  1. Sorry everyone, after seeing a bunch of new Great Whites in my detailing cabinet when I returned home, I think it was my wife who depleted the supply!
  2. Vacuumed the '55 and then grabbed the CUC to clean the mats. Tomorrow I will be steam-cleaning the carpet. With less than stellar weatherstripping, the carpets are nasty. We'll see how they turn out. I would hate to have to replace the carpet as well! After the mats were cleaned it was time for dinner. After dinner I removed an old decal from the rear window of the Chevy and then mowed the yards. Still sweated about a gallon or so despite the sun being down.
  3. Maybe it was implied, but do you have a black MSS application pad? Do not be nervous about using your PC, it is a very user friendly and forgiving machine! As Frank had said, and for the reasons he stated, you can get away with only having one orange pad and one white pad for polishing. I will add that proper after-care will ensure great longevity. I still have the pads that came with my kit that I purchased over three years ago!
  4. Ugh, really disappointed here. I have been a huge Oakley fan since my first pair of M-Frames I bought when I was 12. I am more of a fan of the plastic framed ones anyways, but had a old pair of Half Wires that finally gave out just recently that I had for years. Those things took a beating. I will definitely be looking at them more carefully from now on.
  5. Good to see a positive update my man!
  6. Yesterday I swapped out the faded hood and trunk badges on the 55 for some brand new ones. Funny how something seemingly minor like that makes such a big difference. Today I hope to be able to reinstall the trunk lock after I cut down the lock shaft so it doesn't hit the battery box. No more opening the trunk with a screwdriver for me!
  7. Hey man, I just wanted to tell you that the results are awesome. I feel like I am looking at a nearly showroom fresh 69 Firebird right now!
  8. Sorry, I have been up to a few other things lately. I did, and I appreciate it. I think I am going with what I have on hand for now. If that doesn't yield the results I am after I will have to adjust fire. Thanks!
  9. Turned out really good! As others have already said, it's easy maintenance from here on out now!
  10. I only recently a had 36oz bottles added to the collection and had only used the Car Shampoo thus far, so i guess i am a little indifferent at the moment. It makes a lot of sense why they will be discontinued, and we the customers will adjust. As detailers, we always figure something out!
  11. Thanks you two, very helpful advice. Searching through all of my new goodies my wife bought me while I was gone, I do have some of those swabs already, which will help greatly with the script and some other tight spots on the chrome. I did have to replace the two badges on the hood and trunk as they were pretty pitted and would never polish out. Should be able to get those installed next weekend along with the trunk lock.
  12. Hey Jonathan, I appreciate that! It may sound insane, but the Focus Pads didn't even cross my mind. I definitely need to add them to my arsenal regardless, this just seals the deal for me. The script on the front fender is actually chrome as well so I would need to polish them the same as other pieces. I will look into the polishing swabs though, sounds like they might be the ticket! I am thinking that it would make more sense to polish all of the bright work first before moving on to the paint. Has anyone else found this to be the case as well? I know off hand that JBlack151 has polished a lot of older cars with lots of chrome, so I am hoping he jumps in here at some point!
  13. I love those little guys. Especially with the power that one is pumping out. Hell of a sleeper right there! Turned out gorgeous!
  14. Couldn't quite find what I was looking for when I performed a search, so forgive me if this has been discussed before. I was hoping some of you that have detailed older cars with lots of chrome trim could give me some pointers on how you polished it? I imagine a lot of masking is done to avoid hitting the paint with MP, but are you doing this prior to polishing the rest of the vehicle? Also, i was curious about polishing the more intricate pieces such as lettering. The bright work on the 55 needs love along with the rest of the car, but I wasn't quite sure how to tackle it. Thanks in advance!
  15. Honesty, I am not bothered by the new format(s). I use my iPad or iPhone for all posting at the moment and have found each version to work fine for me. Maybe when I do a write up and want to post pictures I will feel differently. Definitely agree with everyone else about wanting a dark background though
  16. Congratulations Adam and Melissa! I am very happy for you the both of you and your family!
  17. Thanks all! My wife got me lots of new goodies for the detailing arsenal so I should be very busy when the time is right. I still need to pull everything out to see what's all in there!
  18. I remember when we first became customers and my wife called to check on an order. After speaking with someone who you would of thought she'd known for years after that conversation she hung up. I asked who she talke to and she told me that his name was Adam. I said babe, that was Adam himself! She said no way, there has to be someone else there with the same name. She couldn't believe that Adam himself was fielding calls on the customer service line. We couldn't get over how cool that was and it was very endearing to us as new customers.

    Perfect for my 55!
  20. Same issue here with the truck. The 55 and the 350Z currently reside in the garage, so it sits outside. After all the time and effort washing that beast it is very frustrating when nature does her thing.
  21. I will have to see if I can find the copy I made of when the 350Z graced the banner! Cool thread!
  22. I have had my Escort Passport 8500 for about seven years and it has never let me down. All this time and still works flawlessly.
  23. Thanks Mook, my wife is truly amazing and I am forever grateful for the support that you and the Adams Team gave her! She spoils me rotten, doesn't she? Thanks for all of the love everyone! As far as the 55 is concerned, it needs a full detail. I am so thrilled its running I am just going to drive it as is for the time being. It has a bunch of little things I need to do, mostly cosmetic, that I would like to fix. First thing first is replacing the key barrel on the trunk. Opening the trunk with a flathead screwdriver is some BS! I also want to replace the faded badges on the hood and trunk. There is a ton of detail projects on it, and other projects, so look for those threads in the future!
