  1. Definitely won't get desired results by using one of the Wash Pads or Mits for Rinseless Wash. During testing it was discovered that plush microfiber works better with the least amount of chance to induce damage. I would recommend using either the Blue MF Towels or Single Softs as Rinseless Wash media. I myself use Single Softs. Lots of good advice given in the above posts, let's try and sum, some of it up... It's okay to blast off the heavy stuff at a co-op car wash first, water only. Having a pressure sprayer on hand to pre-soak the panels is a good idea. Pre-soaking the area with Rinseless diluted as Waterless is another method some people use. Use plush microfiber towels as Wash Media for this application.
  2. Too many *dirty* towels is always my problem. I need a detailing maid.
  3. I love they ID that. I don't love they carry CMagic.
  4. Pretty excited and hopeful that I will get my hands on one to polish out! The specs on this thing is ridiculous and AWESOME! I was thinking last night on, if they do build a ZR-1...what would it be? This one is supercharged, so what if GM decided to Turbo one of them puppies? Would that be out of the question? That was rumored to have been the original C7 motor anyway right? A High revving, 4.x L block with a Turbo. Interesting!
  5. The ones I have had customers bring me in person seem less than desirable to polish a car. If you like the one you picked up, then awesome man.! I am seeing a ton of both good and bad reviews for the polisher. Did you buy the extended warranty? PC were Made in Mexico, but the heads have made their way into being Made in China. I don't know about the rest of the machine--as to where it's made/maufactured.
  6. With paint that old you will still get transfer even by hand. However, by hand is going to be your safest method, as I don't think it can hit 6,000 OPM. If it can, YOU ROCK! That said, getting SHR or PCP to work by hand isn't going to give you the desired result as a machine would, so temper your expectations with hand product.
  7. Hot damn! I WILL have one of these for a driver someday.
  8. I hear you man. My pig is filthy right now. Supposed to get to 50* today and maybe 60* tomorrow. I plan on heading to the Co Op for some blasting, then back here for a RW. CM had a GREAT IDEA. Bring your towels for them to use only on your car, then take them home and clean them for the next time you go.

I will be very sad to see something really close to my heart cross the blocks. Weaver Customs' "Boost" will be up for auction. For those who remember, I was blessed and honored by them to take this car from 600 all the way through finish for Detroit Autorama last year. Also spent some time with them and Boost at Hot August Nights. I have never met such down to earth and awesome people or seen a build as such that would make my heart leap and soul happy just seeing it! Getting a ride in it from Sydney Weaver during a Cruise night at Hot August Nights was about the coolest 5 minutes I've had in a long time. Congratulations to Weaver Customs on another Build off to Auction!
  10. Speed 3, No Pressure, Let it Spread. Black or Red Pad.
  11. To get hood liners clean in the past, I have used Adam's APC and the Fender Brush. I used long, straight, downward motions, then dried it with the Master Blaster. I took mine off my TBSS, because I thought it was ugly!
  12. I have gotten into the habit of leaving the bucket with the remaining juice in it...so I can be all OCD and wash my glass daily now. Oh the Loon Bin is just WARMING a seat for me! Can't wait for the gallons!
  13. I'm with Chewy, I rarely, if ever use that harsh, I won't even call it soap...I'll call it a cleaner. I'll spend the entire stack of quarters on high pressure rinse, then boogie home to either administer a Two Bucket Wash or a Rinseless Wash. That's crazy and scary at the same time how harsh that junk is.
  14. I think what Tony is saying is this: We use CAR polish and wax to treat our clear coats on our vehicles. Correct/Protect/etc. For WOOD, much like a lot of other items with their specific "barrier" on them, a varnish, whatever, has it's own type of products to be used for cleaning/protecting/etc.
  15. Perfectly normal. Make sure to shake all of your products at least once a month when not in season.
  16. Next you're gonna tell me I should be using Mop'N'Glo on my three wheeler.
  17. I really love that car. Thanks again for allowing me to shine it up for you a couple months back! LOOKING GREAT!
  18. I prefer the new Blues over the new Silvers. I don't know if or any of them will stick around. I would love the see the Blue towels. LOVE those more than Single Softs.
  19. I died laughing at your boy in costume, "Fighting Swirls and Saving the Citizens of Thornton."
  20. Way to bring that sucker back from the Danger Zone, Ice Man!
  21. I personally have had to let people down the hard way a couple times with HB Polishers. I know Adam's doesn't sell the PC7424 anymore, maybe you could find one used or go purchase one from Tool King or Lowe's. That's about the only thing near that price point, that I feel is any good.
  22. Well, the next time I get a Corvette made out of Birch or Alder, I'll be sure to finish with it.
  23. Usually those can be had at the $20 mark during big sale times. Black Friday, Father's Day, etc. Home Depot sells them right now for $49. My thing with ANYTHING I AM STANDING ON TO SUPPORT ME: If It's cheap...too cheap, guess who's gonna have a broken butt bone, shoulder, etc? The guy who didn't spend the right amount to get a quality support stand. .02
