  1. I detailed the red Ferrari 360 and the owner of the 356 is one of my clients as well, although I have not detailed that particular car of hers. Sorry I missed the event but I had a hunny-do list today.
  2. C.J. can you post a pciture so we can see how bad (or not so bad) it is/ This may help the community come up with options for you.
  3. That cat is the feline version of Marvin, the manically depressed android from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
  4. Never mind that man behind the curtain. (shhhhhh, it's Jose)
  5. Just in time for the Taste of Colorado. The wife and I are heading there Saturday afternoon. A Taste of Colorado - Civic Center Park - Denver Post What do you have planned? Adam's Forums members meet up?
  6. What they said. Especially if you are anywhere near Detroit, which as locals know, is one big salt mine. Protect your ride from all that salt at least and get a few more years of no rust.
  7. You gotta put wax on the car, DUMMY As I tell people I encounted, Dawn is great for getting oil off a penguin, so it will definitly get wax off of your car.
  8. IMHO it doesn't look like the Quick Sealent is being applied or knocked down evenly after application. Use a single soft towel lightly and very fast over the finish and do it in the sun as soon as possible after application. Do this in the sun so you can see where it is "streaking" for lack of a better term. the longer you wait the more the sealent is cured and the less effective this will be. Do it as soon as possible becuase Quick Sealent cures very fast. Hope that helps.
  9. OK Everyone. I have a Ferrari 355 in the shop that was caught in a hail storm and as a result is absolutly covered in tree sap (or pitch as everyone in our shop is calling it). The sap on the single-stage paint is not an issue. It is the convertible fabric top that I am having trouble with. It is in chunks/large dollups. I washed it with the fire hose nozzle on full strengh and washed with Car Shampoo, then Dawn dish soap, then I hit a few spots with Carpet and Upholstry Cleaner to no avail. I need a safe way to get this off. I have some RaggTopp at home and that is my next step. Any ideas for a fabric convertible top caked with tree sap? Thanks in Advance dp.
  10. The sun is very inconsiderate, uncaring, and down-right mean sometimes. Stupid jerk sun.
  11. You are going to get a lot of suggestions. I use the stand-up 1,200-watt halogen at home and at the shop we also have flourescents, LEDs,and halide lights installed overhead. No matter what you use, final inspection should always be out in the sun.
  12. It is about time. I thought I was the only RMSSC member on here. Welcome!!!
  13. Dylan, I am making this post so I won't forget to bring you something. Because if I don't I will forget. And now when I do forget everyone can get on my butt about it.
  14. Not just the right choice, but the offical, licenced choice of GM. Adam's is the official car care product for the Camaro and Corvette. Welcome.
  15. Well at least water won't be a problem.
  16. Wecome Dylan. I will finally get to meet you in person after all this time. I will be by on Friday to prep for a show, so maybe we will run into each other.
  17. 6 AM. Jose!!!! The Man Cave Detailing and Adam's Car Wash Area And for Adam!
  18. Wow! What an amazing event for the Adam's Team. Corvettes of every year and color with no two Vettes the same. And what a great back drop for these awesome cars. The Shine Crew showed up at 6 AM at the Vintage Hotel in Winter Park Colorado, about two hours from Adam's HQ. We set up next to event sponsor and Adam's Dealer Purifoy Chevrolet. The two days preceeding the event, Man Cave Colorado (another Adam's dealer where I am also the lead detailer) detailed dozens of Vettes on site and also attended a free, self-serve car wash with Car Shampoo, Grit Gaurds, 9 by 9 wash pads, and Great White Towles donated by Adam's. There wasn't a dirty car to be seen. Everything went well until a 10 minute rain storm which sent the owners of a couple hundred Vettes running into the hotel and under the Adam's Tent. Special thanks to Looking Glass Corvette Association, Vettes on the Rockies, Purifoy Chevrolet, Winter Park Colorado, Man Cave, and all the our loyal customers and new friends we made. For you viewing pleasure: photos.
  19. While a Flex can really help you out, the PC may get you there with the green pd and Severe Swirl Remover, but it is going to take time. Typically I find the Flex is 3 times faster at correcting than a PC. Be patient.
  20. Thanks to everyone who voted already. We are in the final streatch and in a back and forth fight for first place. This has been a tough competition and it is not over yet. Every vote counts. This is a difficult award to win especially since it is our first year in business. If you are so inclined to help out a local Adam's dealer and detail shop we would greatly appreciate it. Thanks! Vote for Best Detailing in the Denver Area - Denver A-List
  21. Things I have learned back packing. Know where the ranger stations are and how to get a hold of them. If they are NPS, BLM, etc. Flares and signal mirrors are a must. If you can find something that weighs two ounces less buy it even it it costs a lot more. 2 ounces here, 3 ounces there, adds up to pounds you don't have to carry. Batteires suck. Buy the best most light weight you can (from the pic I think you got that covered). Socks, socks, and socks. Motrin, lots of motrin (60 pound packs). Extra plastic clips for your pack. When they break you are screwed. Kindles weigh less than books. And always volunteer to carry the food. The load gets lighter each day. :-) I am jelous of your trip. It is one I have not gotten to do. Have a great time and be safe.
  22. First thing to do is look at your credit. You can get you credit history and score online at the major credit companyies (Equifax, Experian and Transunion). You are allowed one free look at your creidit history a year but you do have to pay to see your score. Looking at your own credit will not harm you. If you know where you are then you will have a better idea of where you need to be. I screwed up my credit royally when I was younger. I bought a band-new truck when I was 18. It was a big mistake (says me 15 years later). One trick I learned is when you look at your credit history, dicpute everything. The credit companies have to prove your record within 30 days. If they don't then it must be deleted. I had 15 late payments to GMAC removed that way. My best advice is that the best way to keep a good creid score is don't screw it up inthe first place. Pay cash if you can for everything. We just bought a 2008 Saturn Vue, $16K cash. If you really want something sleep on it. If you still really want it after a week then it must be important. But loans are not the only way. and don't buy a new car. Get a used one. The value of a used car depreiates at a much slower rate than that of a new car. I have owned many new cars and i will never buy another one. You get so much more for a used vehicle. and with warrenties lasting 100,000 miles, you don;t have to worry so much.
  23. i just ran through the videos. I am going to see about doing a training day with our Team to get them acquainted with the awesome new products and some changes to the processes. The video quality is tremendously better than the previous videos. Doing production over two days was brilliant, you guys don't look and sound nearly as tired towards the end. I especially like Dylan plugging the home uses we have all discovered over winter time! After watching I wish i would have taken the time to come out for the filming to meet everyone I have not met yet. Next time. Congrats to Mook on his first speaking role in the videos.
