  1. I somehow didn't notice that the camera cover was partially obstructing the lens when shooting the before pictures so I junked them. Here are a few after pictures of the interior of my Tundra I did yesterday. All of the light surfaces were pretty soiled, so I am very pleased how nice it turned out. TID continues to impress!
  2. Had that guy been washing the whole car with the wheel brush from the coin op? You did a hell of job based off of the before pictures.
  3. Agreed. I detailed my good friend's new car last year and the paint required a thorough claying. Granted, the polishing process went quickly since it was new, but the amount of contamination was shocking.
  4. Happy birthday Adam. I hope it was a great one!
  5. LOL, mine too. I am looking forward to finally using mine. It's been sitting in the fridge since my wife ordered it. Once I can detail my 350Z again I think it is getting the Patriot treatment.
  6. Friday I washed the Z and yesterday I washed the wife's Civic. But last weekend I spent a whole Saturday detailing the engine bay and giving a thorough two bucket wash to this behemoth right here:
  7. I'll say! Your Challenger looks as smooth and shiny as glass. Looks great!
  8. Incredible car. If I had the means to get one to replace my Z with one I would. World class performance with daily drivability? Yes please!
  9. Man, that Vette is sinister looking. I love it.
  10. I agree completely. The engine cover is actually the lesser of two evils. Without it, the ugly truck intake is plainly visible. Eventually the intake will be swapped out, but in the meantime I have kicked around the idea of sanding off the Vortec logo, painting it and adding a badge to it. It's temporary so I can take some risks with it. Thanks and yes, it's incredible being able to hop in and go whenever I like with new car drivability. It's actually out of a 2004 Hummer H2 from what I understand. Thanks everyone! It's a real five footer if you know what I mean. Any closer than that you can see all of the issues going on with the paint. Regardless, it's a real head turner and a blast to drive!
  11. A real gorefest! I must of bumped my head because I forgot to get pictures of it in action. Thanks man!
  12. Back again with some updated pictures of the '55. These were shot a couple weeks back by me after I completed a full detail on it. I threw just about the whole Adam's catalog at it, but if you are interested in anything specific please let me know. Here are a few of my favorite shots:
  13. Hey everybody! Unsure whether DWC and the Metal Polish twins will do the trick on your old aluminum wheels? Take a look at my Weld Pro Stars. The stamp on them indicates that they were manufactured in 1995 and from my estimate, they have never been polished. Although, it looks like they have been cared for reasonably well despite the seriously filthy backsides. This is likely due to the small gap between the spokes and brakes. I removed the fronts completely to clean and polish. Unfortunately, the rear wheels were too wide to remove completely without deflating the tires, so they were cleaned and polished while still on the car. Despite it all, I think they still turned out well...thanks to Adam's! Front before: Backside all cleaned up with DWC: Comparison: The wheel on the left is unpolished, the one mounted is. Front and rears; cleaned, polished and back on the car out in the sunlight:
  14. That is beautiful, and done just right. You ought to be very proud!
  15. I knew that was where you were heading to, I just didn't know why until now!
  16. Looks great man, even without the full correction. It always trips me out how some of the older car guys really don't care all too much how the paint looks. My Dad had some phenomenal cars, had an outstanding sense of what looked good, but really didn't get bothered about swirls in the paint.
  17. Man, you and that duo just kill it on black paint lately. I love C63 AMGs. They are like sophisticated muscle cars.
  18. Thanks for the speedy response, Chris! I'm not very tall either and this first time it got real sketch for me. The two other vehicles I have done with the Flex I experienced it, but not nearly as bad as on the Chevy this go around. I have to try your technique in future details for sure. Additionally, I think this thread is a great idea. I definitely didn't want to start a thread just to ask that question. *Edit*. I felt I should add that I do use step stools and the only time I have experienced the Flex getting squirrelly is with the white pad.
  19. My Flex turns into a wild animal on roofs. I know it requires a fair amount of pressure to keep it under control, but for whatever reason, I just can't seem to keep it from becoming a unwieldy beast once I have to extend my arms out to do roofs properly and have switched back to the PC recently while polishing the roof on the '55. Short of getting a platform of some sort so I can "get over the top of it" better, is there a technique you all use to keep the Flex reined in once you have to do high, flat areas such as roofs or truck hoods? Thanks in advance!
  20. Unreal! I almost cannot wait to deplete my current supply so I can get the new polishing system! Callaway Corvettes are something special to me. I remember reading about them as a kid. I have seen one or two in person as an adult and it is almost like seeing a comic book character or something come to life.
  21. Rack of baby backs, with my own spin on some store bought dry rubs, smoked nearly four hours with hickory chips. Yes, the yard is overgrown. Keeps raining though!
  22. This thread makes me feel like a slacker! My bed is Line-X and I have never bothered washing it since it is, well, the bed of a pickup. I may just have to hit mine up now with the above techniques!
  23. With the last few revisions, the dark is simply awesome now. Loving it.
