I don't visit those other forums anymore. Glad it's cleaned up, now on to real detailing topics!

    New 2014 Chevy SS

Seems like much ado about nothing. No great styling, and a high price tag. They should call it a malibu. I give it 2 years and then gone.
  6. Hey Mook - did you ever try that 3M adhesive remover? That stuff really takes off aggressive adhesive, and still leaves the paint in good shape. I've had some good luck with that. Maybe for next time... By the way, the final shots were fantastic -that things looks so wet, it shows off every line and curve on that car, and the paint has great depth and clarity. The owner must have thought he had a new car. I am sure he will be back.
  7. CTSV wagon and THEN a porsche, both Red? Yes! Good thing you have the new polishes and MF pads - I hear that both of those have very hard clear coats on them.
  8. Really enjoy mine. Seems like Chevrolet made HHRs with many places to hold water and drip (like the mirrors). The sidekick has eliminated that pretty much 100% for me ( I swear it waits until I leave to drip, just to mess with me). You know how the drip lines show on solid black paint...
  9. Yeah, you're hooked now. And no more automatic car washes for the wife's car! I hope she thought she was driving in style afterwards... Black paint with swirls are what drove me to Adam's....and I've been here ever since
  10. Dang, Chase, looking good! Bet the owner was very happy!
  11. Absolutely true. Even when my black paint is dirty, you can still see those hard edged white sparkle sun reflections on the paint. When the light reflects off your paint as if it was glass, you've got your shine working. And none of those horrible holograms like you seem from the dudes who had their Benz detailed by some cheap$$ 'detailer' guy with a rotary buffer...
  12. Great improvement. Replacing those modules isn't cheap, so double win.
  13. Eesh, that thing was bad - really hammered. That 'detailer' was a hack. I see stuff like that all the time around OC. If the paint doesn't look new, you didn't do the job right. I wince at all the Benzes around here sporting holograms.
  14. Amazing... Clay Magic finally has not re-upped their patent on this stuff. Hope it cost them an arm and a leg. Wonder if they will be competitive after July? Don't get me wrong, I like the Adam's Clay (never used anything else) but I hear that there are better clays out there (like for our friends in Canada).
  15. Oh yes, that's how a vette should look. All those gleaming curves and shiny pipes... And the wheels are so right...
  16. I see that you used Revive (not listed above haha) on the car. What did you use it on, the black paint on wheels, rims, fenders, or did you find another use?
  17. Looks like the metal polishes got a workout. Did you use them on the bells? If so, how did they work?
  18. For me it's about the results. I don't care so much about the formula, just that it goes on and off easily, looks good, and it lasts.
  19. From despair to delight! Nicely done!
  20. Who knows, maybe they will come out with just FMP...
  21. Brother you are going to sleep after all that is done.
  22. My thought is that if the paint is hot, the polish may not get worked long enough for some reason. I don't know if heat does this for sure, though. Are you working the polish until it flashes? The other ideas might be that you are hurrying a little in your movement across the paint and/or the downward pressure on the pad is incorrect.
  23. waiting for a set to land in my mailbox. I assume they would come USPS, since they are small and light.
  24. If you are waxing in the sun, then the choice would be buttery. If you can keep the paint cooler 45-85 degrees then you can consider Americana. The other thing you might consider is Quick Sealant. Lasts for months. Temperature forgiving. Very reflective. Not the same look as wax, but still a good look, and tough coating for a DD to have.
  25. We'd be guessing without knowing the particulars.
