    Cool garage!

I had one of those in my house when I was a kid. Sure it was a hotwheels payset, but I had one, and it was in my house.
  2. Going to have agree with Dylan and Bunky. They gave a much better option than what I would have given you.
  3. I think Mook can help you with that. Maybe. Almost certainly. Probably. There might be one or two places around here with beer. Is the sarcasm coming on thick enough?
  4. This would be the perfect opportunity for Dylan to learn what detailing outside in winter in Colorado is like.
  5. Patience is a skill, not a virtue. With any skill, it requires lots of practice.
  6. Count me in Lynn. I will also try to bring the Man Cave Colorado Team down, or at least our detailers (plan on about 4 of us). I was just thinking about some contiued training for them today in fact. The best part about our detailing business is being 25 minutes from the headquarters of our product supplier!!! When it is all over, you should come down to our shop for our open house night.
  7. Apparently after 4 years it was blatently obvious. You gonna smoke something that has been through 4 Detroit winters in your fender well? Thanks for all the responses all. This is becoming an interesting thread.
  8. My wet sanding skills could definitly be better. Beyond that, single-stage paint. After that I would have to say touch-up painting. Combine these items and put it on a Ferrari, and I really have to take my time and pucker up.
  9. Welcome aboard!!! Little know fact: shipments to Australia are packaged upside down in Colorado U.S.A. so that when they reach you, they are the right side up.
  10. This question came up because my brother had his car detailed (He and I live on opposite sides of the country so I did not do the detail). The detailer found a large amount of pot in the fender well. Seeing as how my brother bought this car 4 years ago, the weed had gone bad a long long time ago. But nobody really had any idea of what to do. He called me and asked what I would do but I come up with nothing. He considered calling the dealership he bought the car from but what good would that do? Calling the police was also an option. I have no idea what he ultimatly did. Well this brought up what we should be doing around our shop and what our policies should be. We have decided to table anything until after the election as we are voting on the legaization of recreational marijuana. (Less than 1 oz would be legal in Colorado if passed and a lot of money wold go to the schools so, yea.) I wanted to see what other shops do and what your policies may be. We have probably all run ito a few seeds and stems from interior details. I personally have no issue with pot. But the question is, what do you do if or when you run into any illegal drugs when doing a detail?
  11. Well what about the elk, bears, and geese? There are so many other animals that can benefit from moving their signs. nice find.
  12. Thank you!!! As someone who uses Adam's exclusively in our shop this is a great tool for helping us keep up on inventory. As things run out or we are low, we can add it to our list and keep it until we are ready to place an order. Thanks Dylan.
  13. All great advice. Here is how I go about it in my shop. It isn't about what is done but more about the order and how we go about doing it. 1) Remove the cabin air filter(s). 2) Clean all hard surfaces with Adam's Leather and Interior Cleaner (under the seats, under the dash, in the vents, everywhere). 3) Remove the seats from teh vehicle and clean undeneath with Adam's Leather and Interior Cleaner. 4) With a light mist, treat the carpet and seats with Adam's Carpet and Upholstry Cleaner in spray mode on the sprayer, agetate, and let set for 5 to 10 minutes. 5) Use an extractor with Adam's Carpet and Upholstry Cleaner added to the hot water and clean the carpets and seats. (do not us an extractor on the head liner) 6) Pull up the carpet up, where you can, and clean the underside and clean the floor pan with Adam's Leather and Interior Cleaner. 7) Treat the headliner with Adam's Carpet and Upholstry Cleaner as directed on the bottle. 8) When everything has dried, treat the interior with a an odor elimintaor designed to encapsulate odor molecules (something like Ozium). Spray the underside of the carpets, under the seats, the headliner, in the air vents, under the dash, EVERYWHERE. Be liberal. 9) Reinstall the seats following manufacturer recomendations for bolt torque specifications. 10) Start the vehicle, roll up the windows, turn on the A/C, and set to recirculate. Spray the odor eliminator liberally (you may want to use an odor "bomb") and let the car run for about 10 minutes with doors shut and you NOT in the car. This will allow the odor eliminator to get the smell out of the ventilation system. 11) Replace the cabin air filter with a new filter. 12) Treat the interior with Adam's Leather conditioner (you can use this on all hard interior panels, it is not just for leather). 13) Clean or replace your floor mats. Contact Adam's for Weathertech Floor Mats. Hope this helps.
  14. The car commercial that really angered me recently was the Ford commercial where they show off the new technology that allows you to open the tailgate with your foot when you are carrying too much stuff. Are you seriously telling me that NOBODY (me included) came up with and implemented this idea years ago. It seems sooooo obvious. That commercial actually made me feel dumb. Here's the demo. God this makes me feel sooooo stupid. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTocB4O3G1I]2013 Ford Escape hands-free Power Tailgate Technology Demo - YouTube[/ame]
  15. Congrats Len. It is better that you and your wife made the decision together and that you were able to leave your old job on your own. When I made the leap, leaving the old job was not my choice and the wife and I had very long and difficult conversations. Here I am nearly a year later and things are starting to go very very well. If there is anything you need help with, I am available as I am sure the rest of the Adam's Forums Family. Good luck.
  16. welcome to the addiction. You will need one of these soon
  17. Wow. Just wow. You know now if you do not produce pictures after we will be highly upset.
  18. If by mobile shopping you mean get in the car and go to the warehouse, then yes.
  19. Most expensive I know of is $3500 for 400mL of wax. Paul Dalton's wax runs $1500 for 200mL.
  20. You don't need a school, you just need education. I got the majority of my detailing knowledge from watching the Adam's Instructional Videos, going to countless clinics, asking lots of questions and reading all I could on the forums here, and just hanging out with the Adam's users and the rest of the Shine Team. And practice practice practice. I didn't go to any school. Just keep doing it, learn from your mistakes, and perfect your technique. It worked for me, and I was just voted the number 1 detailer in Denver and I have only been professionally detailing for less than a year.
  21. I have a small sony HD camcorder and a glass mount on the windshield. Oddly enough it shakes a lot and i use an adam's block sponge to stabilize it.
  22. Chase nailed it. Use a hand applicator. Not that you can't use a PC, but one slip or too much presure and water spots won't be the issue anymore.
  23. It is hard to know how far you can go without seeing the car and metering the paint. Otherwise, same process, white and fine machine polish to start with then work your way up from there. Just stay away from the edges. You can burn them very very quickly. How old is the paint job?
  24. If you don't want to wet sand (which from the discription and photos is exactly what you should do, but I get your trepidation and no worries there) you can polish on it a few more times and then use 2 or 3 coats of Brilliant glaze to try and hide it.
