  1. In all seriousness though, I am disappointed it happened here though. This is a rare and special place here in the automotive forums community and certainly doesn't need trolls making a mess of things.
  2. I am shocked and appalled. I mean, it's a sad day to hear that people just get on the Internet and LIE! It's shocking, but I guess it happens.
  3. Thank you everyone! And thanks to Chris for posting this, you are too kind! So, this saves me from making a thread, LOL! I am back on US soil and loving every minute of it. If you noticed, about midtour I dropped out of sight here. That's because I was chosen to take over NCOIC duties of one of our forward surgical elements, which kept me pretty busy. I am very thankful for that opportunity. I had a hell of a team, we saved some lives, and got valuable experience as a medic and a leader. So now I am home, enjoying the family, driving the 55 (yes, it's running, and no, I haven't taken pictures yet. Been driving it instead! I will update the rebuild thread when I get to it) and just being home. I will be fairly active here again in the near future. The '55 needs a full detail, and all of the other vehicles need a freshening up as well.
  4. From one Soldier to an other, welcome! And yes, I can imagine El Paso being brutal on vehicles. I have been there a couple times and outside of town it looks like Afghanistan or Iraq as far as I am concerned!
  5. LOL. That's actually a running joke on message boards whenever a picture of a wrecked car is posted. That, and "That will buff out!"
  6. This. I have one, but I haven't used it on vehicles post-detail. Seemed a bit risky to me. On glass is another story entirely.
  7. No bueno. That didn't take long now did it?
  8. That thing turned out gorgeous. Absolutley love those.
  9. I agree, avoidance is the best course of action. However, the PC is very forgiving and will likely not cause any issues if you were to accidently cross into that area.
  10. Congrats dude! I don't know why, but Rams always seem to pull off white better than any other truck in my opinion.
  11. Welcome! I have passed through Lodi a few times visiting family around Nor-Cal. Really digging the truck man!
  12. I have never had much of an issue with streaking when wiping down with IPA post-polish. I am using an Adam's Great White Drying towel so maybe that is why. If you have the time to, there is nothing wrong with doing a two bucket wash prior to sealing as well. A lot of people might shy away because of some residual water coming out of the nooks and crannies while sealing, but if you have a Master Blaster (or leaf blower) you can mitigate this.
  13. Great looking Z! I am going to be back Stateside early summer. I will have to watch the video when I am on my computer. Work network is not YouTube friendly.

    More bad news..

I am so sorry for your loss. It's one thing when they are older or ill, but when they are young and it is sudden, it is especially tough. As an animal lover myself, I cannot imagine losing of my kitties. Hell, I don't do well when I lose a fish.
  15. Welcome! Boerne might just have the highest member ratio to town population of any town on the forum now.
  16. Same issue I have doing my Tundra. I will stand on anything I can, the bed for the back half of the roof, the running boards or open the doors for the middle to front and the tire itself for the windshield. I have tried a conventional step ladder, but have found myself leaning over too much to be considered safe IMO. The Werner platform would be a wise investment, LOL!
  17. Looks great! I don't believe I have seen one with that paint scheme before.
  18. I like how accessable the site has become for our Aussie and Kiwi friends. Magnum is looking good though!
  19. Oh yeah. I am big lurker there, don't post much. I am on reddit daily though.
  20. Being stationed in Georgia I feel your pain. What I did was just wait until I could do a proper two bucket wash. Once in a while I would use WW with a purple waffle weave, but usually on "lighter" pollen days. I will say that I believe a well polished, sealed and waxed car makes it difficult to stick to the finish...but my evidence is anecdotal.
  21. Great job! And you're right, there is just something special about the "Terminator" Cobra Mustangs.
  22. I love the new C7. I cannot wait to see one in person. The more I read, the more I come away with the feeling that the engineers are applying the practical applications of racing technology the right way with this generation. Plus, it finally looks like it has a proper interior.
  23. Yes! Another must have when I return from the 'Stan. You all know I am polishing the Welds and all of the brightwork on the '55 when I get back!
