  1. So our old company shirts were getting pretty ragged. I needed to order some more an while I was at it I decided to have some fun. My wife and I had some friends over a few months back and we were discussing what some fun slogans to put on the shirts would be. My official tag line is: High Point Detailing, High Quality - High Shine. But that is not as memorable as making someone laugh. My wife thought about the old Coed Naked shirts and we came up with "Detailers Do It' Till It Shines." I came up with "It Puts The Polish On The Car Or Else It Gets The Hose Again" (see my signature). The wife did not like that, said no one would get it. I thought it was funny and that much better for when people did understand the reference. So I ordered shirts with both slogans. I am curious if anyone has any other detailing related slogans?
  2. Added some stripes today. Not so much for looks but for function. The fiberglass cowl has some crows feet that are covered up and a small chunck was taken out of the leading edge. So as opposed to repainting... Progress pics.
  3. I can tell you from experience that Detail Spray does not work below zero (F). Freezes before it hits the car.
  4. If you choose to put on multiple coats put down THIN coats.
  5. The Flex is my workhorse. I literally use it just about every day. It is a great machine and takes a lot of abuse. Most of the people here on the forums only use this tool a few times a year. Mine sees a few dozen vehicles a month and saves me all kinds of time and hence makes me more money detailing. The PC is still a great machine but the Flex is far supperior. The price increase is still worth having one.
  6. Well if Mrs. Mook is happy, then I am sold. There should be a local Wive's of Adam's Addicts (WAA) support group.
  7. I won't be able to make it as I will be detailing for a client. Gotta use up the 5 gallons of old Detail Spray I have. But, if you guys go out for dinner afterwards I might be able to meet up.
  8. It was. But is is amazing how much abouse these display vehicles take in 17 days. We figure around 5 years worth (minimum) of getting in and out, climbing on the seats, kicking the backs of the seats, walking on the carpets, and kicking the sides while getting in and out. The water in the extractor was black only after 7 days on display. Plus add in the fact that this is a stock show. Imagine what the kiddos walked through before they climbed all over the seats and floor of that Suburban. Ewwww.
  9. The new Silverado has some subtle but significant changes. The cab is 6 inches longer (but 6 inches were removed from the bed), the rear doors are 40 inches, the airdam was redesigned, and (my favorite change) there are built in steps on the rear bumber to access the bed easier. The interior was redesigned as well. All in all, I rather like it.
  10. Sorry for the delay in getting these posted. For the last three weeks I have been working with Chevrolet's event marketing company to detail their display vehicles at the 107th annual National Western Stock Show in Denver, CO. The show is a agriculture trade show, livestock buying and auctions, and Pro Rodeo extravaganza. We (www.highpointdetailing.com) was contacted to take care of all of Chevrolet's vehicles during the show. At the show the new 2014 Silverado was debuted 1 day before the new Stingray in Detroit. It was a pleasure and an honor to be working on these vehicles. So while Adam was working on the Stingray, I was working on the Silverado prototype. I credit getting this job to the fact that I only use Adam's products, the official licenced product for GM and the Corvette and Camero. So how about some photos.

    Great News

Congrats to your wife Dave. Wonderfull achievement. I hope you tacked her stripes on good do they don't fall off. But I still think it is only good news, unless they gave her a Dasia Sandero.
  12. Disinfectant wipes. Here is the catch, it can't leave a residue behind and cannot sratch. I am working the National Western Stock Show this week detailing for Chevrolet. We are wiping down door handles and steering wheels but have to go back and wipe with Waterless Wash and Single Soft towels. It would be great to be able to do everything in on step.
  13. What everyone else said is dead on: Revive and Adam's Quick Sealant.
  14. I use wall-mounted shelving tracks in my garage. It allows my to adjust the height and size of the shelf to suit my exact needs. I have a large shelf on the top to hold my gallons, then 2 smaller sheves the hight for the botles in order of operational use, then another large shelf at desk hight for me to work off of. Sorry no photos but this is the core of what you need to do it my way. I love this because it is so customizable, comes in all kinds of colors and textures, different types of shelves (wire or sold) and different sizes. It does require some hefty wall bracing and you will have to drill into the wall to put some anchors in. But when you move you can just remove the whole system and take it with you and patch the holes easy. It will cost a bit more but in my mind worth it. ShelfTrack 84 in. Standard Hanging Track-2812 at The Home Depot
  15. Now I have an image of big, squishy, bipedal beings made of clay in a factory packaging clay "bars". Don't ask where my imagination is for where the "clay" actually comes from.
  16. Nick I would be in on this but the wife bought me a new Rebel T3i with a bunch of goodies. (loving my new 75-300mm) This is a great deal though.
  17. The traditional way; drunk at a bar. Not much else to tell.
  18. Jim, I know we were just a small part of your life, but this little community of ours will forever be saddened at the loss of your wisdom, knowledge, and humor. You shall be missed by all of us, your country, the world, and your family. Thank you for all you have given us and may you find something worth polishing and shining where ever you are now.
  19. I saw at leasy fourteen car I know of out side the Adams booth that I know met thier shine potential with Adam's polishes. I personally detailed ten cars at that show. What a great weekend. So glad I got to see so many of my Adam's friends.
  20. The Man Cave team is detailing cars and we are setting up tomorrow and wednessday. We have classics and exotics on display all detailed using only Adam's products. Can't wait to see you all there.
  21. I will be there. As soon as I figure out this new phone I will hit the quote button. TFT is my favorite charity. When I was a kid we bebefited from this wonderful organization. We have given back to them ten fold and continue to do so.
  22. I would rather use 100 grit USA-made sandpaper than these Chinese-made "towels".
  23. You said "I use Adam's" and they just gave up, just like that. Wimps.
  24. That is weird. Mine ussual end up in the microwave.
  25. Ouch. My brain hurts from trying to read that label.
