  1. Good to blow out any dust bunnies on the inside of a pc, too. Just don't get too close.
  2. ThankyewVerryMuch uh Huh Just don't want anyone to hesitate to get and use a PC. I was a green as grass to polishing and I got the results, but I had to try a couple of times to get it super nice. Part of it is technique, and that requires a bit of practice. GREAT tool. (and I have a flex, too)
  3. Machine Super Sealant is great stuff. Put it on with the gray pad PC setting of 3, wait 30 minutes for the sealant to cure, wipe it off, stand back and enjoy the shine. I have never seen a haze after the 12-24 hour inspection, but if I did, a quick mist with detail spray and a single soft wipedown will get rid of anything that potentially shows up. You will certainly need the SHR/orange pad, as there will be some (maybe not on every panel) deeper swirls that will need it's help to come out. The dealer cleaning guys may have put some on the car for you. The PC is a great polisher, and you can get stunning results with it. It polishes in a very gentle manner, so it is super safe. I never touched a polisher before using a PC. I have solid black paint which shows every little thing, so if I had problems, it would sure show. Guess what, no problems. Watch the PC polishing videos many times, then give it a try. You will be pleasantly surprised. (and it only takes a tiny amount of polish on the pad - more is worse) Only polish a 2' x 2' area at a time, so that the polish gets worked enough before it drys out. If you put on polish on too large an area, you can't work it enough before it gets dry. This is the safest way to polish I can think of, and there is PLENTY of help available here all the time. No worries, have fun!
  4. Flex: the FMP flashes way sooner than the PC, so don't overwork it. I have found that one pass of FMP does a lot of correction, so much so that I may not have to use SHR very often. That machine does some work!
  5. My cousin's son has a blue heeler. They are super smart, and definitely obsessive about following you around, usually with something in their mouth for you to throw. Yeah, one of those tennis ball throwing sticks (and a BIG park or yard) is necessary to tire those guys out, they are dynamos. Wonderful dogs...
  6. As soon as I saw those carbs with that intake on a 4 popper, I thought "Hm, british?"
  7. Yeah, there IS a difference between microfiber towels, and if you get it wrong, you swirl up your paint. There is a reason that the auto store towels/bulk buy store towels are cheap. And sometimes the binding thread on the cheapies will scratch up the paint, too, even if the body of the towel is ok. So, if you do a great job and get the finish looking right, then wipe off the polish and wax with cheap towels, you just undid your hours of work (aaah!). NOT what we all want
  8. What did you put on it last, sealant or wax? Very shiny, yeah, that's how it's done!
  9. I use my single softs for removal of polishes (SSR, SHR, FMP), or waxes and sealants (Quick Sealant, or MSS), detail spray wipedown of the finish, etc. I have a few double softs, and those I specifically use for Americana removal.
  10. Tough to dry here by moonlight- the dew starts after sundown and that makes it tough to get it to stay dry! With black paint, I've tried super early in the AM, seems to work better -
  11. Looking Good! Love that red. Maybe a little SVRT on the tires? Gotta have good shoes, too...
  12. Just checking, but when using MSS, did you apply it with a polisher (low speed), then let it set up for 30 minutes, wipe it off, then let it cure for at least 12 hours after that? You need to remove it at 30 minutes, then allow it to cure for another 12 hours, then double check for any hazing. Honestly, I have never seen any hazing on my black paint, and you'd think if anyone would see it, it would be me. If, after 12 hrs + you see any haze, give it a light spray with DS and wipe it off with a MF towel, a Single Soft or Double Soft. I love this stuff, it's my first go-to protection item. I usually put down a coat of MSS, then later (like the following weekend) top with BG, and then Americana. I like a nice layer of gorgeous protection.
  13. Looks perfectly normal to me. If it got any thicker, it would be tough to pour. Love that aroma... And I do get it by the gallon. I don't even fill up a 16 oz bottle anymore, too much hassle. Just grab the gallon, spin off the top, put two or 3 glugs in the bucket, 2 glugs into the foam gun, add appropriate water to each, ready to wash!
  14. Been dealing with that brown stuff as well. That glop that the tire dealer put on the tires takes a while to clean off the tires. Sure wish they hadn't put that stuff on, it's miserable to get off, and can't be good for the tires.
  15. If you have to choose one for your daily driver, it's MSS. I use it on my black paint and it's very tough. I live in a marine environment (coast), and work inland where it gets into the 90s in the summer (think egg frying heat on the finish) and it really lasts.
  16. I have had luck with claybar taking paint overspray off a neighbor's car. Came out great. I would make sure to have a couple bottles of DS and an extra clay bar to use after the strip wash. They claying will take longer than normal with that overspray on there, but clay it until the baggie test indicates that everything is nice and smooth. Then grab the PC and get down to business!
  17. yeah, but that's ok. If you are only going to use it on a red car, that's perfect.
  18. You can get a GPS broadcaster for the car, the kind you would use to track someone without their notice. You know, the magnetized kind...
  19. Nope, it doesn't remove the clear coat in any significant way. They should be more worried about the polish removing clear coat. Also, when you clay, you don't have to lean into the clay like you are grinding the clear coat with the clay. A gentle wipe back and forth with the clay patty does the work, and ( I believe) causes less marring that has to be removed later. I think the clay works more in a shearing motion, peeling the embedded particles out of the clear. At least that's my two cents. I still have clear on my black paint, and you know it would show it right away if it wore through the clear.
  20. Oh Yes! Looks great! Wonder if Lynn will comment
  21. And Metal polish #1 and #2 on the wheels for maximum bling. LOVE those wheels.
  22. NICELY done! That looks great now. Definitely, no more laundry baskets on the paint, or purses on the paint, or handbags on the paint, or any other item on the paint. That thing looks brand new, maybe better!
