  1. That black Bugatti - what style. Incredible. And that RR is very nice as well. Boy, those round contours really show off the shine.
  2. By hand it would be Swirl and Haze remover, then Revive, then wax. If you have a Porter Cable/Flex then SHR, then FMP and wax.
  3. Did you do a wipe down after the application about 30 minutes later? This sounds like you might have waited a bit long to remove it and/or used an excessive amount. You only need a thin film of this MSS for it to do the job. It's counter intuitive how much is needed. Especially with this product, use less than you might think. At this point I would try a DS wipedown after it has been freshly washed. If that doesn't get it off, (i.e if those patterns don't come out) I would think I would just strip it off with a 50/50 mixture of (a 90% IPA and distilled water), and then try again. Mist that 50/50mixture on the surface as you would detail spray, and wipe it off with a microfiber. That should take off anything on the finish. Since the finish is stripped and ready, you should be able to re apply the MSS quickly and sparingly, wipe it off after 30 minutes of curing, and then 24 hours later, check for any haze (which can be removed with a DS spritz and wipe down). Me personally, I have never seen any haze later at the 24 hr. point. I always put MSS on my paint after every correction, so I have had a few tries with that stuff. With MSS, thin is the way to go.
  4. Also, on those 'other' towels, sometimes the binding of the towel will scratch, too. And yes, better to not wash, than to wash, and then dry/touch your paint with rough microfiber etc. that swirl up the paint. The Adams MF drying towels single/double soft towels are worth it. You will appreciate this after you spend a day correcting all the swirls on a truck, and esp. on one with black paint. ASAP I would get the DS and APC in gallons. On the first claying, you will go really through the DS, probably the better part of 32 oz.
  5. Looks way better, but was surprised that the FMP step was omitted. I am sure that it was about time. I have really gotten hooked on what FMP does to the finish
  6. If the scratches can catch a fingernail, they will be too deep to polish out.
  7. I think that those of us with black paint are strongly attracted to Adam's products somehow... . This stuff makes black look amazing.
  8. +1 on the sealants. They last longest, great for a daily driver. After you wash and dry the car, and then do the 'hand in the baggie' test, don't be surprised if it feels a lot like coarse sandpaper. This is entirely normal, and those bumps can be removed by claying the car. (I would really be surprised if it was smooth, since it was living outside for a while).
  9. Geez, I duck out for a little while and Dylan's moved! Congratulations Dylan - I completely understand about cost of living et. al here in California. Being on site at HQ should be great, and being able to live on one income is a great thing and a huge benefit for Tanner. Now I understand about your buying a 4wd after the Avi (and not slamming it down on the ground). Remember, no flip flops in the snow, it freaks out the neighbors. (ask me how I know)
  10. Some folks go wild with these things, and it looks really tasty. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Wy_8b4i_ws&playnext=1&list=PL6037EA9703CD4D44&feature=results_video]Fortuna Apple Harvest Dutch Oven Cook-Off 10-02-2010 - YouTube[/ame]
  11. I use separate applicators. I didn't find that I could get all the QS out of the pad, at least to my satisfaction. I use a red UFO pad for QS, with QS written on it with a sharpie.
  12. I don't separate whites from blues, (and I still have a bunch of old doublesoft blues) but I do wash the utility towels separately (due to the gunk that gets on them, esp. metal polish). Haven't tried out the revitalizer yet, but soon...
  13. Nice nice nice! You are going to have some amazing results with that dark blue and black.
  14. Really nail down the math, work that course like crazy. Everything after that will be easier. Good luck, knuckle down, blow the younger ones into the weeds! YOU are they guy they fear, for them it's like going to school with a Veteran, those guys are serious about their grades and studies.
  15. I have been looking into the MSR MiniWorks EX water filter for my emergency bag. Leaning towards it over the Katadyn line. Really like that it's made in the USA, too.
  16. You might try soaking those towels in a couple ounces of APC in a bucket for a day or so and see if that helps. Since they have been dried, I am guessing that it may not have a lot of effect on them. I have also found that (yeah, in retrospect) keeping them wet after they get stained helps, so if they get black marks, I toss them into a bucket of water with a couple ounces of APC, let them soak, and then wash them the next day. (For the record, I haven't used the Adams microfiber cleaner yet.) Also had very good luck (before washing them) in doing spot treating with straight APC. (you use what you have). I would bet that those will come out eventually. It's tough getting those towels near a tire. I usually use my Blaster sidekick do dry the sidewalls, or an old Tshirt that I can toss afterwards. That tire and rubber molding carbon really hangs on.
  17. What a beautiful beastie! Can't wait for the next video, with sound! Great job sir!
  18. One of the other great things about buttery wax is that you can apply it in full sun. I have done this on my black paint when it was hot (as a test) and it worked great. Very shiny stuff. On and off very fast. One of the first things that got me hooked on Adams.
  19. Nice! Great job - whoever is getting to drive that will roll in style! Wheels are lookin' good, too!
