  1. Gerry and Mook have hit the nail on the head. Even on a daily driver any of the Adam's line of sealants last a long while. Adding Buttery or Americana on top of the sealant will not only enhance the shine but will act as an additional sacrificial barrier. Protect the car's finish with a sealant and protect the sealant with wax. When you notice a significant reduction in the sealant's hydrophobic properties start thinking about a more comprehensive detailing.

  2. A few years ago, to demonstrate the awesomeness of the amazing polishes produced by Adam's here on the forums, Dylan started posting photos of himself (ad nauesium) giving a thumbs up, reflected in a myriad of doors, hoods, and other painted surfaces. The term "Von Kleisting" was termed for these shots. We have all taken this photo at some point. Admit it.

So as a thank you to Dylan for all the knowledge, hard work, and mentoring he has given us all, let's give him a send off to his next adventure in a detailer's fashion.

    Thanks Dylan

  3. Dylan may you find every opportunity for happiness in your next adventure and beyond. You have been a great help to me in helping create my own successful business and in becoming the detailer I am today. The knowledge I have gained from you on the forums and in person has been instrumental in my success. So a heartfelt thank you for all you have done for me and the little community of insane detailers you helped create.

And you know you have enough free beers in Colorado to cover every brew made in this state at least once over. Come by the shop anytime and I'll buy you one.

  4. I still detail out in the cold. Latex gloves with chemical hand warmers in them help. Rinseless wash in the cold requires the warmest water possible. And drying towels for your hands. lol

@Mook, if you need an indoor place let me know. My new shop is inside Unser Racing and is functional. I would love to see you stop by. PM me if you want to stop by or need an indoor space to wash the TBSS.

  5. Tony, I would suggest starting with the least aggressive method needed to do the job. But for a black car I would start with Paint Correcting Polish and the orange microfiber pad then step down to the Paint Finishing Polish and a white foam pad in a test area. If you like that then great, do the whole vehicle. We have been using the Severe Swirl Remover and green pads for more focused correction letting the PCP and PFP do the heavy lifting.

  6. Thanks for the write up Dylan. I have been trying to come up with methods for one of my fleet clients. We clean up to a dozen vehicles on the street in Downtown Denver in a single day, and some of them get pretty trashed. What we have come up with is very similar to what you outlined. Good to see that others have come up with the same thing.

BTW, the Rinseless Wash is making our job so much easier as full-time detailers. We are loving the product. Thank you!!

  7. Just remember to start with the least-aggressive method required to get the job done. I don't think you will have any issue with the CF top using Adam's and the methods taught here.  However, I would approach those areas by hand first then, if needed, paint finishing polish and white foam pad. As I understand it, CF has different properties than metal and fiberglass and retains and concentrates heat better when you polish. So work in smaller areas for less time when machine polishing these CF areas. Someone with more knowledge may speak up and clarify this.
